Our home was built in 1937 & has lots of character. It is a 2 bedroom (queen beds in both), 1 bath, open living room/dining room space (queen hide a bed sleeps 2), large kitchen with breakfast table & coffee bar area. Off kitchen is a nice little laundry room with ironing board, & other cleaning supplies if needed. Downstairs is a large room with a futon for more sleeping, play games, relax or just hang out. Games, books & boom box are provided.
There is a deck off the kitchen & a covered patio near, BBQ also provided for some outside dining.
Large yard out back & small yard off the side of house provides nice green grass to play on for the kids or just to enjoy as you sit outside enjoying the scenery of quiet beauty with the trees, birds, quail & babies scurrying along w/Mom & Dad, squirrels & even an occasional deer comes by to check us out!
Although the house sits in a residential area it seems so peaceful, quaint, & very relaxing.
We have provided HD cable TV, wireless internet & a small stereo, along with a few movies & CD's.
Close by in our neighborhood are many stores for shopping, grocery stores, eating establishments, spas, beauty shops, coffee shops, Mall, theaters, YMCA, 24 hr fitness, Snap Fitness & much more. They are all within 12 blocks to 4 miles.
We are a Mother & Daughter who together bought this home and have enjoyed living here ever since. We moved to Spokane from Eastern Oregon in 98 & decided it was too expensive to live alone so we bought this home together.
Both of us have been involved in our church, family & enjoy playing cards with friends. Between us we like to do crafts, read, music, sewing, quilting, enjoy family & the time outside BBQ ing & working in the yard & flower garden in the summer.
We love animals & only have an older cat currently, but did have many dogs, raised sheep, along with having chicken, ducks, horses, guard donkey, 1 pet calf, Calvin & probably others somewhere along the way, LOL!
Tammy Thompson purchased this house in 2000
We chose this home & Spokane because of aging parents/grandparents & other family in the area. We lived here in the 80's & really liked it at the time.
This home was a HUD home and we have done a lot of work to it over the years & now enjoying more improvements w/more to come.
For some reason this home jumped out at us as we began looking. We felt that it was such a nice quiet neighborhood with a wonderful sense of peace & character that we could not pass it up. Our home is small, but is larger than it looks from the outside. The main part of house is large and open with lots of large windows to enjoy the outside country feel.
We were drawn to this home for many reasons. The openness inside, many large windows, the large lot with so many trees & in such a nice quiet neighborhood.
Inside the doorways are arched, which gives it character along with the little desk in the kitchen with the arched glass doors above with shelves.
Even the outside was very inviting to us. We came from an area with really no trees, so we looked for a place with trees, lots of trees! It is fun to sit outside & watch the quails & their babies going from one place to another & the squirrels all over going from one tree to another. Quite relaxing.
Cozy stay at the cottage - comfortable, clean, well stocked & easy to find!
Tammy's house was full of all of the amenities that make for a comfortable stay. The lights were on the Christmas tree lit, the kitchen stocked, and the beds soft and cozy. We had a great stay with our two grown kids and would come again another time.
We had a wonderful stay at the Cottage in the Trees. It is a lovely and cozy cottage and we felt right at home.it was clean and very well kept. The owners were absolutely the nicest owners we have experienced and our family has stayed in many HomeAway/VRBO homes. Thank you and God Bless.
We totally enjoyed our stay at this home. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The location was perfect as we spent time in Coeur d'alene and Spokane.
Wow, was this a great house. So comfortable and accommodating. Everything we needed and more. Having coffee and creamer available to us was so nice, made me feel like I was at home. We'll be back!
We are located near many yearly activities. In the Summer Spokane is very busy with Hoopfest, Bloomsday, Golfing, Centennial Trail for walkers, biking, water parks, Theater, Riverfront Park where there are always lots of events going on. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Resort is 20 min away with many more events, including the Iron Man event. Silverwood Theme Park is 29 mi. Shopping is never a problem to find either, Target, Walmart, Mall all with 12 blocks to 3 mi away, not counting all the little shops close by.
