Light, airy, 3 bedroom flat, close to Notting Hill, Easy to get to any location

Lovely, comfortable, clean, first floor flat in RBKC, North Kensington. 3 Bedrooms, sleeps 6 near to the BBC. Quiet road, parks and transport on your door step. White City tube 13 minutes walk or take the bus. No 7 Bus goes into the West End.

A cosy, warm, comfortable, light and above all practical, tastefully furnished, first floor family apartment in W10 in the prestigious Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC). North Kensington. Zone 2.

Recently decorated, 3 double bedrooms (sleeps 6), 2 bathrooms, practical kitchen with dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, large fridge and freezer. Washing machine plus dryer. Pretty little balcony out from kitchen. Wall to wall light wool carpet. Original wooden sash windows. Working gas fire in living room. Cotton linen and towels provided.

Bracewell Road is a cherry tree lined street with two parks right on our doorstep. The smaller one 'Little Wormwood Scrubs', has an outdoor gym, adventure playground, and lovely walking spaces. The larger one 'Wormwood Scrubs Park' (top of the road turn left and cross road) is worth taking a walk around or even a run. Bracewell Road is a quiet, safe area with friendly neighbours.

All amenities are close by and within a few minutes walk. The No 7 bus at the top of our road goes to Portobello Market, Paddington Station (Heathrow Express) Oxford street and the West End. The No 70 goes direction Queensway and Hyde Park, or change onto the No 52 bus at Ladbroke Grove for Harrods, Victoria Station and The Tower of London. The undergrounds (2 different ones, 2 different lines) are about 12 minutes walk. Westfield, the biggest shopping centre in Europe, is 15 minutes walk or take the bus. It boasts amazing shops, cinemas and a huge selection of restaurants. I suggest when you arrive at my house you obtain from the little shops at the top of my road, an Oyster Card. This is a 'top up card', costs £5 and essential for traveling around on public transport and will save you money. Redeemable on your departure. Or buy a London Pass on-line.

A small supermarket (Tesco) is at the top of our road and sells the essentials, conveniently open from 6am to 11pm, 7 days a week. And a traditional English pub The Pavilion is 5 minutes walk. Great for a traditional Sunday lunch. There is also a chemist, a kebab house, well known Fish and Chips shop, a hairdresser and nail bar.

There is a Thai restaurant really close by with delicious food, great takeaway too. And of course Portobello has lots of lovely places to eat and drink. The Market is on all week but the famous days are Friday and Saturdays.

If you're renting a car there are meters at the top of the road (£1.10 an hour, max stay 5 hrs), and a free parking road not far but it's usually very hard to get a space. Outside our house is not permitted to park.

My husband and I recently moved to our flat in central Barcelona where we run painting and sketching holidays (la-terraza-atico), so my lovely daughter Saskia, who lives in our ground floor flat, will welcome you, tell you about the area and manage our family home whilst we are away.

Please note, Notting Hill Gate is about 1.7 miles/35 mins walk away. We are Ladbroke Grove area, North Kensington. Take a look at Google maps and you'll see exactly where we are.

PS: May I suggest a very good cab company should you need collecting from Heathrow or any of the other London airports. This cab company is cheap and reliable and I have been using them for years. They are called 'Just Airports' and can be found on the web, based in Wembley.

HOUSEKEEPING:

*Damage Deposit in cash £250 (or the equivalent in your own currency) to be given to Saskia on check-in and returned, provided no damage has occurred, on check out.

*Check-in after 16:00 (and before 22:30, unless discussed with me)

*Check-out before 11:00 please

*Please leave £40 for Maria the cleaner in cash on your departure.

HOUSE RULES:

Please bring a copy of your passport and show ID, also the Rental Agreement needs to be signed.

No smoking in the house.

Close doors, especially front door Quietly and respect the neighbours.

Keep noise to a minimum.

NO PARTIES!

No shoes indoors please (on white carpets, leave outside kitchen).

Be safety conscious. Lock windows with window locks before going out.

Comprehensive travel insurance is a MUST, to cover you for all eventualities including cancellation.

About Angela Raymonde-Cutler

I am happily married to Paul and a mother to two beautiful girls and now a grandmother. I spend most holidays in Ibiza where my family live and where my children went to school. I brought my family back to London in 1998 so that my children could finish their education and go to University in the UK.

I've been a freelance personal assistant to wealthy clients and as a hobby imported Italian, boutique wine to London. My husband Paul is an artist and for the present is tutoring guests in watercolour painting and sketching. We tutor these holidays in our flat in Barcelona, where i manage the catering and day to day running of our website. My children live in London and my family are spread around the globe.

I bought my property thinking that i would refurbish, add the attic room, which i did, and then sell and move closer to Notting Hill Gate. But the property market moved up so quickly that i was priced out within the year! We bought the flat downstairs instead, now own the house and i'm so happy that i didn't sell as everyone seems to be moving down to my area!

What makes this apartment unique

My flat has a lovely, homely feel to it! And the fact that Saskia is so welcoming adds to the attraction.

It's incredibly easy to commute into the centre of town for tourist attractions, theatre, opera, shopping etc, but our area with Portobello Road and it's wonderful restaurants and cafes and clubs really has everything i need and want.

Family Vacation to London

We were looking for a flat that could accommodate 6 for a family vacation to London and this one turned out to be ideal. The listing was spot-on accurate and the flat was well-maintained and comfortable for a family. The kitchen appliances were well-kept as we used them often for meals in. The garden deck off the kitchen is a nice spot to have an early morning tea or a late afternoon / evening pint.

It's location relative to the Underground (White City Station / Central Line) & Bus lines (#220) was very convenient as we used both extensively during our visit to numerous London attractions. The pub around the corner was reasonably priced, good food and had friendly staff. The Westfield Mall is excellent, with movie theaters, mid-range and high-end shopping, and other amenities available.

Both Angela and Saskia were responsive to inquiries quickly and very helpful. This made logistics much easier for us in arriving and in getting around. I would strongly recommending booking this flat and I will re-book if I have the opportunity to return to London.

Lovely flat made perfect by graciousness.

Loved, loved, loved staying in this flat. Plenty of room for 5 adults to spread out, a very nicely equipped kitchen for meals, lovely balcony and restful decor. It was a bit of a walk to the underground station, but the convenience of Tesco for groceries, the local restaurants and nearby park made up for the walk. If you have the time in your schedule, pick up food for a picnic and head down to the park. We went all over London using the bus and underground. The flat looks exactly like the photos posted here. I would and have recommended this flat to others.
The highlight of our stay was our interactions with Kaskia. She is absolutely delightful and treated us as if we were members of her extended family. She helped with information advice and cabs. She defines gracious hostess.

Great place for a toddler and her family!

This is a charming house - multi-level, comfortable, lots of art and books, well- appointed kitchen, roomy. We (family of four and toddler) all had space and could eat together and cook - it's a great location. We loved having a Tesco so close-by, and got good at walking (or taking the bus quickly) to White City tube stop - and then central London just a few stops away.
The best thing about this house is Saskia (well, Angela also). They are warm and welcoming - lots of helpful information (and helped me realize I could easily order a stroller by "click and pick up" from Tesco), so easy to deal with (always answer emails, deposit returned promptly) - the things that make renting either a pain or a pleasure (the latter in this case).
Saskia went above and beyond and left us a few most cherished toys for the 2 1/2 year old, helped us locate the nearby and very good park, and answered any questions.
It was really like having a "London house" of our own for a week.

Charming, but beware the smell

We received a warm welcome and I wish I didn't have anything bad to say, but the smell was unbearable. This was a comfortable, charming home with just a little wear and tear, and we would have enjoyed our stay there except for a terrible skunky smell that permeated the place, especially the living room. It smelled exactly like a dead mouse. The owner said they had had the problem before and couldn't find anything. Their solution was to buy us Febreeze. I still couldn't sit in the living room, even with all the windows open. I missed some fun family time and it wasn't pleasant to come home to after a long day of sightseeing. The location also seemed kind of remote.

Obviously i am shocked and saddened by your negative response and 1 star is unfair but thankfully you are the only negative guest out of over 35 families who have stayed in my home in the last year, as the written response in my guest book in my house proves. No complaints just positive responses and gratefulness. Saskia went out of her way to be charming and make your stay as comfortable as possible. She is also sad by your review (mainly the 1 star). And as for the 'smell', we haven't had any complaints or even comments in the past so i am sorry about that. Also we wondered why you left a glowing note in our guest book and then changed your minds?
My location as a Londoner is prime, you would have paid thousands more to rent a 3 bedroomed house in central London. I hope i make my location clear in my description.
But i hope you at least enjoyed our great city with all it's attractions.

Wonderful stay! Saskia was very friendly and helpful. Good location, small grocer, restaurants, take away food nearby. Nice pub (the Pavilion) around the corner. Need to climb one flight of stairs(8-10 steps) to reach flat. Good access to public transportation. All in all a nice place to stay and would recommend!

Bracewell Road is very convenient for most things that you may want to do in London. White City tube station (central line) is in walking distance or a short bus ride which gives the visitor access to London. No 7 bus stops at the top of our road and goes via Ladbroke Grove and Portobello (15 mins walk) to Oxford Street. Great for sightseeing and much cheaper than the tourist bus! An Oyster card is essential for London transport and can be bought at the shop at the top of the road. The Pavilion Pub, again just up our road, serves typical english pub food and has a great selection of beers. The little Thai restaurant on Dalgano Gardens is definitely worth a try, book though as it's always full! Tescos, a small supermarket, is at the top of our road, open 6am - 11pm 7 days a week.

Bracewell Road is leafy and friendly Road with shops at the top of the road and 2 lovely parks at the other end.

  • Bedroom 1 on the first floor has a comfortable, queen sized double bed and ample cupboard space. Window west facing. Shower room on same floor. Bedroom 2 on the 2nd floor is light with a queen sized comfortable bed. Lots of cupboard space. Next to bathroom. West facing. The Attic room, has a comfortable double bed (queen). Ample cupboard space and 2 chest of drawers. Not suitable for very tall people as ceiling is low. All Velux windows have blackout blinds. This is my favorite room!
