Adjacent to the kitchen area is a spacious 26 ft. x 22 ft. conference/meeting room that also can serve as a family/rec room with its own full bathroom and large storage closet. My sisters and I previously stayed at this home and decided that we needed to try to get the whole family together for Christmas. This past weekend the entire family came together. We cooked together, visited the cider mill, hiked, sat by an outdoor fire and just talked. The space was perfect with lots of room to spread out. We were able to all sit down together for dinner but we are also able to spread out while some watched football and others just wanted to watch the little ones play.
The house is well maintained and very clean. The beds are comfortable and the bedrooms are homey. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to get away for a while and just enjoy life.
We rented the home for a gathering place for our family for a Thanksgiving Reunion. It couldn't have been more perfect. The owner met with my parents (who were the first to arrive), and in their words "she is so sweet and wonderful". There is so much room for overnighters, many bathrooms, even a laundry area. The two large rooms were perfect for our big Thanksgiving dinner, our Murder Mystery and games and football viewing. The living room even works perfect for the late night card games (perfect proximity from the bedrooms for those of us whom would rather sleep!). The bonus of having fantastic weather to walk down to the lake, and enjoying the large yard area was appreciated. Also enjoyed multiple trips to the local cider mill. The home was extremely clean, warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend it to anyone needing a lot of space in a nice quiet setting. Our ONLY "complaints"-hesitate to even call them that, there is a piano there that was out of tune, not a big deal but our family usually does some singing when we're together, and we kept throwing the breaker with both ovens and all 4 range burners on. We just did some recoordinating of cooking our Thanksgiving dinner and got by.
I was a bit apprehensive about this rental home at first because Ms. Berg required a check as a deposit and my previous VRBO have been paid through the site. Needless to say that the transaction and return of deposit was quick painless and re assuring. The home itself is so so so spacious that the amount of bathrooms ensures that everyone always has a place to go and privacy. We stayed as a speech and debate team competing in Overland Park and the home was a quick 20 minutes on the interstate. Very nice, very clean and highly recommended.
While i currently live in the area, I am not from here originally. When my youngest child was graduating from high school, i wanted a place where the siblings could stay - and each of the siblings have their own families. This place was perfect - it was secluded yet near attractions. The older kids could play outside, the younger kids had plenty of room inside. There were plenty of living quarters to accommodate everyone. This place allowed the family to gather with the feeling of being at home - much better than trying to stay in a hotel. Having this place made the event much more enjoyable - It is a great place for any family (and/or freinds) gathering.
My three sisters and I gathered together for a week long scrapbook retreat. The house was fantastic and met all our needs. We had lots of space for all of our scrapbooking needs as well as space for relaxing, cooking, eating, and sleeping. We also enjoyed spending time outside: walking around the property and sitting on each of the porches enjoying the sunrise and sunset.
Shopping for forgotten items was not a problem as we were only ten minutes from several stores however when you returned to the ranch you had the feeling that you were 'away from it all'.
The house was everything that we needed. The space was wonderful. And we have already planned a week to have our families together for the holidays and we are planning on returning for our scrapbook retreat next year! I will definitely recommend this property to my friends and family.
My family and I rented this home so we could all be together for Christmas. We are a large family and this house was perfect for us. To say we loved the house is not an over-statement. It provided a great setting for our "country" Christmas. We stayed 9 days and enjoyed a wonderful time together. There are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen area is large, fairly well equipped, and accommodated all of us for sit-down meals. There are enough dishes for a very large gathering, although more pots and pans, larger sizes, would be great. Knowing this, I brought some items with me. The only negative was that the ovens are old and probably should be replaced. It made baking a little more challenging. The children enjoyed playing outside when the weather permitted and were particularly interested in the big red bull they named Albert. The house in convenient to Kansas City and we were able to enjoy several activities in KC. The owners are gracious and very accommodating. If we have the opportunity, we will stay here again.
Within 10 minutes of the property are many local attractions such as Louisburg Cider Mill, Somerset Winery, Powell Observatory, Once Upon A Time Antique shop, Middlecreek Opry and Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. A 30 minute drive provides all of the amenities of the Kansas City area such as sports, theater, shopping, restaurants, golfing, museums, etc. This property is located on an operating ranch populated with woods, paths and trails providing a beautiful, peaceful and quiet environment.
