The Rocking K Ranch a dream come true. After years of longing to live in the Fall River Valley, we were lucky to be able to make it happen a few years ago. We enjoy our home and hope that you will enjoy your visit to our ranch. Be sure to say hi to Bandit - my big horse and to our ranch mascots, Brawny, Bailey and Brandy - my three labradors!
Sandra Kaul purchased this cabin in 2008
After searching for several years, we were thrilled to find our property in Pittville. We enjoy amazing neighbors, spectactular views and the peace and serenity of life in the country. We have planted a large apple orchard that we hope will produce a nice crop of apples in the coming years.
We came for opening duck season in the Fall River Valley. In the combined 35 years we have been making this trip, "The Rocking K" guest house was by far the best place we have ever stayed. The location is perfect. The house was equipped with everything we needed to cook a quick hot meal after a long day of hunting. There were even dog cookies for our hard working Labrador Retriever.
The property is beautiful at the Rocking K Ranch. We appreciated the sense of privacy around the guest house. The orchards, gardens, and barns gave us inspiration for our own homes. The adorable produce stand at the beginning of the driveway is proof of the love and care that has been put into this place. We will definitely be returning next year.
My husband and I are kayakers and were looking for a place near home to kayak for a few days. I discovered Ahjjumawi Lava Springs State Park and knew immediately this was the place to go. Then I googled "lodging in MacArthur" and up popped the Rocking K Ranch Guest Cabin. What a wonderful find! Not only is it affordable, but totally equipped with everything we needed, even food in the kitchen which we didn't discover until the last day, and the best thing is it's pet friendly! We wanted to bring our dog and she was welcomed like a guest with special dog biscuits waiting for her. Sandy, the owner, is a gracious, kind person who made us feel completely at home. She even sent us home with a bag full of just picked apples from her orchard. We loved the pond, the horses, the quail, and especially the quiet evenings and star studded skies. The kayaking was great too but honestly, the best part about the vacation was the place we stayed!
My Dad and I were in the Fall River Valley to attend the Fall River Century Bike ride. The Rocking K Guest Cabin was perfect...clean very comfortable well equipped kitchen. Amazingly comfortable beds with quality linens and towels in the bathrooms. It was hot during our stay, the ceiling fans and window a/c kept the cabin very cool. The Rocking K Ranch is an amazing place and Sandi the host is warm friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I hope to return.
Very neat, nicely decorated, quiet, fully stocked with staples and more, complimentary bottle of wine, great location for outdoor adventures, welcoming and friendly owners, privacy. All this and more. I can't see how anyone wouldn't be pleased with this property.
This Vacation Stay....this beautiful setting, represents the heart and soul of two people who know what true comfort and hospitality are all about.
Sandi and husband Doug have truly given new meaning to the phrase of ‘If we don’t have it, you don’t need it!’. Everything, and I truly mean everything, conceivable to human pleasure and comfort is there for the weary traveler(s) who needs to escape from the stressful world we all live in.
Before posting this review, I read nearly all the reviews presented here by the lucky others who had visited prior to our recent stay, and it is difficult to conjure up words that can embellish upon those reviews.
Personally, I can see things out of order from across the street (yes, I am that neat and particular… my bad?) and there was nothing- nothing overlooked in neatness and cleanliness- not a spot or stain to be seen. The furnishings and décor testified to the owner’s keen knowledge of quality and comfort.
All the amenities are provided- I especially liked Sandi’s thoughtfulness of providing a dozen farm fresh eggs in the immaculately clean fridge. A clear glass jar filled the rim of Hershey’s mini chocolates made Glenn’s stay. A ‘cookie’ jar filled with doggie biscuits on the kitchen counter were thoroughly enjoyed by my dog Necco.
If you love dark, night skies, do come at the cycle of ‘new moon’- you will experience the deepest, darkest night sky full of planets, stars, and constellations. With a bit of timing, you can catch the fleeting beauty of shooting stars- it is all too breathtaking!
My amateur Astronomy hobby experienced new heights of awe and wonder with my 4” Meade telescope, conveniently set up right on the cabin’s deck.
My buddy and I put on over 400 miles traversing all about Shasta/Cascade- it is something you can never tire of. Lassen Volcanic National Park, Mt Shasta, Burney Falls, Dunsmuir--- so many, many beautiful sights.
This area is where you experience a different pace of daily life for the folks who reside there- they work hard, but they live amongst all of the best that God’s good grace has provided them.
If you get there, do visit the Glenburn Church on McArthur Road in Fall River Mills, built in 1885. Only six small pews on either side, with soulful, hand-crocheted psalms gracing the walls along with stunning stained-glass windows, all impeccably maintained.
Finally, a heartfelt thankthanks to Tyler, who was there when needed.
I certainly plan to return
We really enjoyed our time here. The property is gorgeous and private. Sandi was so hospitable and made us feel right at home. This home is so clean and was stocked with everything we could possibly need. The beds were very comfortable and we would love to stay here again in the future. Thank you for the warm hospitality!
