About The Owner

My wife and I run this small holiday business from our home office just outside Bath. We own all

the properties we let and that currently includes two cottages in beautiful Freshford near Bath; one

one bedroom cottage just outside Bath and The Old Museum in Looe, Cornwall.

We have designed the business on our own experiences of travelling and staying in holiday

apartments. Here are our main principles:

• Be as responsive as possible to any email communication from the customer. We try to

answer all emails within the hour.

• Offer interesting, historic buildings in a beautiful and relaxing environment.

• Offer locations that work well without a car.

• Try to make the properties as close to a “home from home” as possible.

• Work hard to keep the standard of maintenance as high as possible.

• We pay a bonus to our housekeeper if the words “spotlessly clean” appear in a review.

• Make the business of booking as simple and straightforward as possible.

• Trust our guests.

• Provide enough information to enable guests to find the property easily.

• Make the check in as simple as possible.

• Provide a stress-free holiday from beginning to end.

THE COTTAGE IS WELL SITUATED JUST OFF THE FRONT. NICE AND QUIET. COULD NOT HEAR THE SEAGULLS EVEN THOUGH 30 SECONDS FROM THE FRONT.. CLEAN, WELL EQUIPPED AND JUST AS DESCRIBED. ENJOYED OURSELVES IN LOOE AND HAD A RELAXING TIME IN THE COTTAGE.

Owner's Response: The seagulls are quiet at this time of year because their young have flown the nest. Do come again soon.

Ideally situated holiday property.

We were delighted with the standard of the property and pleasantly surprised by its location (literally a stone's throw from the beach). Looe is a beautiful place with many things to recommend it, and this apartment was the icing on the cake. We will certainly return and would recommend without reservation.

The old museum is a lovely 2 bed apartment : comfy but spacious and equipped with everything you need. Location is excellent....less than a minutes walk to the beach and with a prime seafront parking space included...brilliant!

Home from Home, all wants catered for

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cornwall Museum Cottage and it was just as described. It was so central and had everything we needed - the sofa bed was the biggest we had ever seen and very comfortable. The beds and the linen were lovely, also the fluffy bath towels.

The property was very clean although the slate? floor left feet/socks black. We were impressed with the De-moisturiser as it kept the cottage nice and dry. One of the lights went in the bathroom and after a phone call it was soon fixed. As the European Games were on during our stay it was good to have a tv for family viewing.

We can recommend Fowey, so pretty, with its bus and boat trips. If you like smugglers then Polperro and Jamaica Inn on Bodmin Moor are a must. If you like gardens then we can recommend The Lost Gardens of Heligand and the National Trust house and gardens at Lanhydrock (I think that was the name).

We had a lovely evening meal at The Old Sail Loft but it is advisable to book. Daisy's is very family friendly and recommended for scones and cream teas. The Catch was our favourite for fish and chips. We also frequented the ice cream shop (so many flavours) just round the corner and were very partial to their Mr Whippy's with flake, but could only manage the Medium size!

We were a party of 2 grandparents, daughter and granddaughter and would definitely recommend this apartment. For those with young children, Looe beach is enormous and full of activities with an enormous tug of war which looked great fun on the sands.

The only part of the holiday we did not enjoy was running the gauntlet of the pedestrians and oncoming traffic when trying to reach/leave our car park. This is no reflection on the apartment and the parking space was absolutely invaluable.

Excellent

Lovely cottage which was very clean, well equipped and extremely suitable for three adults and a young child.

Ideally located near the centre, but quieter than a number of cottages previously rented.

I would certainly not hesitate to recommend this property to others.

East Looe centres on the broad sandy beach, with the distinctive Banjo Pier, a new Lifeboat station and St. Mary's Church. Stretching back from here is a grid of narrow streets forming the main part of the town, packed with many small independent shops, restaurants, coffee shops and pubs. Along the estuary lies the quay, with several fish dealers. Towards the bridge lies the Victorian Guildhall, and just north of the bridge the railway station. This is the terminus of the stunning Looe Valley branch line to Liskeard.

Along the cliffs to the east is Plaidy Beach, and past there is the bay and village of Millendreath with another beach. Inland lies the famous Woolly monkey sanctuary. Other local attractions include the beaches, sailing, fishing and diving, and spectacular coastal walks, especially that via Talland to Polperro. In the area are several stately homes, including Antony House, Cotehele, Mount Edgcumbe, and Lanhydrock House, as well as the Eden Project near St Austell.

South Cornwall - reckoned to be Britain's most beautiful and interesting coastline - is a land of steep wooded rocky chines which lead inland from the sea along stream and river valleys. Villages spill down these craggy inlets to the water where there is often to be found an old fishing harbour, always massively defended against the rolling Atlantic winter storms, and in today's more gentle political climate usually home to yachts and fishing boats, rather than the smugglers and wreckers of yore.

Mewing buzzards ride ladders of air above the craggy igneous Cornish landscape, as farmers work their herds in what is the balmiest climate in the British Isles, due to the gentle wash of the Gulf Stream along its shores. The local history is rich: the Spanish Armada may have failed in its mission, but South Cornwall saw the only successful invasion since William the Conqueror when the Spaniards briefly invaded the county.

The little-known Stannary Parliament at nearby Liskeard, which gave the tin-miners a large degree of self-rule, last sat in 1572, and the picturesque and haunting ruins of tin-mines still dot the uncompromisingly rugged but utterly beautiful landscape. The 'Cornish Alps' are testimony to the once-great china clay industry, and stories of the sea - lifeboat heroes, sea-going villains and naval battles - dominate this once-remote region. Surfing, crabbing, lobster-fishing and scuba-diving are now the main activities in waters where revenue-men and smugglers and units of the Royal Navy and Napoleon's fleet once contended with cutlass and cannon.
