We are a (he) Firefighter and (she) Nurse. With grown children. We love the forest and wanted to own a bit for ourselves.

Ken purchased this cottage in 1996

We always wanted to own a secluded piece of forest someplace. We have family in the region and chose the Newport area because of the unspoiled, 'untouristy' nature of the area. We built this cottage ourselves while commuting to it 800 miles. It took 4 years to complete.

We chose to buy this particular piece of land because of the unique quality of easy access by paved all weather maintained road but still secluded in the forest (you can see no other home from ours) It is covered mostly by large mature pine and fir trees

A TENNESEE GAL ENJOYING WASHINGTON STATE

The fact that the cabin is close to several towns is a plus. The beauty surrounding the cabin is breathtaking. I saw a baby fawn close to the cabin and took pictures while the mom was grazing. The people who helped me were friendly and non pretentious. The accommodations are great, easy to use and so relaxing. I'd stay again....

COZY RETREAT

  • 5 out of 5
I've been working on two huge projects for the last two years and needed a place to disappear and unwind for a week. This was definitely and excellent choice. The owners put a lot of love into this place, you can tell. It's very homey. The weather was only good two of the six days so I mostly relaxed, read, played my guitar and wrote a little music. When I need privacy and quiet, I'll most certainly go back.

My wife and I spent 7 days at the cottage and it was absolutely wonderful as far as cleanliness, amply supplied with all ones essentials (and more), as well as great location being close to major highway (U.S. 2) and all sorts of sightseeing adventures. We truly had a fantastic stay. Only thing that was a little different is that there was no contact attempted to be made with us by the owners or property manager to see if everything was in order (which it was).....a phone call would have been nice!

We had an absolutely awesome time. The cabin is small and extremely nice. The time put into decorating, cleaning, supplying is unsurpasses. The only issue was nature, bees really enjoy the area, and we had the most awesome rain and thunderstorm while we were there. If you could eliminate a few bees it would be near perfect.

COZY COTTAGE NESTLED IN THE FOREST IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE!

Excellent two story cabin close to Diamond Lake and other regional attractions. Pictures are nice but it is actually better than what the pictures show. Cabin has most everything you will need for your stay. A very clean, with pleasant decor, well taken care of cabin. A really good stay and at a great price! This is a really good deal and I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others! We were able to easily make it over to Silverwood theme park and back while staying here. We easily joined family and friends on Diamond Lake, just a few minutes away!
