Situated on the south west coast of the island, Keri has been careful in its development so as not to lose its charming air of tradition and culture. The lovely old village, situated on a green hill high above the liminaki (or little harbour) known as Keri Limni is a great place for some lunch in one of the Tavernas around the harbour, then Keri Village a little bit further along is full of traditional stone houses, quiet narrow streets and its own exquisite little church. Beyond this is the lighthouse and the famous viewing point where the chance to take in some of the most dramatic sunsets imaginable is not to be missed
In the harbour itself, the fabulous beach of sand and fine shingle shelves gently into crystal clear waters whilst the handful of waterfront tavernas - noted for their excellent food - and cafe bars provide a totally relaxed and low-key backdrop. From here you can hire a boat for the day or take an organised trip across to the island of Marathanisi with it huge sandy beaches or visit (and swim in) the beguilingly beautiful Keri caves.
