Lovely, comfortable, clean, first floor flat in RBKC, North Kensington. 3 Bedrooms, sleeps 6 near to the BBC. Quiet road, parks and transport on your door step. White City tube 13 minutes walk or take the bus. No 7 Bus goes into the West End.
A cosy, warm, comfortable, light and above all practical, tastefully furnished, first floor family apartment in W10 in the prestigious Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC). North Kensington. Zone 2.
Recently decorated, 3 double bedrooms (sleeps 6), 2 bathrooms, practical kitchen with dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, large fridge and freezer. Washing machine plus dryer. Pretty little balcony out from kitchen. Wall to wall light wool carpet. Original wooden sash windows. Working gas fire in living room. Cotton linen and towels provided.
Bracewell Road is a cherry tree lined street with two parks right on our doorstep. The smaller one 'Little Wormwood Scrubs', has an outdoor gym, adventure playground, and lovely walking spaces. The larger one 'Wormwood Scrubs Park' (top of the road turn left and cross road) is worth taking a walk around or even a run. Bracewell Road is a quiet, safe area with friendly neighbours.
All amenities are close by and within a few minutes walk. The No 7 bus at the top of our road goes to Portobello Market, Paddington Station (Heathrow Express) Oxford street and the West End. The No 70 goes direction Queensway and Hyde Park, or change onto the No 52 bus at Ladbroke Grove for Harrods, Victoria Station and The Tower of London. The undergrounds (2 different ones, 2 different lines) are about 12 minutes walk. Westfield, the biggest shopping centre in Europe, is 15 minutes walk or take the bus. It boasts amazing shops, cinemas and a huge selection of restaurants. I suggest when you arrive at my house you obtain from the little shops at the top of my road, an Oyster Card. This is a 'top up card', costs £5 and essential for traveling around on public transport and will save you money. Redeemable on your departure. Or buy a London Pass on-line.
A small supermarket (Tesco) is at the top of our road and sells the essentials, conveniently open from 6am to 11pm, 7 days a week. And a traditional English pub The Pavilion is 5 minutes walk. Great for a traditional Sunday lunch. There is also a chemist, a kebab house, well known Fish and Chips shop, a hairdresser and nail bar.
There is a Thai restaurant really close by with delicious food, great takeaway too. And of course Portobello has lots of lovely places to eat and drink. The Market is on all week but the famous days are Friday and Saturdays.
If you're renting a car there are meters at the top of the road (£1.10 an hour, max stay 5 hrs), and a free parking road not far but it's usually very hard to get a space. Outside our house is not permitted to park.
My husband and I recently moved to our flat in central Barcelona where we run painting and sketching holidays (la-terraza-atico), so my lovely daughter Saskia, who lives in our ground floor flat, will welcome you, tell you about the area and manage our family home whilst we are away.
Please note, Notting Hill Gate is about 1.7 miles/35 mins walk away. We are Ladbroke Grove area, North Kensington. Take a look at Google maps and you'll see exactly where we are.
PS: May I suggest a very good cab company should you need collecting from Heathrow or any of the other London airports. This cab company is cheap and reliable and I have been using them for years. They are called 'Just Airports' and can be found on the web, based in Wembley.

Close doors, especially front door Quietly and respect the neighbours.
Keep noise to a minimum.
No shoes indoors please (on white carpets, leave outside kitchen).
Be safety conscious. Lock windows with window locks before going out.
Comprehensive travel insurance is a MUST, to cover you for all eventualities including cancellation.

I am happily married to Paul and a mother to two beautiful girls and now a grandmother. I spend most holidays in Ibiza where my family live and where my children went to school. I brought my family back to London in 1998 so that my children could finish their education and go to University in the UK.
I've been a freelance personal assistant to wealthy clients and as a hobby imported Italian, boutique wine to London. My husband Paul is an artist and for the present is tutoring guests in watercolour painting and sketching. We tutor these holidays in our flat in Barcelona, where i manage the catering and day to day running of our website. My children live in London and my family are spread around the globe.

I bought my property thinking that i would refurbish, add the attic room, which i did, and then sell and move closer to Notting Hill Gate. But the property market moved up so quickly that i was priced out within the year! We bought the flat downstairs instead, now own the house and i'm so happy that i didn't sell as everyone seems to be moving down to my area!
What makes this apartment unique
My flat has a lovely, homely feel to it! And the fact that Saskia is so welcoming adds to the attraction.
It's incredibly easy to commute into the centre of town for tourist attractions, theatre, opera, shopping etc, but our area with Portobello Road and it's wonderful restaurants and cafes and clubs really has everything i need and want.
