Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday farmhouse in Urbino - La Casina Nuova At Valle Nuova
2 Bed, 2 Bath 6 Sleeps
Enjoy a relaxing holiday in our big organic farm in Northern Le Marche in sight of the UNESCO Heritage site of Urbino.
Perfect for touring Central Italy (Gubbio, Arezzo, San Sepolcro, Città di Castello and San Marino are easy daytrips from the farm), exploring the beautiful unknown hilltop towns of Le Marche (such as San Leo, Mondavio, Piobbico and many more), walking or horse riding through the beautiful countryside (where ancient oaks are still protected as in the times of the Dukes of Montefeltro) or simply relax by the pool enjoying the sweeping view of the landscape.
After ten years running an Organic country inn in northern Le Marche we have now added three self-catering apartments to the existing structure.
The apartment, La Casina Nuova, stands 500 metres from the main building and the pool, it's a comfortable apartment (ground floor) with a sitting/dining room, full kitchen, double bedroom with comfortable queen size bed and large storage area and en-suite bathroom with shower, wc, bidet and a big bedroom with large and comfortable twin beds (that can be made into a king size bed without you noticing that it's two attached beds) with private bathroom with shower, wc, bidet and washing machine.
The kitchen is complete with fridge and freezer, oven, coffee machine, toaster and all the utensils, crockery and tableware that you need to prepare and enjoy your meals at the Casina. You'll also find a welcome basket with some items from the farm storeroom for you not to miss our wine, jams, juices, bread and fresh organic eggs.
The apartment is very cool even during the hottest seasons because it faces North, just make sure to keep the windows shut during the day (and open during the night if you wish, there are mosquito screens).
Step outside and you'll find yourself in your own private porch with table and chairs for 4 people to enjoy your meals al fresco (it's very cool even during the hottest months) and bit of garden surrounded by the amazing hills of the Montefeltro. Near the main house, you'll find a swimming pool that you share with the other guests of the Locanda.
A free wifi connection is available for you to use and, should you need it, you can borrow a mobile phone (you can use it for receiving calls only or recharge the sim card and make calls).
In the main building there's a wide choice of maps, information and books that you're very welcome to use.
We will be at your disposal to suggest itineraries, restaurants and to share with you our tiny secrets about this beautiful and little known area.
The Casina is a no smoking apartment (you're welcome to smoke outside, but please be careful during summer!)
Sorry no pets, we have cats in the farm (never allowed in the apartments).
Visit our website or our blog for information and photos of the area and don't hesitate and contact us for any question or special needs.
We give cooking classes: learn the secrets of an Italian family kitchen, farm to table experience with information about the ingredients, traditions, tricks, do and donts of real Italian cooking.
We can suggest gorgeous food and wine tours with an expert English speaking guide.
We organize truffle hunts with our neighbor and his dog.

Giulia purchased this farmhouse in 1981
Why Giulia chose Urbino
In the late 70’ my parents, an architect who designed mainly hotels, from the building to the furniture, and a housewife and mother with a great interest in herbalism and gardening decided to leave the city and start a new life as organic farmers. They started looking for the farm of their dreams, difficult task since most agricultural areas were already seriously polluted or devoted to highly chemical agriculture. In the early 80’ they decided that Le Marche was ideal. Agriculture in this hilly area was still quite “traditional” and Urbino would assure a lively place to live where culture could be found along with beautiful landscapes, surrounded by other beautiful hilltop towns in this region, described as 'Italy's best kept secret'.
What makes this farmhouse unique
Enjoy Northern Le Marche from your own private hideaway, our apartments are perfectly located for you to enjoy the quietness of the countryside and easily reach all the hilltop towns, archaeological and natural sites. We've been living in the area for a long time and we know a lot about architecture, art, gastronomy and nature and speak good English and Spanish to help our guests get the best from their visit.
Our guests say:
'The apartment has been recently finished to the highest standard and is beautifully decorated and organised - if only our home could be that well designed! Everything you could want for a self-catering holiday is provided: One bedroom (v. comfy bed), living room / dining room with a sofa bed (actually a very comfy sofa - unusual for a sofa bed); well fitted kitchen and bathroom and utility room. The terrace faces south and is covered by gorgeous sunshine for the whole day. There are two sun loungers, a table and chairs and a parasol to make it comfortable. If it gets too hot you can retreat inside which, due to the good insulation (do keep the blinds down and windows closed), keeps the apartment cool. When it is really hot you can walk up the farm track to the main building, which is a B&B, and jump into the lovely pool, which also has a great view. Couldn't think of a nicer place just to unwind. And as for the hostess, she makes you extremely welcome and can answer all you questions.
