This is a stunning villa in a great location. It has every possible amenity, the gardens are stunning and views across to the sea and Mount Teide are amazing. The villa itself is huge with generous rooms, lots of comfortable sofas, plenty of outside areas for eating/cooking/lazing about! The bedrooms were well furnished and the beds extremely comfortable. The owner Desmond was a lovely man and he clearly wished us to have the best holiday possible. The children loved watching the canaries, running around the garden and playing in the crystal clear pool. Puerto De La Cruz is a lovely town (the one way system was a bit baffling at first! but once sussed is no problem) The seafront is pretty with lots of inexpensive restaurants. We had several good meals but the most memorable was at the Monastry in La Luz where the food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed a trip up Mount Teide on the cable car but really did very little else (although there was plenty on offer on the island) because the villa was so beautiful! I cannot recommend this villa highly enough - it was fantastic!
We first stayed at Villa Jardin Botanico in March 2011 and, from the moment of our arrival, we fell in love with the place. It was as a result of that wonderful holiday that we booked a return visit in May this year.
The approach to the villa is along a 500 metre unmade (but sound) road between fields growing a variety of vegetables and fruits. The villa is hidden from view but, when the large electronically controlled entrance gate swings back, you enter a lush, tropical oasis which fully justifies the name of this villa.
We were greeted warmly by the owners (who live in their adjoining but not visible villa). When they gave us a conducted tour of our holiday home, we were immediately struck by the size and grandeur of the living rooms, the well equipped kitchen, the quality of the furnishings throughout and the paintings which adorned the villa. We immediately felt at home (not only because my wife is an artist!) but simply because the villa is homely notwithstanding the scale of the accommodation.
The gardens are a perfect complement to the villa. They have been professionally landscaped and planted and contain an impressive array of palm trees from tropical origins around the world and the flowering shrubs and plants are a joy to see. There is even an aviary in the garden with canaries which greeted us every day with their singing. However, they were out sung by the blackcap and willow warblers who were resident in the extensive shrubbery around the villa. The heated swimming pool is meticulously maintained and is set below a terraced area which has a dining table under an extendible awning alongside a dedicated BBQ which has a kitchenette with additional equipment such as a hob, fridge etc.
This villa has everything you could possibly need for a perfect holiday. In fact, we had to almost force ourselves to go out into the nearby towns of Puerto de la Cruz and Orotova as we were so content with the villa and the gardens. If you have been used to staying in the South of Tenerife where the majority of tourist accommodation is based, I cannot recommend too highly the merits of the northern end of the island and, in particular, this stunning villa which is available at what I consider to be very reasonable rental rates.
We stayed at villa Jardin Botanico for ten nights in October 2010 and loved every minute of it. We arrived at night so didn't see the fantastic view of mount Teide till the morning, definate wow factor!! The villa is very well maintained inside & out & the gardens are huge, owners very friendly & helpful. Shops & Puerto de la Cruz easily accessable but would advise hiring a car, as access road to villa is quite long. Kids loved the pool & Loro Parque. We are returning for last two weeks in August next year, can't wait!!

In the heart of La Orotava valley sourrounded by agricultural land. 5minutes by car from Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava.Nearest restaurant 700 metres away, specialising in tapas and first class Canary cuisine.Nearby is El Monasterio restaurant, a unique grouping of different restaurants specialising in different cuisines all within a very picturesque typical Canary ambience.Good value for money and worth a visit. Nearby also is Loro Parque which is really worth a visit. The largest collection of parrots in the world and really beautiful gardens. There is a superb acuarium, a penquinarium where it actually snows, and dolphins and whales etc. A really good day out for the kids. Also nearby are the towns, Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava both of which have interesting historical centres and many restaurants to choose from.
