Luxury villa at Fira with amazing sea views and beautifull sunsets

We stayed at athina villa first week of September 2010. Athina villa is located on a cliff in the town of Fira in Santorini. The views from the (really large) terrace are just incredible, probably some of the best views in all of santorini. You can view the island of thirasia, the two kameni volcanoes, town of imeroviglio and oia. The villa is large, clean and beautifully done. Both the bedrooms were good size. We were two couples staying and had enough privacy in both bedrooms. The second bedroom is on the 2nd floor and has a small balcony. The bathroom is a bit small with not too much space to keep your stuff. Also part of one of the walls in the 2nd bedroom is opaque glass - looking over the living room downstairs. Villa has marble flooring throughout and it seems the place is recently renovated. We bought few bottles of wine from Santo winery and spent evenings and nights watching beautiful sunsets over thirasia - absolutely gorgeous. The town of fira is nice but very touristy - hordes of tourists are dumped by cruise ships every day. There are a couple of restaurants/bars that play really loud music at night in Fira and ruin the ambience.
Villa itself is 5 star - location, great views and very well done.
We booked the villa with Petros over the phone and he is a pleasure to work with, very accomodating and helpful with local recommendations. He arranged for pickup and drop off as well. The villa, like most places in santorini, is not on a motorable road - you have to walk down from atlantis hotel - good workout!

I have traveled extensively all over the world and can say without a doubt that Villa athena is as good as it gets. The view, location and amenities can only be equaled, not exceeded.
