This is our second listing and does not have too many reviews yet, but check out our first condo, (Nice apartment in prime location), which is in the same building and you will get a better idea about us and the area.
Nicely furnished and decorated 2 bedroom apartment.
The apartment is located in a great neighborhood and prime location. Just check out the map and you will see that the apartment is in the middle of everything: tower grove park, botanical garden, forest park, downtown, zoo, planetarium, science center, central west end, south grand development with restaurants from all over the world.
The apartment is about 850 Sqf and originally was a 1 bedroom apartment but we set it up as two private bedrooms and no living room. Ideal if you have 2-4 people, 2 couples, 1 couple with 2 kids. One of the beds has a memory foam mattress for a very relaxing sleep.

We are a young, hardworking couple. We are trying to live a healthy life style. We love city living with all the parks, events, walking distance the restaurants, we love gardening, continuously working on our house :). We love St Louis and glad to share it with all the guests who come to stay with us.
Dmitriy Kabargin purchased this apartment in 2010
In the Summer:
- every Wednesday we go to FREE Jazz concerts at the Botanical Garden.
-every Saturday we go to Tower Grove Park for Farmers Market and a Free yoga class, and splash fountains.
-Wednesday mornings there are free musical activities for kids with different instruments at Tower Grove Park,
-Every Monday, Free classical music concerts at Tower Grove Park,
Not to mention all kind of festivals: Botanical Garden Lantern festival, Japanese Festival, Chinese Festival, Festival of Nations, Shaw art Fair. The last one is organized by many Shaw neighborhood volunteers.
We love to be able to walk to all the activities and love to be part of the truly wonderful supportive community.
We’ve lived in this neighborhood since 2007 and we can tell that Shaw is a treasure that has so many jewels awaiting your discovery . Not only it has a very active community, there is no other places in ST Louis that would offer sooo many walkable things to do.
What a wonderful experience staying at Kabargin's place. Dmitriy greeted us when we arrive, with some amazing local donuts, coffee and wine. The apartment itself was son very well kept and inviting. We absolutely loved the Local Harvest Cafe the Dmitriy had recommended to us as well. We had everything we could have possibly have needed when arriving. It's all the little thoughtful touches that are in place at this apartment that truly persuades me to want to come back to St. Louis and to stay here specifically. Cheers To the Kabargins!
Host was solicitous and helpful--leaving tips for those unfamiliar with St Louis and available by text. Accommodations were simple but clean and comfortable, but not fancy. Sitting area and kitchen were all in 1 room with kitchen items dominating the room. Bedrooms were spacious. Generally very adequate for visitor planning to spend time exploring the city. Very good value.
In my earlier review, I forgot to mention that Dimitri does not charge a cleaning fee and my damage deposit was returned to me within 3 hrs. of our checkout. I really appreciated both of these because it's not that way with every property.
We were very happy with our stay in St. Louis. The apartment was clean, orderly, and just as nice as the pictures. We were showing St. Louis to friends from Denmark and decided to go the VRBO route instead of a hotel. We were so glad we did. Dimitri was a wonderful host with many ideas and suggestions on things to see and do. Even though we live 2 hrs. from St. Louis, we'd never seen the Botanical Garden (walking distance), the Basilica, the Budweiser Tour or Zia's with the bakery and salami shop nearby. Dimitri's suggestions made the trip just as interesting for us as our visitors. Plenty of parking in front of the apartment, but if not, there's also space in back. Thanks, Dimitri, for your help and the World's Fair Donuts!
I stayed 2 nights here with my husband and two young children for a weekend getaway. When we arrived, our host (Dmitri) came to introduce himself and bring us recommended sights and family activities in the area (including a free concert in the neighborhood). The following morning, he accommodated our schedule to bring us yummy local donuts. He was also available by text throughout our stay to answer questions about the apartment and the neighborhood. No doubt that Dmitri made this experience truly special!
The apartment itself was as advertised, with 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a door. The bedrooms are also on opposite sides of the kitchen area so everyone has some privacy. The apartment was simply but attractively decorated and very clean, with plenty of blankets, pillows, and towels for our stay. We enjoyed the wifi and access to cable and Netflix.
As far as location, there was plenty of free street parking in a diverse and relatively quiet neighborhood within walking distance of Tower Grove Park and the Missouri Botanical Gardens. We were also within easy driving distance to City Museum, Forest Park (zoo, science center), and "The Hill." There is no public transportation nearby, but it was well-situated for driving in the city.
All in all, we had a great trip and great experience and would stay here again. Much better than any 2-bedroom hotel "suite" at an affordable price. Thank you!
The owner, Dmitriy, was very responsive and helpful even before we arrived, answering questions about parking, amenities, local area, etc. and giving helpful tips about what to see/do. We were in St. Louis on a family trip with our 4-year-old daughter, just seeing local sights, and having an apartment (rather than a hotel room) was such a bonus, because we had separate bedrooms, a refrigerator, coffeemaker, etc. Our trip was very short—only two nights—so we didn't end up spending all that much time in the apartment, but it was clean, well-appointed, and very centrally located. We found we could get to all of the places we wanted to (CityMuseum, zoo, Laumeier, Central West End) within 15 minutes. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, with a mix of older and newer (or renovated) buildings, very close to the botanical gardens. It was extremely hot when we were there (95+ humidity) so we were glad that the air conditioning worked so well! If we come back to St. Louis (and we might -- LOVED the CItyMuseum!!!), I would definitely consider staying here again!
We Highly Recommend The Following Attractions: The Botanical Garden, The Tower Grove Park, The Forest Park, The Zoo, The Science Center, The Basilica Cathedral, The Art Museum, The History Museum, The Arch, The Union Station, The City Garden, The City Museum, Anheuser Busch Brewery Tour, Washington Avenue, South Grand Restaurants.
