|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Accommodations: The TreeHouse is a spacious two bedroom stilt home with a king size bed in the master bedroom with a ½ bath and two additional single beds in the second bedroom. It sleeps 4 to 5 comfortably with a roll away tucked under one of the single beds in case you need it. This property has a nicely done kitchen, a shower for two in the main bath, and is very airy and light. The Kitchen is ready to use with complete sets of dishes, pots and pans, silverware, stove, microwave, coffee pot and utensils and a local grocery store can provide what you need. A washer and dryer combo is in the kitchen. Linens and towels are provided also. Cable is provided as well as Wi-Fi. Two porches look out over the water and the front porch was literally built around two oak trees, hence the name TreeHouse.
Spectacular views of the gulf, especially at sunset are seen from both the dining and living rooms or enjoy it from the front porch while sitting in one of two canvas swing chairs or laying in the relaxing canvas hammock which hangs from the ceiling. A boat dock out back on the canal allows fisherman to keep their boats in the water, but watch the tides to ensure enough water flow to get out to the gulf when ready to fish. This property is located on a commercial fishing/clamming canal in the back as well as the Gulf of Mexico in the front making it a unique property in a one-of-a-kind town. Like to fish but didn’t bring a boat, you can fish and crab right from our dock or join others on the new huge fishing dock downtown. Crab traps are on the dock, just remember to bring them in from the water when you go! We are also pet friendly with a small extra fee to accommodate your best friend. Covered parking is available under the second porch and the property can handle multiple cars.
The walk to town and the city’s beach is a leisurely 20 minutes along picturesque streets. Some guests rent golf carts in town to explore the entire island. The natural beauty of Cedar key and its slow pace allow visitors to feel what old Florida must have been like years ago allowing for very restful vacations. Whether you are here to just relax, sit and read a book, kayak, fish or just to enjoy the diverse wildlife, The TreeHouse can accommodate you comfortably.
Cedar Key hosts several festivals during the year so get your reservations early if you plan to attend one as the town fills up fast on those weekends. Special events include the Seafood Festival in October, the Art Festival in April, the Small Craft Boat Festival, the ClamAmerica celebration on the 4th of July and a kayak festival in September.
I was going to e-mail you and tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. The town was interesting, the seafood was delicious and the neighbors were friendly. And your house was beautifully equipped and was very comfortable.
Thanks for working hard to make our stay wonderful.
We stayed with our 2 kids a few days during spring break, location was perfect! The house was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. We rented a golf cart and explored the area and kids had a blast at the beach and play area in town! Will def come back!
Excellent accomodations, location, view and house supplied with everything we needed!
Everything that it was stated to be. This owner takes great pride in his property. Great views from all directions and located so that its easy to access all of the island's attractions. We plan on returning in the future and taking our dog along...fortunately the neighbors shared their dogs so we did not have withdrawals from ours. Neighbors are very friendly, yet are watching out for the place. We will be back!
Wonderful house in a peaceful setting. The owner thought of every detail of a renters' needs. Friendly neighbors, friendly area, and the view was fantastic.
Second time to the Tree House and many more to come. This house is cozy and very comfortable with all the necessity to have a great time. The neighbors are friendly and fresh clams are steps away from you. This pet friendly place goes great with my dog but we didn't take her this time. The town is quaint and entertaining.
The lighted boat parade happen to be the Saturday we were there. This was my anniversary weekend and I could of not asked for more. Thanks for the memorable weekend. Will be back
My husband and I had such a wonderful trip to the Treehouse earlier this month. The house itself was very warm and inviting, the covered front porch offered gorgeous views, while the screened in side porch had nice views while offering protection from the (nonexistent in Dec) bugs and a nice place to let the dog roam when we weren't watching him closely.
The game cabinet was a great find. The kitchen had all the necessities we could ask for and more. The small grill was perfect for eating in.
We strolled into town which was a nice way to spend a Saturday morning.
If you're going to spend some time in town I suggest grabbing a few groceries beforehand. There's a grocery in town with a good selection, but if you get in later in the evening and plan to decompress rather than exploring having a light dinner is perfection. We watched the sunset, had cheese and crackers and champagne the first night.
Would be great for kids too. We're hoping to bring our 8 year old along next time.
Thank you so much Bill!
