About Amber

I purchased this home in 2011 after falling in love with the Rainbow River, the crystal clear spring fed water took my breath away. The land that this home site on is truly priceless and I am excited for you to experience the wonder of this magical place.

Amber purchased this house in 2011

Why Amber chose Dunnellon

Years ago as a child I visited the Ichetucknee River in northern Florida and I promised myself that one day, if I ever found a place that beautiful again, I would buy it and build my dream home. Thankfully I found it and now I would like to share it with you.

What makes this house unique

The land this home sits on is truly unique. Almost every home on the Rainbow River is directly on the main flowing river where there is constant tuber traffic and noise. My house is set off the river in a crystal clear lagoon (not Blue Cove) with a private clear large stream that runs through it. Plenty deep for swimming but smaller children love it because they can stand and enjoy in the fun. You can see the tubers floating by and you can reach the river by swimming to it in less than two minutes. You will love the privacy of your own oasis. This home is a must see!

Beautiful, spacious house and property!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a 3 night vacation at this property with 17 others for our annual "guy's weekend." The property was better than we could have hoped. Huge front yard, perfect for outdoor games, with a large, stocked fire pit for the colder nights.

Upon entering the house we realized the pictures don't quite do it justice. The house is very spacious and easily accommodated all 17 of us. It was very clean and well maintained with all modern fixtures. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had, which mainly regarded how to operate a battery powered faucet (which sadly took us longer than it should have to figure out) and where to locate the wifi password (which also should have been obvious for us).

The large stocked kitchen and the grill on the back patio were perfect for making meals big enough for our group, and there were ample supplied odds and ends (spices, dishes, cookware, etc.).

We debated renting a pontoon boat for one of our days, but between the supplied kayaks and some inflatable rafts we brought along, we had plenty of fun without it. The back patio, right on the river, and the private island over the bridge were beautiful and entertaining.

The only regret we had for our trip was not staying longer. I would definitely recommend staying more than the 3 nights we stayed, since the vacation flew by far too quickly.

There are a few local restaurants, including Swampy's in fairly easy kayaking distance, and a bar nearby that is open late, but we didn't have too much time to explore. There's also a very convenient Walmart for any odds and ends you may need.

I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a beautiful place to stay, on a gorgeous river, with the feeling of "getting away from it all" without actually being "away" from everything.

We brought 34 scuba divers and loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our scuba shop in North Carolina brought down 34 divers to enjoy the Springs. Not only did we love the springs, but the Rainbow River Rental was perfect! There was room for everyone; plenty of bedrooms, air mattresses, and bathrooms (not to mention the shower with SIX shower heads). The house was well stocked with extra blankets, sheets, and pillows even trash bags, laundry detergent, and toilet paper. Some camped out back on the private island while others set up around the fire pit in the front. There is plenty of room to park and the fence around the house offered extra privacy. The kitchen was ideal for cooking for our large group. We could almost all fit around the dinning room table which had a large lazy-Susan on it. The pool table and board games were great for our group and we enjoyed football on the huge television in the living room. To top it all off the house was close to the grocery store and within thirty minutes of all the springs we were visiting. The view was the best part, it was our own little resort for the weekend. Everyone wanted to stay longer or just move in. Stay in this home and you will have a wonderful time!

Our 25th Anniversary Rainbow River Renewal

  • 5 of 5

This home is incredible! We recently stayed for 5 nights with 15 of our family and we had plenty of room for more. The home is designed perfectly so we all had plenty of group and individual space. The large round dining table was perfect for our family breakfasts and seated all of us comfortably and the state of the art kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The front yard has a large fire pit area with chairs that we enjoyed on the chilly evenings. The best thing about this home is the view. Situated right on the Rainbow River with its own private island with bridge (which is the romantic setting where we exchanged our vows) you can't find a better way to spend your day relaxing. We renewed our vows with 50 of our family and closest friends and we all spent the days kayaking or tubing down the river together. My family agreed this was one of the best vacations we have ever experienced, alone or together. The water is beautiful and crystal clear. The home came with two kayaks for our use as well as floats but there is a tube rental right down the street. Amber, the owner, was fabulous and always answered all of my questions while trying to plan the party from Ft. Lauderdale. She even provided me with the names of event planners(Connie at A Special Occasion was a lifesaver), Florist (A Floral Occasion provided our beautiful centerpieces and bouquets) Caterers, etc...The use of the home and the grounds for this special occasion was a once in a lifetime experience and I can't say enough great things about our trip. We are already talking about another one in the near future. Also, it's close to Swampy's restaurant where we had a group dinner and cocktails after our day floating. The quaint town has wonderful mansions converted into craft/antique stores and we all found mementos to commemorate our time together. I can't say enough good things about this home, location or owner. I have and will continue to tell everyone this is the place to stay and we definitely plan on staying there again!

Great property with a great location!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of eleven stayed a week at this Rainbow River home, three families in all. We couldn't have asked for a better location, the house was perfectly situated, close to grocery stores, restaurants and the Rainbow River State Park. We had ample room to spread out, as well as, come together for meals. The kitchen was well appointed and large enough to accommodate multiple chefs simultaneously. The pool table, fire pit and kayaks were put to use daily. The crystal clear waters were amazing. We saw fish and otters every day just sitting at the back of the house! Our kids (ranging in age from 6 to 15) were never bored. Tubing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, boating, what more can you ask for? Great family vacation!

great house, river so refreshing

  • 5 of 5

We came over for our annual scalloping trip but wanted to stay away from the coast as the mosquitos can be quite nasty in the summer. We found this location to be close to Crystal River (35 minutes) but with the added benefit of the Rainbow River providing a refreshing way to relax after we had finished our morning scalloping. The private stream out front is a perfect place for the kids to play and we floated many times down to Swampy's - 45 minutes to an hour on tubes is just perfect. If you want a longer float you can go up to the State Park and put in there. The house was big enough and we came with three families and never felt crowded. The large round dining table is so great - no other VRBO house we have rented had close to this much seating for a meal. I think we got 14 people around the table. If you bring a boat just know that it's on a dead-end road with no turn-around but the yard is big enough to pull in if you are good at driving a trailer. We only ate one meal out - at Swampy's - and it was very good... better than we expected. We would definitely rent here again.
