Casa del Legionario is a one bedroom village house in Ardales with full bathroom and balcony leading from the bedroom. Downstairs there is the sitting room with sofa bed, kitchen, shower room and a shaded Mediterranean style patio. There are steps leading up to the sunny roof terrace which has wonderful views over the surrounding mountains. The casa is situated at the top of the village of Ardales, just under the huge rock where the ruins of a Medieval castle can be visited. The village has plenty of tapas bars and restaurants. Two banks and two swimming pools which are open in the summer months. It is an ideal spot whether you want to relax and unwind in the beautiful Spanish countryside or prefer a more active holiday. Ideal base for touring, walking, biking, climbing, bird watching etc, Or just relax and enjoy.
The 'pueblo' of Ardales is a typical Andalucian whitewashed mountain village. The village plaza buzzes with life and local families sit out enjoying a drink with friends late into the summer evenings. The village has a selection of shops, banks, bars, restaurants and two swimming pools. Ardales is situated at the edge of Ardales National Park which is one of Spain's best kept secrets. The park consists of a series of turquoise lakes set in magnificent mountain scenery ideal for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, bird watching etc.. Close by is the famous El Chorro gorge and the Ardales caves. Also the village of Carratraca with it´s Roman baths and authentic Bull ring.
This is the real Spain, yet only 40 minutes from the beaches of the Costa del Sol. The historic town of Ronda is approximately 45 minutes drive away and the great cities of Seville, Granada and Cordoba are all under 2 hours drive
