Overview

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Prescott - Little Yellow Cottage

Two Bedroom, One Bath Cottage Within Walking Distance To Downtown Prescott.

Our “little yellow cottage” is a few blocks from the historic Prescott town square with its many events, shops and restaurants. It is a beautifully furnished craftsman style cottage that was originally built in 1935 and completely restored in 2009.

A wide front porch with comfortable wicker chairs looks out on the cottage garden, which provides a happy welcome to our bright and airy two bedroom, one bath abode. The back yard is landscaped to enhance the natural setting of Ponderosa pine trees and the huge out-cropping of granite boulders.

The dining and living rooms are complete with a gas fireplace, cable television and DVD. Wireless internet is provided. The quaint kitchen contains a gas stove and oven, microwave, refrigerator and laundry facilities. The cottage sleeps 4 comfortably (one queen and one full size bed) outfitted with bedding and comforters.

The open floor plan is perfect for a couple's get-a-way, business retreat, family vacations and entertaining.

Prescott is the perfect vacation get-away. There is so much to do in Prescott. Just walking around town is a great way to spend the day. In the evening you can do country Western dancing or contemporary dancing at one of the 'Saloons? on Whisky Row or take in live theatre.

Prescott hosts annual events. Just a few are: the April Whiskey Row off-road mountain bike races (epic ride); May has the Highland Games; June includes Frontier Days and the Prescott rodeo, 4th of July celebration and parade and Prescott's Indian art market; August has the Prescott film festival and cowboy poets gathering at Sharlot Hall; Even December in Prescott boasts of the Acker holiday music festival and Christmas courthouse lighting and parade to name a few. All that plus sports with 3 lakes close by and art and special events monthly downtown. Also, we are proud to include Sharlot Hall, the historic Elk's Theatre and Yavapai College, which offer special events during the year.

Contact: Harry or Diane for rental information. We would love to have you stay in our exceptionally charming cottage to take a break from everyday life and to see what Prescott has to offer! FYI-we will have a second property in Prescott that will be available by Mid November 2014 VRBO # 627402. If the Yellow Cottage is already booked for your travel dates, take a look at our new property!

About Harry Brown

We have always loved Prescott and when I had an opportunity to accept a job up here in 2008, it gave us a chance to look for a place that complemented our previous trips abroad.

Harry Brown purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Harry Brown chose Prescott

We fell in love with our Little Yellow Cottage because of the craftsman touches and the natural setting of pine trees and large out cropping of boulders, yet a short walk to all the happenings at the town square. If the Yellow Cottage is already booked for your travel dates, take a look at VRBO #627402 for your travel needs.

What makes this cottage unique

This home is walking distance to quaint shops, restaurants, and museums where history and charm abound! Start your morning with a hike up Thumb Butt or kayak on Watson and Goldwater Lakes; then stop for coffee and a morning treat at one of Prescott's charming coffee bars. Spend the day perusing antique shops, the farmers market at Yavapai College and enjoy the regular entertainment and fairs at the Town Square. Or simply spend a leisurely day sitting on our spacious front porch sipping lemonade with a light snack while reading your favorite book. There's something for everyone to enjoy.

A treasure!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed Labor Day weekend at the Little Yellow Cottage & had a fantastic time. It was just my 11-year old daughter and me, so the quaint cottage was ample in space. We hiked every day, read & played games all afternoon, went out for dinner or ordered pizza, and watched movies each night. It was truly a girls bonding time for us. Quite lovely. We hope to go back soon for another getaway. Nearby restaurant & grocery were helpful, and the parking was perfect. Thank you!

Little Yellow Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Everything was clean and in order. Owner obviously is well-organized and takes pride in the property. Questions regarding the property and community were all answered in the provided manual. Cottage was close to everything. Very quiet neighborhood. Backyard was cute beyond words. Enjoyed ourselves immensely and the owner was really helpful during some bad weather. Highly Recommend!

Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time at the Little Yellow Cottage! Great location, quiet neighborhood, everything we could possibly need! Our dog was with us and she was very comfortable. We walked everywhere, enjoyed the antique shops, the great restaurants and the beautiful Courthouse Square all lit up for Christmas. We hope to be back next year.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Highly recommended! Cute, quiet, comfortable, clean, and fully stocked! This is an historical home located 1/2 mile (great walk!) from Whiskey Row. We were greeted with a 'welcome' sign and very nice bottle of wine. The kitchen is stocked with absolutely everything you could want (and items are cataloged in the house manual so you can easily find what you need), including a pantry with seasonings! The gas fireplace was so warm and inviting and really warmed up the front rooms. There are antiques throughout the home but modern kitchen appliances. There are several sitting areas on the property for relaxing, happy hour or breakfast. We will absolutely recommend this home to our friends and family.

Perfect little getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Little Yellow Cottage in Prescott. It was adorable, clean, cozy and well stocked with all the amenities you could possibly need (and more!). The cottage was beautifully decorated. The welcome bottle of wine and fresh flowers added a wonderful touch to our 4 days of relaxation. We spent much of our time sitting out on the front porch reading, enjoying the weather and just really relaxing. We enjoyed breakfast on the patio every morning as well. The neighborhood was very quiet and a wonderful place to take morning walks (despite the construction on nearby Park St). Our only recommendations that could make for a nicer stay would be to have better water pressure and hotter water in the shower and to have a bit more comfortable seating in the living rm. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay and would highly recommend it. We hope to be able to go back and stay there again sometime. The cottage really is extremely nice!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the glowing review. We do appreciate you taking the time to write. We are sorry about the water pressure and the temperature of the hot water. If you had mentioned it to us, Harry would have increased the temperature for the cooler weather. Normally in the summer the water temperature is way too hot, so we lower it for that season. We have since heated up the hot water and improved the water pressure. Thank you for pointing those needs out to us. We are just sorry your stay didn't include those fixes, but thank you again for such a positive review.

Great Little Cottage!!

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I stayed at this wonderful Cottage for a week with our little dog. The Cottage is so beautiful and fully stocked with most anything you may need. The furnishings were beautiful and very close to Downtown, which we went to every night to listen to music at the Courthouse Square. Sitting on the front porch was so relaxing in the quiet surroundings and you can tell the owners have paid attention to every detail. Once we arrived we were greeted with cookies and flowers which made us feel at home. The owners are wonderful people and we met Harry who was so nice,as he wanted to make sure everything was good for us. We would love to come back again, perhaps in the Winter. The only thing that I can suggest is to mention in the ad, that the fireplace is only on for about 7 months a year, which is understandable. We got caught in a huge rain storm and were soaked and chilled, and it would have been so nice to warm up in front of the fireplace with have some hot chocolate. We did have the Hot Chocolate though. :) I actually would give 4 1/2 stars if possible. I do recommend staying at this Historic Cottage.. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Michael,MaryEllen and our little Annie..

Owner's Response: Michael, Thank you for your great review of the cottage. We do strive to exceed our guests expectations of their stay at the cottage. We were sorry to hear your comment about the fireplace. The reason we turn off the pilot to the gas fireplace in the summer is because it heats up the house to the point where the fireplace's recirculating fan comes on which heats the house up even more, making the cottage too hot in the summer without using the air conditioner. When it is 80+ degrees outside during the day it just never seemed to be necessary to keep the pilot on.
