We love the North Fork and have rented various homes over many, many summers. When the opportunity to purchase this lovely cottage came our way we couldn't resist. We are Long Island natives who love the out of doors. My husband is a competitive kayak racer and avid fisherman. I enjoy a good book, time spent in nature, especially by the water and a delicious meal with family and friends whether prepared at home or at one of our favorite restaurants. While we currently reside in Nassau County our goal is to retire to this cottage in a few years. We're happy we can share its natural peace and beauty with you.

Mary Or Emery Korpi purchased this bungalow in 2013

The perfect combination of waterfront - with no risk of flooding! - surrounded by nature. Close enough to encourage healthy walking and biking to the magnificent Peconic Bay. Kayaking right out of our back yard and bird watching from every window and all 3 decks!

Wonderful outdoor space combined with cozy yet open plan cottage. We really enjoy relaxing on the deck and watching the water birds fishing in the creek. Osprey circling above - great white egrets wading through the creek at low tide - geese, ducks and swans swimming

by while we watch through the large windows with great views.

PERFECT VACATION!

  • 5 out of 5
Literally the PERFECT location with something for EVERYONE. I stayed at this cottage recently for my boyfriend's birthday with family. We were a short walk to the beach or a short drive to other very clean beaches (less than 5 mins) and all of the wineries and restaurants that we wanted to check-out were easily accessible. The food in the area is delicious (Love Lane Kitchen, North Fork Table and Inn + their lunch food truck). The house itself was great and exactly what we wanted. The back deck makes this cottage one of the best places I have ever stayed. It's so relaxing and serene to sit out there and listen to the wildlife and the creek out back. Everything is so clean and beautiful we could not have asked for a better experience.

The cottage is VERY well kept and clean. We had everything we needed at our fingertips and Mary and Emery were excellent hosts.

We definitely fell in love with this place and would recommend it to all! You will not be disappointed. We now plan to make a trip to the North Fork at least once a year!

Oh! Make sure to check-out the outdoor shower as well, it's a bit intimidating, showering outside, but if you feel adventurous I highly recommend it, it was pretty awesome!

We take great pride making our guests feel welcome and comfortable in a clean cottage with all the basics provided.

A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND

  • 5 out of 5
My husband, 2 kids and an out-of-town stayed at the creek-front cottage for a 3 day weekend. The house was perfect and just as described. It was clean and very well kept. There was ample space for everyone. I was able to easily find everything we needed from serving pieces to the BBQ needs. The view of the creek was beautiful and a relaxing way to wake up in the morning. We all did a lot of bird watching! We went to Greenport and stopped at Magic Fountain for ice cream. My friend and I did a wine tour. We also stopped at a local beach so the kids could put their toes in the water. My husband took the kids out on the dock in the back to teach them how to fish. They didn't catch anything, but they still loved the experience! The backyard has a little bit of an incline, so it isn't great for younger kids (toddlers) to run around. My kids are older, so they has a ball running around on the property for some hide and seek. The hosts left a huge guest binder with everything needed from house information to shopping to directions and restaurants. We had a wonderful weekend at the house and my kids are asking when we can visit again. I would certainly stay here again on another visit to the North Fork.

3 GENERATION FAMILY VACATION AT THE NORTH FORK

  • 5 out of 5
My family and I could not have been happier with our choice. The house and amenities met and exceeded the owner's description. The house, besides being immaculate( which was especially important because we had a crawling one year old with us) was very cute and well-stocked with basics, books, toys, games and equipment. We had a family fun night of playing Scrabble and my husband and daughter got to try out a bicycle built for 2. The information binder provided by Mary was outstanding. We went to a number of her picks, all of which were excellent. We tried the Kitchen on Love Lane,The Old Mill Inn, a working marina, the Meeting House Inn on a creek and had excellent lunches and dinners. Our favorite farmstand was Brieremere . The Magic Mountain ice- cream place was outstanding. None of us had ever had lavender ice-cream!
We were looking for a water vacation especially because my older daughter and grandson live in New Mexico. The serenity of watching the creek and its wildlife was just what we needed and the bay was great for the baby. The nearby Veterans Beach worked out best for us because we have swings afficianandos. The area is beautiful. The Nature Conservancy walk at the Husing Bird Preserve was lovely.
Dealing with Mary was great. She promptly and enthusiastically answered all my queries, asked our preferences for room set-ups and provided a play-pac for my grandson. We met her on our way out and she was just as kind and cordial as could be.
We had never used vrbo before so we hoped for the best, which is what we got. The site photos were completely accurate. We didn't need to check the address. We recognized it first. Everything in and out was exactly as the description stated. We headed straight out to the back deck and the creek.
I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative. It was just the right size for parents, 2 grown daughters and and one year old.It was exactly as described and fit our needs to a tee. I hope we find the opportunity when we all can go back.

Owner's Response: We are so very fortunate to find guests who appreciate our lovely
cottage and creek front setting. It's wonderful that you got to
enjoy some of the unique delights of the area (home made ice cream stand) and that our "Guests Binder" served as a helpful guide.
We welcome a return visit whenever you are out on the North Fork.

GREAT VACATION HOUSE!

  • 5 out of 5
My husband and I spent a week here with our dog and the house was the perfect size for us. It was a quiet, peaceful location overlooking a creek which provided a beautiful view from the back deck. There are also two decks off the front of the house as well. Most of the inside is freshly painted and beautifully decorated. The owners Mary and Emery were wonderful! They spent time answering any questions we had and even left us a welcome gift at the house! They also provided plenty of books, games and information regarding things to do and places to eat nearby. Private beach was a short walk away with friendly people that welcomed us and our dog! I highly recommend this house and will definitely stay again next time we make it out to Long Island!!!

JUST RIGHT FOR US!

  • 5 out of 5
Perfect base for exploring both the North and South Forks of L.I., but the quiet, pretty beach on the bay was so close, we didn't do a whole lot of traveling. The house was that great combination of suburban comfort and views yet in a quiet, natural, country setting. So you get lawn and garden on one side, AC, WiFi, and TV inside, but also bunnies, deer, egrets, and swans on the creek-side. (with decks all around) The place was spotless and fully outfitted with everything we needed - from the kitchen to the outdoor stuff (bikes). The owners couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating and left tons of detailed info about what to do in the area, and where to find it, all in a handy notebook. They seem to have thought of everything, but if I had a question, they would find out for me. May not be ideal for the littlest children (toddler age?) as the the lawn goes right down to the creek, and although it's nice to have a second bathroom, we did okay without it. No other drawbacks I can think of. We wanted to get to know the East End better, and this turned out to be a really lovely spot from which to set out and return "home" to.
