Lovely apartment with a fantastic view.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Heritage Oaks in January, a welcome break from the dreadful English winter helped by the gorgeous weather we had there.
We actually stayed at a second apartment owned by the renter just around the corner but saw both whilst we were there. Both were well decorated and furnished beautifully. Roomy, comfortable, equipped with everything you're likely to need and both with fantastic views out over the lake and beyond to the golf course fairway.
Sitting on the lanai, or screened balcony, and looking out, the views and the wildlife are simply amazing: Sandhill Cranes, Osprey, Herons, Bald Eagles and even (at a safe distance across the lake!) the occasional alligator.
Being a keen golfer, and my wife and I both keen tennis players, we took full advantage of the facilities around Heritage Oaks. It's also a very short walk to the nearest swimming pool and a quick cycle ride to the nature preserve at the heart of the site. The people at HO are very friendly and if you want to socialise you'll find plenty of opportunity to do so. If you just want to 'chill' you'll find that very easy too.
Myakka River Park nearby is well worth a visit and a trip on the Airboat there a must, the beaches at Venice and Siesta Key are lovely. You'll need a car whilst there to really enjoy the various attractions around Sarasota but most are only a short drive away. Numerous excellent restaurants within a few miles (Madfish Grill on Cattlemen Road gets a special mention) and a very handy supermarket just down the road if you want to shop to dine in. The HO clubhouse also have very good dining facilities and a take-out service.
The owner was very helpful whilst we were there and also has a local agent in the area. Highly recommended..we'll be back!
Owner's Response: N.B.The comment at the end of the review about having an ´Agent` on the spot needs clarifying. She is not an `agent` but `looks after` the property while I am not there; sees to the cleaning and checks that everything is in order.
The second property is normally just for our and our family´s use, hence not advertised, but can be used by tenants if not occupied. Just to clarify.
The tenants were lovely people and most helpful. I am so glad they enjoyed their stay at our condo so much, as has everyone else who has stayed there. We are very happy to have such a lovely place.
