'Fantastic. We will be back. The best of the houses in PS we have stayed in over the years.' And, how about this review - 'The house was a delight and we're already talking about 'next time.'
These are quotes from recent guests that have stayed in our iconic home where we blended the best of new mid-century modern furnishings, vintage mad-men era dinnerware/glassware/serve ware, luxurious towels and bedding with a large amenity filled backyard.
Our home is set in a very quiet neighborhood thus we are seeking respectful and conscientious guests who are searching for a quiet, relaxing and comfortable vacation. Due to Palm Springs strict noise ordinance (PSMC Ch. 5.25), this is not an ideal rental if your group plans to party hard. In your inquiry, please provide information on who will be staying in our home and reason for your visit. Please note that the maximum overnight guest count can’t exceed six (6).
The great room (living/dining/kitchen) is big and bright and opens to the private backyard oasis. The large yard has multiple areas to relax into – swim laps or float in the very large swimming pool, lounge in the cabana, practice your putts on the grass circles, or relax around the fire pit. A deep covered patio runs the length of the house and provides ample room for outdoor dining and relaxing, and shade from the sun all day. Fruit bearing trees produce abundant oranges, grapefruits and lemons!
Bonus for you – the mature landscaping offers privacy for those interested in skinny-dipping or sunbathing 'au naturale.'
This architecturally significant 1958 Alexander mid-century modern home, designed by famous architects Palmer & Krisel, is located in the wind free heart of central Palm Springs, and is a short walk or a bike ride away from everything quintessentially Palm Springs: the historic downtown walking area, restaurants, shows, casinos, night clubs, movies, Tram, hiking, tennis, golf, spa services, mineral baths, gyms, running, biking, or just walking through the retro mid-century modern streets filled with the residential architecture of the iconic master builders: Alexander, Meiselman, and Wexler.
Your Enchanted Alexander mid-century modern vacation will exceed your expectations and we hope to see you back the following year.
We live in Seattle on a floating home. We've been vacationing in Palm Springs for many years. We love modern architecture and chose to buy a 2nd home in Palm Springs. We wanted to live the classic Palm Springs lifestyle, and this home is everything classic a mid-century modern purist can appreciate.
Jessica Vanderzanden purchased this house in 2012
Alexander Construction built the first tract homes in Palm Springs and this home is everything Palm Springs. As lovers of mid-century modern, Alexander was the only choice for us.
This true classic Palm Springs architecture, was designed by the famous architectural team of Palmer/Krisel. Alexander Construction built tract homes that were designed to bring the outdoors in. The large lot has amazing views of the San Jacinto mountains, has a classic 12' deep swimming pool, cabana and fire pit. It is a playground!
I have rented 2-3 houses a year for the past few years in Palm Springs. We always travel as a group and renting a house is perfect. Once you fall in love with a house -- it seems like everyone else does too and you can never rent it again.
Since there are so many great houses in Palm Springs, this experienced renter finds the real benefits/annoyances in the "little things". This is one of the first times we have rented directly from an owner. That was a plus -- and she was very responsive and personal. Rental agencies have alway been responsive, but they sometimes have a hard time with issues that aren't routine.
And, my biggest pet peeve, believe is or not, is all that dollar store toilet paper, cleaning product crap that the agencies use. The owner of this rental has everything "name brand" (from laundry to dish soap to paper towels). The linens are also high quality. I'm not a towel-stealer, but I wanted these. All of this is a simple reflection that the owners want their guests to enjoy their house with the same quality that they appreciates when they stay there.
The layout of the house is nicely spread out (both inside an out). Our biggest fear was being so close to the airport and hearing jets all the time. It ended up being one of our quietest rentals. We did hear the occasional bi-plane or helicopter, but nothing like we were expecting. The house is centrally located and close to everything.
I shared the house with two other people that had to work the whole week. The back yard had lots of little places to make your own for reading a book or being away from others.
The firepit was great for the cool evenings. We wish there was a spa/hottub, but we really enjoyed the firepit more.
The kitchen area is very social for the cook because he isn't separated from everyone else.
The decor was colorful and very palm springs. Technology was up to date. I would highly recommend this rental. Thanks to the owners for making our stay wonderful!
What a beautiful home....the backyard is so pretty with a lovely pool, loungers, bbq, table, fire pit and full privacy. The hummingbirds visited the backyard regularly. Every day we enjoyed swimming in the pool. The inside of house is also beautiful....and the entire house is well stocked with everything you need and good quality everything! We love mid-century architecture, so this home suited us perfectly....being able to see the backyard from the living room or vice versa was nice. We rented bikes for the entire stay, so we cycled to Uptown and downtown Palm Springs and went for great rides through all the different neighborhoods and on various cycling trails. We also rented a car, so we went to Joshua Tree National Park which was spectacular to say the least. Next time, we will do the Temecula wine country day trip. The Palm Springs Art Museum is a stunning museum full of interesting works of art...Palm Springs itself has great gallerlies and shops. This home will serve you will to enjoy the mid-century architecture, pool, desert landscaping and comfy beds. The owners and pool attendant were very helpful and prompt with the few questions we had. You will love this home!!
Our group of 5 had a great stay at this comfortable and charming house. A lovely pool and a colorful, fun decor set this rental apart from the usual generic vacation rentals. The owners were also very helpful and took care of a water problem immediately. We would all definitely return.
We had such a wonderful time staying in this relaxing piece of Palm Spring heaven. It is the perfect size for a family looking for a getaway. The home is comfortable and the outdoor spaces can't be beat. The owners were warm and responsive - we can't wait to stay here again!
This spotless, quiet, spacious-feeling home has been restored with loving care. We found it the perfect, relaxing get-away with our two kids, lounging by the pool and cooking food in the well-equipped kitchen. There is lots to do in town with its funky vintage shops, bistros, and tiki bars, with unmissable side trips to places like Joshua Tree park, making this retro oasis a wonderful place to return to after a busy day. Great mattresses and complete quiet for fantastic sleeps.
The house is located in the wind free Sunrise Park neighborhood, and is within minutes of everything Palm Springs: the historic downtown walking area, restaurants, shows, casinos, night clubs, movies, Tram, hiking, tennis, golf, spa services, mineral baths, gyms, running, biking, or just walking through the retro mid-century modern streets filled with the residential architecture of the iconic master builders: Alexander, Meiselman, and Wexler.
