We stayed at this wonderful "home away from home" for a week and it was great.. The Holland's had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable.
We had been planning this trip to this amazing area for quite sometime. We knew we wanted to do EVERYTHING so location was very important. It was a pleasure to come home to the cabin after loooong days out but also to this enchanting town of Custer.
Our suggestion to you is don't hesitate just book it:)
What a treat to have this cozy cabin as our home base while visiting Rushmore. It was centrally located to all the activities we planned. It was so nice to have the park in the back yard, be able to walk into downtown custer, and enjoyed the deck, fire pit, and grill. Tim and Dawn were very accommodating.
Fantastic cabin in a quaint location just two blocks from downtown Custer. It felt like we were out of town once we crossed the stream that runs beside the property. We saw multiple deer stop for a drink.
The small park right outside the front door was a perfect fit for our family with three children under 10. The gas fire pit on the deck was also an added bonus. The cabin also had everything you would need to cook a family meal.
Excellent communication with owners from start to finish. Perfect location for all the tourist attractions. Owners paid attention to all the little details, very clean and comfortable. Loved how there was a binder with all the details of close stores, restaurants and things to do. Custer is a awesome little town with great food. The wifi that saved us as we did not have cell phone service (Sprint does not have towers in the area). Kids loved the park that was just out the front door and husband loved that there was cable for entertainment in the evening after our daily adventures. We have already told all of our friends and family that this is the place they need to stay if they travel to the Black Hills. As a first time user of VRBO and our excellent experience the bar has been set high by Dawn and Tim!!!
We had a great experience at the cabin! The Hollands thought of everything we would need and the place was extremely clean and well kept. We loved the gas firepit on the deck and my kids loved having a park right in the front yard. The cabin was literally minutes from anything we wanted to see. We will be back!
Dawn did a wonderful job with the house, it was very inviting and clean. A great home away from home! However the third room is very small more like a porch, we booked it thinking it was 3 full bedrooms...we would stay there again just not with all our kids due to the room!
Custer is a short distance from Mt. Rushmore National Park, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Park,
Badlands National Park, Crazy Horse Monument. Custer boarders one of the largest wildlife state parks, (Custer State Park). It is only an hour drive to the famous town of Deadwood, known for Wild Bill Hickock, Calamity Jane, Gold Mining and Casinos.
