SEA CAPTAIN'S STONE COTTAGE WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS. PET FRIENDLY. CLOSE TO BEACH

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Saundersfoot - St Brides Cottage

3 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, lounge, dining, conservatory, driveway

St Brides is a beautifully modernised West Wales detached stone cottage - one of the oldest houses in Saundersfoot. It has been in our family for nearly 50 years and was formally owned by an old Sea Captain. All the front rooms have panoramic views of the beach and the bay. We are 200M from Saundersfoot beach, the harbour, the town's shops and restaurants. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is nearby.

The cottage, with its thick stone walls and beamed ceilings, has been completely fitted out to a high standard for your comfort and enjoyment. There are 3 bedrooms: 1 king, 1 double and 1 bedroom with bunk beds for 2 children. There is an upstairs bathroom and downstairs bathroom/showeroom. The kitchen, dining room and lounge are all separate rooms.

The lounge has a wonderful wood burning stove (fuel provided), large TV with BT Vision/Sport and is equipped with a Yamaha iPod/iPhone player

WiFi is provided via BT and it runs at 4-6Mb. BT Sport is also provided that allows film downloads and recording of your favourite TV shows.

There are books and games provided with the cottage. The books are mostly modern novels - recently bought for reading groups!

Please note: Some upstairs windows have low sills so young children need to take special care.

The Garden: The front garden over looks the bay/beach and is lawned. There are chairs and a table in the conservatory. The rear garden is terraced and left wild as a wildlife sanctuary. There are narrow stone steps in the garden and at least two steep unguarded drops of about 1.5M. The garden is reasonably secure and children need to be responsible. The garden is not completely pet proof. There is a rotary washing line.

There is driveway parking for at least two cars which is accessed off St Brides Hill. The arched gateway to the drive is just wide enough for family cars (2.3M). To leave by car you must reverse out which requires assistance. The driveway is only accessible coming down St Brides Hill. The photographs show the access and driveway.

The amenities of Saundersfoot are within a short walk down St Brides Hill. The long sandy beach (within 200 metres) has safe bathing, good fishing and magical rock pools to explore! The harbour is directly below the cottage with fishing & leisure boats and the Saundersfoot Sailing Club.

The luxurious St Brides Hotel is close by where you can enjoy a great meal or a visit to the luxurous Spa.

We pride ourselves on making your stay as enjoyable as we can. Here's some reviews from guests who stayed in 2013......

'The cottage exceeded all our expectations, clean, spacious, comfortable, full of character and had everything we needed. Owner friendly and helpful. Wonderful views, can't imagine a better place to stay in Saundersfoot'.....

......and another.......

'Just returned from an amazing week at this beautiful cottage. This was the best holiday yet with our three boys (5,4,2). They enjoyed returning to what they call their cottage by the sea........They loved catching bugs in the garden and playing hide and seek around the secret garden. The treasure trove of kid games and spades/nets in the cupboard were excitedly used........'

and another.....

'Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided, crisp white linen, plenty of towels, dishwasher with tablets, washing machine, ipod player, tv etc etc. The cottage itself was quaint, with thick stone walls and wide window seats perfect for looking out at the view over the bay. It was better than a hotel, it was like staying at a friends house - a friend with high standards of cleaning!...........'

True home away from home

St Brides cottage in Saundersfoot it exactly “home away from home”. This was really perfect place welcoming us from the very beginning, being very hospitable during all our stay so it was not easy to say good bye – hopefully – see you next time! The cottage was very clean and tidy with beautiful old architecture and decorations. The location absolutely perfect - few minutes’ walk from the harbor and the stunning beach.
The instructions to collect the key were very clear and even exciting! Peter/owners really thought about everything…from a very kind and moving welcome note accompanied by two bottles of wine (so pleasant when you just arrived from a far country and after hours of journey and diff week) through detailed folder with all the instructions what to do in the house, all that made our start at the cottage smooth and pleasant.
Bedrooms had fantastic views of the beach. The beds were very comfortable with warm duvets plus good quality, soft towels being provided + hairdryer :-) . Dining room and the kitchen equipped with absolutely everything what you would need just to enjoy common meals.
The beautiful village, very cosy, with range of local shops, with the evening entertainment options of few nice restaurants (i.e. Mermaid, Kookaba) and pubs –The Captain’sTable - very kind people there. And with AM options with very cute coffee shops serving great latte as well as nice Marina restaurant (great service!) serving one of the best English breakfasts I have ever had in the UK, eating it in silence, facing the beautiful beach, sea and cliffs on sunny Monday morning.
Tenby – definitely worth walking along the coast to see great cliffs, beaches, amazing nature with little birds accompanying you to be finally rewarded with the view of the sunset!
In case you need a bit of relax and to unwind – it is worth considering open air pool in St. Brides SPA heated to body temperature facing rough shores, cliffs and green hills. Amazing experience especially when u r with close friends observing it just before twilight.
And for me, the top of everything was small local St. Brides (!) Catholic Church, that allowed me to appreciate and thank God for all what I got during this special for me weekend – by attending the Sunday Holly Mass with very kind local people. The Holly Service is at 9.30 on Sundays.
And in case you have very unique or special need - Peter will always help you with everything. Peter thank you! you know for what :-)
Very much recommened

Wonderful cottage in the most perfect setting.

We couldn't have asked for a nicer cottage in the most perfect of locations in Saundersfoot. The view is stunning from the cliff & this oldy-worldy sea captains cottage is warm, cosy & inviting to come back to. The booking process & chatting to Peter (the owner) was easy going & a delight. I received all the assurance I needed & the cottage certainly matched the description! All was perfect when we arrived (thank you for the 2 bottles of wine!) & after having the central heating & the wood fire on in the living room the cottage was cosy. We walked along the wide beach & over the rocks as far as we could & also walked the
coastal path to Tenby which was stunning (we were blessed with great weather!), returning by bus (take good walking shoes as the path gets quite muddy). The restaurants are good value with a variety of fish & steak dishes & the usual veg. We ate at The Mermaid on the Strand, Kook a Bar (Australian) & at a couple of pubs. The Mulberry is popular although we didn't get to eat there. The village atmosphere is relaxed & cute with a range of small shops including a popular local butchers, 2 bakeries (one selling fresh bread with no preservatives & the other home baked cakes), a Tesco Express & some nice gift & home wear shops. We also booked a Sunday spa afternoon at the St. Brides Hotel directly across the road - the perfect treat! All in all the long weekend was perfect, so much so that I wanted to stay another day! Will definitely be back at this cottage! Highly recommended!

What a great find....from the initial contact with the owners to arriving in Saundersfoot, this cottage was as advertised, and so much more! A real `home from home`. Bone china crockery, a canteen of cutlery and some wonderful old pieces of furniture, together with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier made it seem so much nicer than staying in your average rental property. All this with amazing views from the lounge, dining room and front bedrooms made for one very special holiday cottage and one we will be returning to as soon as we can.

St Brides cottage is a fantastic place to stay, with all the home comforts provided in an excellent position. You dont need to venture out as the coastal views are to die for. There is always something to look at on the beach/harbour even if you are in bed!! The front garden gets the sun all day during the summer and is wonderful to relax in. The conservatory is light and airy also a good alternative to eat in. The beds are the most comfortable we have slept in and crisp white linen is provided as are luxurious soft towels.
We found the housekeeping excellent .
The sandy beaches with their rock pools are the best ever. Just a few minutes walk uphill turn down 'The Glen' where you will find our favourite beach
Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a nice review - your kindness is much appreciated. It's really great to hear you enjoyed your holiday and St Brides Cottage. See you again soon I hope!

Would highly recommend staying in this cottage as it is perfect in every way. Like home from home and couldn`t ask for anything better. Extremely clean and well maintained. Beautiful views from the cottage of the harbour and the beach. Just a few minutes walk to Saundersfoot where you will find plenty of places to eat and shops to browse. Would highly recommend taking a boat trip from Tenby to Caldey Island where there is plenty to see and do. Tenby is also a very nice place to visit and some really good places to eat at very reasonable prices.
Owner's Response: I am so pleased that you enjoyed staying at St Brides Cottage. I hope you'll visit again. Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a nice review - it is much appreciated. Peter Naylor
