The 'pueblo' of Ardales is a typical Andalucian whitewashed mountain village. The village plaza buzzes with life and local families sit out enjoying a drink with friends late into the summer evenings. The village has a selection of shops, banks, bars, restaurants and two swimming pools. Ardales is situated at the edge of Ardales National Park which is one of Spain's best kept secrets. The park consists of a series of turquoise lakes set in magnificent mountain scenery ideal for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, bird watching etc.. Close by is the famous El Chorro gorge and the Ardales caves. Also the village of Carratraca with it´s Roman baths and authentic Bull ring.
