My grandfather spent years fishing and hunting in the Moosehead Lake region. I fell in love with the lore of the Indians and Lumberjacks from yesteryear. The old Maine Guides; The old camps and cabins; I was drawn to the feeling of getting away to the Great North Woods. Big woods gave me a sense of being lost in paradise---the peace the area gave me.
I love the fact that I am in the Great North Woods, yet only 10 minutes to Greenville at the Southern tip of Moosehead lake...with all its shops and restaurants. Also it is just under 3 hours from Portland. It is a very private setting....very quiet....peaceful....I own all the land around the trout pond and being the only cabin on it, you are spoiled by beautiful sunsets;sunrises;the wildlife that visit; all for yourself.... and the night sky can be dazzling. Full moon nights are incredibly bright --you can see well without flashlights!
Just spent an amazing week in paradise with my husband, 2 children, parents and our dog. No one wanted to leave, even my mother who was hesitant in the beginning. Tom, the owner, was wonderful. His description and pictures of the cabin were spot on. He was so helpful with information on getting to the cabin and made us all feel so welcomed. He was also wonderful with my children, making sure they were aware of the wildlife and things to do around the cabin. They loved fishing with the traps off the dock that Tom set up for them. It kept them busy all week. The cabin itself was so clean and had everything you would need for the week. The pond was beautiful. We enjoyed fishing on the pontoon barge and watching the sunsets. It was so relaxing waking up every morning and looking out at the view from the deck. It was the perfect place for our children and our dog to run around outside and enjoy the outdoors. We where able to visit the town of Greenville to eat when not barbecuing on the deck. An amazing time was had by us all. Thanks Tom for having an amazing cabin and allowing us the opportunity to spend time it.
We stayed here to get away from it all, and it was everything it promised and more. Pictures cannot explain how beautiful of a place it is. Or how peaceful it was just sitting out in the middle of the pond hearing nothing except either the music (we loved the sounds of the area CD the best) from the house or just the sounds of nature. The cabin was decorated just right to fit had anything you needed. On our first morning there we saw a moose in the pond and deer right outside the cabin, and lots of rabbits. After fun days climbing Mt. Kineo, white water rafting, exploring, and utilizing the ATV’s soaking in the hot tub or sitting beside the fire pit was a perfect way to end any evening. Tom was a great guy to work with who accommodated our schedule and made sure we were taken care of before letting us enjoy the seclusion and comfort of his cabin. The only bad part was that our time here ended way too soon. Thanks Tom!
Paradise...it sure was named appropriately. My husband and I spent a week there wishing we had a life time!!! Raw natural beauty surrounds you, the sounds of the wild, the beautiful sunsets, seeing the wildlife and total privacy. ATV trails that go for miles and miles in all directions with access right from the cabin. The cabin was cozy and decorated with a natural beauty. Tom (owner) was a pleasure to deal with, an all around great guy. If you love nature, water, total privacy and wildlife you will love it. We plan on going back for sure...our best vacation ever!!! Take plenty of "Deep Woods Off" to camp with you. I will say though, it was well worth every bite! Thank you Tom.
My husband and I went the first week of June. Tom, the owner, was there to greet us when we arrived. He explained everything and was very generous in letting us use whatever he had available at the cabin. It was extremely relaxing and secluded, just what we needed to get away from the stress of our jobs. We had a great time listening to the loon on the pond and taking pictures of wildlife. I highly recommend this cabin to those who need to get-a-way and relax.
