Well maintained and tastefully furnished, 1st floor apartment, in secure building with a lift. Perfect for business travellers, families and for short term relocations. Great living space, that will feel a home away from home.
The apartment is extremely central and located a short walk from Charlotte street which contains a large number of restaurants, traditional english pubs and amenity stores. It is part of London’s “West End” and within walking distance to a number of tourist attractions including, Madam Tussauds, British Museum, British Library, Oxford/Regents/Bond/Carnaby streets, Buckingham Palace, St James/Hyde/Regent’s Parks, SoHo and Covent Garden.The nearest underground stations include,
• Goodge St station (160 metres) 1 minutes walk.
• Tottenham Court road station (550 metres) 6 minutes walk.
• Warren St. station (700 metres) 8 minutes walk.
• Russell Square (1000 metres) 13 minutes walk.
• St Pancras International station (1200 metres) 20 minutes walk
I stayed at a lovely flat, centrally located by tube and bus routes, and plenty of super markets like Tesco and Marks and Spencer 2 minutes on foot close by. Most importantly the owner Roberto is a very friendly, helpful, courteous and professional gentelman. He even provides free wifi internet and TV at the apartment, if there were any help or information needed Roberto was very prompt and helped right away. I would absolutely recommend his apartment to everyone.
El departamento hace honor a lo ofrecido por el propietario. La localización, en Fitzrovia, a mi criterio, es inmejorable. A pasos del Museo Británico y de Oxford, está ubicado en una calle corta que prácticamente no tiene circulación de vehículos lo que la hace muy silenciosa durante todo el día. Gran número de supermercados, restaurantes y pubs a corta distancia. Y al estar a metros de Tottenham Court Rd, medios de transporte de fácil acceso. El equipamiento del departamento es inmejorable, moderno y el funcionamiento, impecable. La propiedad se recibió perfectamente limpia y se encuentra perfectamente mantenida.Tiene todo lo necesario (y mas) para una estancia de vacaciones. La zona es segura y el edificio y departamento también. El único aspecto mejorable (lo he leído en alguna otra reseña) son los colchones, que parecen haber llegado al límite de su vida útil. Mención aparte para el staff de London Life: Klara, nuestro contacto, fue puntual en la recepción, sumamente explícita en las instrucciones, con un trato extremadamente amable; y resolvió inmediatamente dos requerimientos menores nuestros. We were looking for a 2 bed 2 bath apartment close to Soho and Charlotte Street and this suited us perfectly. The apartment is nicely furnished, with everything you might need, on a quiet street. TV, wifi, iPod dock. Check in/out process was simple. Friendly staff.
The only criticisms I can think of are:
1. No toiletries are provided - many places in this price bracket do provide things. Personally, it didn't bother me.
2. The towels were a bit 'crunchy' - like they'd been left out to dry.
3. A spot of decorating here and there wouldn't go amiss.
The apartment is in a fantastic location and has everything you need. The place was very clean and comfortable and Roberto was extremely helpful and flexible. I ran the London marathon while there so it was great to have a lift in the building....! No complaints at all and we'd happily return.
My family and I stayed at Al Place and had a comfortable stay. My sister is in a wheelchair and the flat was a convenient option for her. There were no stairs on the building's exterior and there was an elevator making the flat easily accessible. The doorways and hallways in the flat were wide enough for her to move around. The bathroom doors were narrow but she managed. Roberto Bergantino was very helpful and flexible in adjusting the furniture slightly to ease her access to one of the bathrooms. The open concept living room and dining area is a plus and made it easier for her to navigate. Secured building and great great great location! Roberto did a superb job of welcoming us and acquainting us with the flat and the neighborhood. Thanks Roberto!
The apartment was perfect for us and my parents-in-law and we had a great 4-day week-end !
- The pictures and description are accurate (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, bright living room and modern open kitchen, clean...) and there is an elevator (good for the luggage and my parents-in-law)
- The 4 of us had a good night sleep (quiet place and the beds and mattresses were correct)
- The apartment is very well located (close to subway, bus, supermarket, restaurants, bars in Charlotte's street)
- The price is appropriate
- Roberto was great in welcoming us ! He made things easy and provided useful information !
The few things that could be improved are:
-The top of the flexible (pipe) in the 2nd bathroom is damaged (thorn) at the top and the shower head is calcareous and make the water springs on the sides (rather than straight). Also, a hanger for the towels (2nd bathroom) would be welcome.
The apartment still deserves a 5-star rating given all of the above.

Alfred Place is located four blocks north of Oxford street in a Northly direction. It is at the Tottenham Court Road end of Oxford Street. Additionally, at the junction of Oxford street and Tottenham court road is Charing Cross road (if heading in a southerly direction). Charing Cross road is border between SoHo and further south Leicester Square and China Town on the western side and, Covent Garden on its eastern side.
• Shaftsbury Avenue splits Soho and Leicester Square/China Town and has the highest concentration of Theatres.
• Charing Cross from days gone was the street one used to go to buy a book and still has the famous Foyles bookshop.
• Covent Garden is a key visitor attraction for its quaint shops, touristy restaurants, the two opera houses and of course the old market buildings themselves.
