Charming character cottage with panoramic views

Having decided to find a cottage at short notice I was very pleased by the simplicity and efficiency of the booking arrangements. Our short 3 night break was just what we needed. We drove down through Mid Wales to avoid motorway driving which added to the enjoyment of our first day. From the directions you provided finding the cottage was very simple and after our four hour journey being able to collapse onto the suite in the sun lounge was ideal. What a view!! I had used google maps to get some idea of the location but the photographs on the Internet do not do it justice. Fantastic sea scapes, beautiful sun rises and the sound of the waves all from every window in the cottage, but especially the sun lounge. Pendine had everything we needed and apart from a brief visit to Tenby and Saundersfoot the car remained in the parking spot.
The cottage is well equipped but honestly all that was needed for a perfectly relaxing break was the location, a good book, the sun lounge and those views!! We have stayed in many cottages over the years but have never stayed in the same one twice. Gorse Hill may be the exception to the rule.

Our family (children 2 and 6) enjoyed a marvellous stay at this cottage.

The owner arranged all formalities efficiently and responded to any queries comprehensively and promptly.

Upon arrival we found the cottage in excellent shape and heartily agree with the consensus on the view! Unfortunately we can not comment on the surrounding area or even the cliff-side walks, as all our days drifted by happily wandering down to the beach to build sandcastles and go rock pooling!

The pub was indeed excellent. We brought our own food, but found two shops well stocked for top-ups and with very convenient opening hours, as well as a beach / souvenir shop and several take-aways. Everyone extremely welcoming.

Good selection of DVDs, games and plenty of books for adults and children to wind away wet days or dark evenings..

Would recommend to anyone! We did not want to leave.

Myself and my children aged 17 and 15 stayed at Gorse Hill Cottage last week and what a fabulous place it is.

The cottage is exactly as described on the website and all the reviews below, I agree with every single one. It was clean, tidy, spacious, very comfortable and equipped for anything even down to the pint of milk, tea and coffee awaiting our arrival, we could not of asked for anything more. The games and jigsaws came in handy on the very wet Bank Holiday Monday, the kids loved them and we had such a laugh playing snakes and ladders, card games and jigsaws’, something you would not do whilst at home, having the Wi-Fi connection was a bonus too! The beach was beautiful both morning and evening, the hill walks just up from 'The Point Café' were amazing we sat on the hill most days just admiring the views.

The Springwell Inn at the bottom of the garden served excellent food, their mushroom stroganoff was to die for, I would recommend booking for a Friday or Saturday night though because very busy. The Café next door to the pub served delicious baguettes and jacket potatoes they all came with a side salad and crisps; we had our lunch their everyday bar one. We only stayed a week but so wished it was longer, only used the car once and that was to go to Tenby and Saundersfoot and both were very busy felt relieved coming back to Pendine everything being so quiet, relaxing and the locals so helpful and friendly. Our week was perfect until it was time to come home, neither of us wanted to leave, but work and school were waiting for us. I am guessing where the car had not been used for a few days it had a flat battery, I panicked, stressed a little bit but walked down to The Point Café below explained the situation to one of the locals they made a phone call and within 5 minutes a young lad came along the lane in a 4x4 with jump leads. All was okay and we safely set off home.

A big thank you to Gaynor and her family for allowing us to stay in her lovely cottage, everyone whom I have showed our photos too were amazed at the location and stunning scenery, a truly beautiful place of which we plan to come back next year but for a tad longer!
