Mountains weather - cold summer nights it was 53 degrees last night (August). Spring brings new growth, wild and farm animals and wild flowers. Autumn shows off the wild colorful leaves changing the views in every direction. Winter brings the snow making skiing, tubing, sledding and snowman making possible.
The cabins feature many unique charms such as wormy chestnut logs and wood, arrowheads found on the grounds, nooks for children to explore, private outdoor fire pits and plenty of gathering space indoors and out. A great deal of time has been spent collecting local reclaimed wood to build Memory Mountains' cabins and it shows.
We recently had our wedding at Memory Mountain. It was perfect! Our families came into NC from both Ohio and New York for the occasion. We had 12 adults and 6 children who all stayed at Waterfall Lodge. The Lodge was beautiful and well kept. There is a large fish filled pond that the kids enjoyed fishing in. The firepit is right there too and was so nice for making smores. Steven was very nice and accomodating to our needs. He helped with linens for the reception and bringing us more tables. We had the ceremony in the chapel and the reception on the porch of the cabin. It fit all of our guests perfectly. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to have an intimate wedding or anyone just looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is truly amazing there.
It was an absolute joy working with Steven in booking and planning our pastors training at Memory Mountain. He went above and beyond in making our group feel welcome. This VRBO property deserves 10 stars!
Our two families (14 total) had a wonderful time - from the spacious cabin to the beautiful ponds to Lobo who gave us a very warm welcome
We recently had our wedding at this gorgeous place. It is an amazing location with wonderful owners. The owners are great to work with and make sure you have everything and anything you need for your stay. We had such a diverse range of guests and each and every one had an amazing time. We had 4 out of 5 of the cabins for our wedding rented and still had plenty of room for more.
So far we have stayed in 2 of the cabins ourselves with our young boys and are really looking forward to visiting over and over again. The cabins are huge and you can tell made with hard work and love with the amount of details seen throughout each one.
There is plenty to do no matter what the weather is like. Each cabin has games and all kinds of things tucked away for guests to enjoy. You can fish, hike, have bon
fires, or just relax and observe nature.
Steve and Joy have built a paradise here! The home itself and entire area is gorgeous and very family friendly. Adults and kids of all ages will enjoy the comfortable home, stocked pond(s), mountains and waterfalls. The cabin is very well maintained and decorated nicely. The owners went out of their way to ensure our group of 4 adults and 6 kids were taken care of and could not have been more hospitable. We loved our time on Memory Mountain and hope to return very soon!!
I highly recommend this property. The lodge was big enough for two large families to spend a week in comfortably. The lakes were stocked with fish and we had a great time building fires by the pond. Tons of trails to hike and explore. The owners Steve and Joy were very accommodating and really went out of there way to make sure we had a wonderful experience on Memory Mountain. Also their Artic wolf named Lobo was a huge hit with the kids!!
