What makes this house unique

Fishing and Hunting

Fishing and wildlife resources at Eufaula Lake provide a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities. Year-round fishing is good, but for total outdoor experience, spring and fall are the best times of the year, with excellent fishing and with some of the most spectacular scenery in the State of Oklahoma. Striped bass, large mouth bass, white bass, crappie, catfish, walleye and numerous sunfishes provide most of the sport and pan fishing success.

Project lands are open for public hunting, except for developed park areas and lands in the vicinity of the dam and other project structures. The principal game species include bobwhite quail, deer, cottontail rabbit, squirrel, duck, geese and mourning dove.

Hunting and fishing are regulated by state and federal laws, and the same licenses are required as in other parts of Oklahoma. Public hunting maps showing both Corps and State areas open for hunting are available from the Eufaula Resident Office at the dam or the Tulsa District Office.

Camping and Picnicking

Nineteen park areas have been developed by the Corps of Engineers. The State of Oklahoma maintains two park areas, including covered fishing docks, stables, nature trails, service docks, golf courses, campgrounds and air parks. An area of 110 acres is leased to the City of Eufaula for a public park. Improved access roads lead into the park areas, all of which have boat launching ramps. The major camping sites and picnic areas are furnished with restrooms, parking areas, picnic shelters, drinking water, charcoal grills and trash containers. Numerous commercial concessions around the lake provide visitors with supplies as well as dining and recreational opportunities.

Boating

Boating on the lake is in accordance with Oklahoma boating laws and Corps of Engineers regulations. Regulations governing operational requirements of boats may be obtained from the Eufaula Area Office near the dam.

Excellent Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I along with three other couples and two children had the best time. The home had all we needed to make our three days a joyous time. We will be returning.

Weekend Retreat.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was nice. It was everything we could of expected for the price. It was not a perfect house but it was perfect for our group. The wooded area behind the house was fun to walk through on the way to the lake.

Perfect for our Family and Friend get-together.. Plenty of room

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house. It sleeps 13 comfortable, plus very comfortable couches to throw teenagers on. There is plenty of room for some air mattresses for kids. House, kitchen and both bathrooms were nice and clean. The house has 3 levels, main level has the kitchen, one bathroom w/tub, living room, dining room and one king size bed room. Top level has one bedroom with queen bed and the full/twin bunk. Lower level was huge, it has 2 bedrooms, one with king bed and the other with 2 twin bunks and bathroom (no tub, just shower) it also has a big entertain room with pool table, radio, tv, fireplace, chairs and couch. (This is where the kids hung out) This level also has the washer and dryer, plus a door to the outside to make bring bags in easier for those who stayed down stairs. Lots of windows and light on every level. Big back porch and fire pit. Great Beach area to hang out all day and swim. The trial is nice and clear, easy walking to the beach and not to far, trail is great for a ATV, not big enough for a car. If you have someone who can't walk a distance, I recommend bring one. Owner was great and answer any question we had. The house had all the kitchen amenities needed, wifi worked great, plus plenty of towels! The house has a seclusion feeling even though there are neighbors, good size lot. I actually met several neighbors when someone's little dog came up to the house; it had broken free from its chain. Everyone was nice and helpful and we found the owners. One of the best parts of this house is the Price; it allowed my family and friends to get together and spend some much needed time together, So Thank You for that.

Great weekend getaway

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely time at this lake house. The listing description and photos were accurate, and we comfortably housed two families here for the weekend. We really could not beat the price of our stay here. The beach was farther away than we had thought, especially with seven small children tromping about, but it was an awesome place to swim with kids and play in the sand. Lovely, lovely, lovely. There are neighbors close by, but there is still a feeling of seclusion with the trees and size of the lot. You never know what to expect as far as toiletries go with vacation rentals, so make sure to pack your own bar soap and shampoo and conditioner for this one! They are well stocked for laundry and dishes, though. There weren't any hot pads in the kitchen that we could find, so that would have been nice. The house is a little older, so it has some quirks that match it's age, like a twisty floor plan, but it is well maintained and was great for our intentions --relaxing, playing, and enjoying good company.

No home is perfect, but this one is great for a large group going to the lake!

  • 4 of 5

---owners were AWESOME! Always available to answer questions, give directions, etc. Very friendly and accommodating.

Kitchen had everything we needed. We brought our own skillet after reading reviews that the one they had was too small. Fridge was missing shelving supports, so no storage on the door of the fridge. Made the fridge a bit tight for the number of people we had and amount of food we brought.

The 200+ yard walk to the lake is absolutely beautiful, but to haul things to and from would have been a pain...however the owners worked with us to secure a golf cart and that was perfect. Beach area overlooks the highway, but otherwise secluded and nice. Beach is sandy, so no water shoes needed. Kids LOVED the gradual slope and ended up learning to swim!

The location of the home was wonderful. 15 minutes to Jellystone, and 10 minutes to Eufaula State Park (which has a nature center and beautiful beaches). It was nice to be so close to everything.

The layout of the home is a little interesting. Only one room on the main level...so if you have a disabled person with you, they would get the "master" bedroom. Another room is upstairs and is pretty warm due to no house air up there. They put in a portable airconditioner and it works pretty well. My advice would be to shove towels in the small attic doors (which blow in hot air from the attic). Once we stopped the flow of the hot air the portable airconditioner worked much better. I had no complaints from the friends sleeping upstairs.

Downstairs is the pool table, bunk room, laundry room, full bath, and king bedroom. It was nice and cool downstairs...but be prepaired to hear the walking around upstairs.

Sooooo...the home isn't PERFECT, but it's perfect for being out at the lake. It had everything we NEEDED- including toilet paper, paper towels, trashbags, bedding, towels, and all kitchen supplies you would want in your own kitchen. I would definitely return and would recommend the property to anyone looking to stay at the lake...just keep in mind the distance to the shore, because that could possibly be the only draw back without a golf cart. It's an easy and beautiful walk, but if you have kids under 3, anyone disabled, or a lot of beach gear it's not so great.

-Living room could use some throw blankets. :)

Not Enough Bathrooms

  • 4 of 5

The bathroom situation was a problem. The top floor has no bathroom at all,yet it had the largest bedroom. There is only 1 full bathroom. The basement bathroom is oddly configured with step up toilet and shower and the shower is to short for an average size person. Many of the light switches didn't work,so there was no lights over the stove and sink. Most of the household items were provided, but the knives were dull and there could be more flatware. I brought my own pots and I'm glad I did. The teflon was scratched off the pans. The living room was a good size for my group. In general, we all had a good time.

Owner's Response: Glad you guys had a great trip. We have ordered a new knife and flat ware set for the house. There were lightbulbs that were out in the kitchen and have since been replaced. The downstairs bathroom is a smaller bathroom, but I am 6' 1" and use the shower fine. I guess when 16 people stay in a 2 bathroom house it will be a little crowded in the bathrooms...

Location

Car: recommended

The house is located just south of Texanna Rd off of Highway 69. The addition is Bridgeport Beach which is down the access road just past North Fork Babtist Church
