Welcome to Hill Flats DC!

Hill Flats DC is an owner managed luxury 1880 brownstone on the first residential block across the street from the Library of Congress and Folgers Shakespeare Theater. Just a short walk away you will have immediate access to the US Capitol, US Supreme Court, and The National Mall.

This is the ultimate location if you are looking for immediate walk-able access to all of Washington DC's historic sites.

The building is also just few blocks away from Eastern Market and Barracks Row. For public transportation the property is a short walk to Union Station and Capitol South Metro stops in addition to numerous bus lines.

There are dozens of restaurants, cafes, and bar's within a few minute walk. There is also a neighborhood grocery store around the corner. Capitol bike share is located nearby. Walkscore is 94.

The private apartment is on the first floor of a 4 unit historic 1880 building. The flat has been freshly remodeled and has a fully appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, and marble bathroom tile. For your sleeping arrangements we have 1 queen size pillow top mattress bed, 1 queen size combination spring + air sofa bed, and 1 full size combination spring + air sofa bed. We also have an additional queen size air mattress which is available upon request.

The unit comes with everything you need to make your stay comfortable.

This is one of the most charming and well preserved buildings on one of the most desired blocks in Washington DC.

Since being built in 1880 numerous Senators, Congressmen, artists, and academics have all resided at what is now Hill Flats.

The building was previously used as a lecture hall and residence for scholars conducting research at the Library of Congress which is across the street.

Due to the buildings immediate proximity to national monuments, the National Park Service and Washington DC has designated Hill Flats a Historic building and has registered it under the Capitol Overlay and Fine Arts District. This designation ensures that all preservation is conducted under the direction of the Architect of the Capitol.

Perfect location!

I had a wonderful stay recently with my family for my birthday weekend. We stayed here mid-October and this apartment was in a great location. No car is needed, bars, restaurants and sightseeing is all walking distance from this location. There is a little bit of wear and tear here and there but nothing that would keep me from renting again. When we checked in, everything was very clean and there is ample space throughout the unit. Gene was also very attentive and quick to respond to all my requests which was very helpful. Would stay here again :)

Beautiful place to stay and amazing location!

We stayed here for several days early this summer, and absolutely loved the property. The owner was so easy to work with, and confirmed the reservation quickly. He also provided a great list of local places to eat and shop nearby - so helpful! The building and unit are beautiful. So clean, and well maintained. The apartment was perfect for my family of four, and we loved having a kitchen to have things on hand for our kiddos. The neighborhood was amazing - beautiful trees, restaurants and bars just steps away, and everyone we met on the street was so nice. We walked everywhere! You can't beat the location - central to everything you would want to see near the Capitol and National Mall. We loved it, and can't wait to return again!

This property is absolutely perfect for touring DC. It is 2 blocks from the Capital and across the street from the Library of Congress. Very nicely appointed and maintained. Very modern kitchen and bath. Renters need to keep in mind that this is a row house and is exactly that. Must go through the living room to get to the kitchen then through one bedroom to get to the next then through the 2nd bedroom to get to the bath. Great for a family, but hard if someone needs privacy! This is a great rental.

Great Location For Visiting DC Attractions

We really enjoyed our stay in this property and found that it was accurately depicted in the listing. The neighborhood was just great and we found grocery stores nearby and found several good places to eat nearby on Pennsylvania Ave, just a short walk from the unit. The best part about it was the close proximity to the DC attractions we wanted to visit so we were able to walk to many places. The train station was only a few blocks away where we caught tour buses to visit all the monuments. An excellent place to stay in DC and I would absolutely stay there again.
