The house is situated on the main place of the village, with roof terrace

The house has got 3 levels with the terrace on the top and offers a beautiful view of the Mont Canigou. House is very well renovated. Kitchen and dining room on first floor, bedrooms on second and third floor. 1bathroom with toilets on the second floor and 1 toilets and washbasin on the basement. Down the street 4 different footpath itineraries and many other possibilities for beautiful walk. Down the street, a big playground for football, basket petanque and so on. All convenient shops close to the house (100 meters) with bakers, butcher, greengrocer, restaurants and bars, tobacconist, tourist office, museum, post office, chemistry, medical centre. Wifi at the bar and restaurant 'El tap' 20 metres from the house. At 3km swimming, fishing and walk at St Jean Pla de Cors, and at 4 km Ceret with its famous Art Modern Museum and le Boulou with its medical spa.

House is situated in a no car section so the place is very quiet. Nature is closed, sea at 20 km, forest at 10mn walk. It's really a great place for holidays.

Spa of Le boulou at 4 km is open to everybody who need so relaxing massages and the very famous one of Amelie-les-Bains at 15 km.

At 3km there is the nice lake of St Jean Pla de Cors where you can go swimming, fishing or walking in a really beautiful scenery. Bars and restaurants and Adventure park take place there too.

Many centers of horse riding in the surrounding. Poney center for children too.

We are a couple with one daughter. We are in our fifties and are living at Tours, in the Loire Valley (Center of France). We love nature, sea and mountains, wines and gastronomy.

Why Danièle MIQUELESTORENA chose Maureillas-las-Illas

We chose to buy this house because it is situated in Catalogne a part of France and Spain we know for a long time and we particularly appreciate. We enjoy long walks in countryside far from the rush of tourists in summer but not far from places to swim. It's a sunny area, a mixture of cultural sites and nature in the heart of a typical village. The atmosphere is international as a part of people are from Catalogne (French and Spain) and other small part from England, Norway, Suede etc... This mixture again, give a very lively village.

What makes this house unique

The house has been very well renovated in a spirit of 'home for holidays'. The view from the terrace upstairs is fantastic and you can have sunbaths there very quietly. From the house directly you can have very long walks in a very beautiful scenery. A very good holiday time

Schönes offenes stilvolles Steinhaus

Schon im Vorfeld sehr angenehmer, sympathischer Kontakt mit den sehr freundlichen und aufmerksamen Vermietern (Noch einmal Vielen Dank!). Wir erhielten schon früh viele Informationen über das schöne Haus, das kleine Dorf und die wunderschöne Umgebung. Das Haus ist eine Wucht, die Bilder geben schon einen guten Eindruck. Am schönsten waren die Abende auf dem Dach. Es kann sehr heiß werden, das war es in unserem Urlaub auch, aber man befindet sich ja auch am südlichsten Zipfel Frankreichs (Korsika ausgenommen). Das Haus ist alt, urig, offen und einfach schön und mit Liebe für das Detail geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Dorf ist klein, man findet hier aber das nötigste, kleine Kneipe, gutes kleines Restaurant am Platz, zwei Bäcker, ein kleiner Miniladen für das wofür man nicht mehr losfahren mag. Die Nachbargemeinde Ceret mit buntem Leben und Künstlerflair nicht weit. Baden geht hervorragend im Mittelmeer, ca. 20 min. per Auto oder im See in St. Jean Pla-de-Corts, gute 5 Minuten entfernt. Ins Landesinnere sind die Wege länger als man glaubt, da die Strassen klein sind. Unbedingt nach Barcelona, auch diese schöne Stadt ist für einen Tagesausflug gut erreichbar.

Un très agréable séjour entre mer et montagne!

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette jolie maison à la fois typique et moderne. La maison est au coeur du tranquille petit village de Maureillas, qui offre toutes les commodités : commerces(boulangerie, épicerie, et boucherie-charcuterie avec spécialités catalanes, cafés-restaurants,...) et proximité des départs de randonnées pédestres et de visites en voiture vers la côte méditerranéenne ou les sites pyrénéens catalans. Au retour de ces balades, il est bien plaisant de profiter au soleil sur la terrasse de la vue sur les cimes enneigées du Mont Canigou.
Nous conseillons donc vivement cette location, où nous espérons revenir avec plaisir!

Une jolie maison dans un joli village

Merci à Danièle et Benoit pour nous avoir permis de passer de très bonnes vacances en Catalogne, à Maureillas. La maison est très propre et très jolie et on s'y sent comme chez nous. Elle est très bien située au coeur du village et la vue de la terrasse, sur le Mont Canigou est époustouflante. La région est pleine de sites à visiter (églises, prieurés, château Cathares, musées) et les plages sont à proximité (20 mn en voiture). On peut aussi se baigner dans le très joli lac de st Jean, à 3km, entouré de montagnes et au milieu de la nature. Le village offre des commerces de proximité, des chemins de randonnées directement au départ de la maison. Tout plein de choses à faire. On reviendra

Des espaces joliment restaurés et optimisés rendent cette maison aussi lumineuse que pratique.Nous apprécions sa situation au coeur d'un village tranquille.
Toutes les invitations aux découvertes et loisirs dont l'environnement proche est riche , sont autant de motifs a retrouver le confort simple et chaleureux de la maison.
Nous découvrons de belles ballades littorales,et profitons de courtes ou moyennes randonnées dans les massifs des Abbères sans devoir meme prendre notre voiture...En quelques instants ,ces points de vues aux altitudes raisonnables comme l'environnement méditerranéen précisent caractères et originalités d'un pays catalan dont les villages sont aussi authentiques.
La situation géographique de cette location a comblé notre plaisir a en découvrir de nombreux attouts.Fiez vous aux recommandations des propriétaires ,disponibles sur places, et a celles des locaux, comme toujours!

we had a great stay in this beautiful catalan house !
It had all that we wished for. Its location allowed us to have several interesting and fun day-trips. The kitchen is well equipped and it was lovely to sit on the rooftop terrace with a stunning view over the Canigou mountain... and sipping Banyuls and Maury sweet wines !
We can strongly recommend this lovely house!
