About this property

Moosehead- Greenville Maine area. Snowmobile, ATV, Your private vacation cabin!

A Private peaceful cabin escape (with Bathroom and Shower- VRBO' header says "0" in error) surrounded with nature . Secluded and tucked away all by itself but only 12 mins from Greenville and Moosehead Lake. You are the ONLY cabin on Bunker Pond ! Directly on ITS 85 South for ATV, biking and snowmobile trails ! Rentals available in Greenville. This is the place if you really want to relax. Spacious areas to roam ….small fields with wild raspberries, blueberries and fruit trees along the 1,000 foot gated driveway that winds thru the woods and out behind the pond. The cabin sits on a knoll overlooking Bunker Pond capturing beautiful sunsets. You are the only cabin on the pond—This is privacy at its best! The Appalachian trail crosses less than 3 miles south of driveway. The Railroad bed with all tracks removed, is for biking and 4 wheeling and snowmobiling connects just 300 yards south and 500 yards North with direct access from the end of my driveway! it is called ITS 85 South , on the expansive trail system and It goes straight to Greenville Junction. ATV's and snowmobile rentals . Winter bocce course on 1,000 foot driveway for extreme bocce. Greenville shops and restaurants and a full service Trading post on Indian Hill featuring: Sporting goods, clothing, and a full service grocery store just minutes away. The View from Blair Hill is a mile North of town…don’t miss it. Beyond that 25 min is the infamous B-52 crash site which is a short 40 yard walk from your car to the beginning of the debris field. Mount Kineo is a great hike to the fire tower offering a breath taking 360 degree view of majestic Moosehead Lake. Moosehead Lake (+75,000 acres) is the largest fresh water lake East of the Mississippi that is all within the confines of one State. More good restaurants than the list Vrbo provided. I can suggest for you. Enjoy the Massive woodlands with countless gravel roads and trails for exploring. World class Landlocked Salmon and Brook Trout fly fishing with guided float boat trips on the East Outlet or West Branch of the Penobscot rivers….even if you never fly fished before these guides will do all the work and catch you fish! Try a half day and you may get hooked ! They have all the equipment for you. If you want to try and see North Americas largest game animal, try a guided Moose safari trip. Seaplane rides out of Greenville are spectacular. Venture out for a day in paradise and retreat back to your private secluded cabin for relaxation at its best. Special note for 2024: In reading some of the reviews you will see mentioned an outdoor wood fired cedar hot tub. There is no more hot tub. Sorry, Last year(2023) was its last year in service. I have removed it from amenities.

No complaints here!
Impossible to even think of one negative thing to say about this cozy perfect little cabin in the woods. Tom, the owner, is one of the nicest most genuine people my husband and I have ever met! He was there from start to finish making sure we had everything we needed along the way. He even had welcome gifts for us and treats for the dogs! You can definitely tell how much pride he has for this entire camp and really wants to share his little slice of heaven he built with people. There’s so much to do in the area and at the camp, we feel like we barely scratched the surface while we were here. We’re already planning our trip back next year though I think we will try to come when it’s a bit warmer so we can really enjoy everything the camp has to offer! Thank you so much Tom for allowing us to stay in your home! Erika and Andy

Holiday weekend getaway
5 stars! Great location to unplug and spend some quality time with family. The five of us and our dog enjoyed the wonderful outdoors for Labor Day weekend. We did not need to leave the property for the entire weekend. Enjoyed the water paddle boarding, swimming, and cruising around on the pond. Relaxed on the porch, in the hot tub, and by the fire pit. Weather was perfect and Tom was a great host. He truly wanted to make sure we enjoyed our time at his cabin. He went above and beyond. Can’t wait to go back and stay for a full week.

Perfect place to literally get off the grid
Tom's place is perfect to get off the grid and unwind, and the pictures don't do it justice. It's as private as you can get and there's enough to do on the property itself to warrant not leaving the cabin for the entire trip, but it's location also serves as a perfect spot to plan numerous day trips from. It's a toss up for who loved the property the most, us or our dogs. They had so much fun swimming in the pond, running in the fields, and exploring Moosehead Lake with us just about every day. The best part of the cabin - the cedar hot tub. It's the perfect spot for morning coffee and/or a drink to the end the day. Tom made sure we were comfortable with the off grid workings of the cabin, was quick to respond, and very helpful with any questions we had. It was a very enjoyable week.

Book it! You’ll love it!
We had the pleasure of staying for a second time at Tom’s Cabin. We were just as happy and impressed as the first stay. Tom greeted us when we arrived as if we were family visiting. His gift basket was made with love and thoughtfulness with our family in mind. He was always available and wanted to know if we needed anything. My family, consisting of my husband, my 20 year old son, 15 year old daughter, 11 year old daughter and 2 year old golden retriever enjoyed swimming in the pond, kayaking, fishing, playing corn hole, relaxing in the hot tub, cooking meals, playing games and venturing into town. We felt comfortable and relaxed. It was a vacation that will always be remembered. Tom made sure that everything was ready for us to have an incredible week.

A piece of heaven and a true gem !
Every so often we find a place that has so much character, and you can just feel how well loved it is. This is the place. Everything about the cabin and its beautiful grounds tell a story, and Tom is like the old friend you just met but instantly connect to and feel like you’ve known forever . His love and care for this cabin and land is the second to none. So many special touches, from the Cedar hot tub to the solar pontoon deck (a must do!) to all of the wonderful things to explore inside the cabin our only complaint is we had to go home so soon. Tom thought of everything, and makes you feel like family. He is 1000% invested in his guests comfort and happiness. Super private ( I mean, you have an entire trout stocked pond to yourself!) yet close to all that Greenville and Moosehead has to offer. The home is cozy and comfortable, well stocked and a great place to come “home” after a day in the woods! Wonderful landscaping that attracts and sustains the beautiful wildlife that thrive here. Don’t let a solar powered house deter you… all of the comforts of home are here!! We can’t wait to return, thank you Tom for your hospitality and sharing your piece of heaven with us!! We did not ride ATVs on this trip but noted how convenient this place is to the great trail system in the area. We enjoyed exploring all of the back roads, mountain roads and logging roads in our Jeep. Caught trout in the pond and saw moose and deer on the way into town almost daily! Simply wonderful!!

Why they chose this property

My grandfather spent years fishing and hunting in the Moosehead Lake region. I fell in love with the lore of the Indians and Lumberjacks from yesteryear. The old Maine Guides; The old camps and cabins; Seasoned outdoorsmen and women. I was drawn to the feeling of getting away to the Great North Woods. Big woods gave me a sense of freedom --the peace the area gave me.

What makes this property unique

I love the fact that I am in the Great North Woods, yet only 12 minutes to Greenville at the Southern tip of Moosehead lake...with all its shops and restaurants. Also it is just under 3 hours from Portland. It is a very private setting....very quiet....peaceful....the trout pond and being the only cabin on it, you are spoiled by beautiful sunsets; sunrises; the wildlife that visit; all for yourself. Float on the pond on the solar powered pontoon deck with silent motor and swim ladder. The night sky can be dazzling with thousands of stars. Full and 3/4 moon nights are incredibly bright --you can see well without flashlights!
