Lovely Holiday Break

  • Review Submitted: 30-Oct-2013
  • Date of Stay: Jul 2013
This was the second time me and my friends had booked Dyfrryn house in the summer as we fully enjoyed our first weeks stay in 2012. Returning back to the house you could see the changes Laura had made to make it an even better stay. It is in such a lovely location, 2 minutes walk to the corner shop and about 5 minutes drive from a super market. We visited Kidwelly castle which was a nice morning out, and we went to the beaches a lot and did some crabbing! We also visited the Pembrey country park and played mini golf. There is lots to do and for all ages as we were aged 18-20.
Hot tub was a huge hit with everyone and we also had the games room on our second stay which was nice.
Laura and Andy are always available to ring or email if you needed anything which is always reasuring.

The house has so much space and makes you feel at home, and you can always find your own space to relax in. We had the heatwave week in July so sunbathing in the garden was good.

Overall it was a lovely stay and its very good for your money.

Amazing Family Holiday Home

  • Review Submitted: 03-Sep-2013
  • Date of Stay: Jul 2013
From beginning to end our holiday was simply amazing. We booked the house very last minute at a great price, communication with the owners was fast, easy and straightforward. We were a large family with many children and the house suited our needs perfectly. The kids loved the massive secure garden, adults loved the games room as well as playing ball games in garden and everyone loved hot tub (shame we didnt use it more). We complained about freezer not working and within the day had a brand new fridge/freezer. We loved the beaches, beautiful clean sand and stunning views. We went to Ferryside Beach which is closest, with free parking on beach, very quiet and perfect for us. Then we went to Pembrey Country Park, small charge to enter, but lots to do, including horse riding, tobogganing, playground as well as another glorious beach with safe swimming. We drove all the way to Tenby, approx 1 hour, and went speed-boating, probably the highlight of our holiday. We enjoyed the local area too. Neighbors are very friendly, small park for kids nearby was great, the spar shop on the corner was useful and co-op shop is great for more variety. There's a good selection of DVDs, the wifi was a great bonus, plenty of seating for everyone, and all in all we had a wonderful holiday. Thanks Laura and Andy, we hope to see you again!

Very nice property, enjoyed our stay very much. Ideal for large groups/families, very spacious. Hot tub was great.
Directly opposite Kidwelly castle which was great, a few miles from Camarthen bay and Pembrey beach.
Local farm shop down the road as well as convenience store on the next block.
Looking forward to booking again.

Brilliant Holiday

  • Review Submitted: 03-Sep-2013
  • Date of Stay: May 2013
As soon as we arrived at the cottage I fell in love with it. Its set in a quiet village with a shop and brilliant pub within walking distance. We met the owners, Laura and Andy at the cottage. They were very friendly, showing us around and telling us how things worked. There was plenty of room for our group (10 adults and 4 children).
The children loved playing in the garden, whilst the adults loved playing in the hot tub. We did have a few issues, the dishwasher kept tripping the power and a couple of the mattresses were very worn. Laura did keep in touch making sure everything was okay so I did mention the problems we occurred. She was very apologetic and said that these have now been rectified. We still had a fantastic holiday. The good house keeping money was returned quickly without me even asking for it. Thank you Laura and Andy.

WOW!

  • Review Submitted: 08-Apr-2013
  • Date of Stay: Mar 2013
Wow! We loved this house and will be back. Booked a last minute break and were not disappointed. Owners went out of their way to meet us late on the Friday night and showed us how everything worked and how to use the Hot Tub safely -it was ready, hot, and waiting for us which was amazing after a long drive. We now all want one at home, a massive plus throughout the weekend and literally spent hours in it. The gardens were big and well looked after and private, which was nice for hot tub use. Plenty of parking space - we had 5 cars, which easily fitted on the drive. The house was immaculate, spacious and had everything we needed to be totally comfortable, the heating was on when we arrived and it was very cosy. We were a bit concerned about the appliances after reading a review saying the dishwasher and fridge were temperamental - but we had no issues and there are actually 3 fridges, one under unit in the kitchen (built in), one small and one tall fridge/freezer in the utility room and all worked fine. The showers worked fine for our group. There is an ancient castle directly opposite and we walked round it which was lovely and took about 40 minutes. We didn't have children in our group this time but noticed a little park over the road which would be ideal for those with children. The Masons Arms pub, literally 1 minute walk away, was fun on the Saturday night, cocktails and games of pool amused all! We had a great time and were well looked after and thought the house was awesome all round. The only down point was there was no broadband there when we stayed, but the owners said they were having it put in as they keep getting asked for it so that will be great next time we visit. A final point to mention was that we received our housekeeping deposit back in full within 7 days - with an offer of FREE hot tub use if we make another booking within 3 months which we definitely intend to do.

The ancient town of Kidwelly is a beautiful location with it's own 10th century castle. There are nearby beaches at Ferryside and over 10 miles of sandy beach only a couple of miles away at Cefn Sidan. One of the oldest pubs in Wales is only 1 minute walk away and the castle, nearest shop and tea rooms are all less than 5 minutes walk away. It is also an ideal location for Carmarthen and Llanelli towns, Aberglasney and National Botanic Gardens, Ffos Las Race Course, Pembrey Race Course, Pembrey Country Park and within easy reach of Pembrokeshire, Brecon Beacons and Gower Peninsula.
