GORGEOUS HOME AT LAKE ROOSEVELT

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Hunters - Beautiful Columbia Ranch

1,800 sf - 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, additional large loft with bunk beds.

Columbia Ranch is 40 acre playground including a fully furnished vacation home built in 2006. It's location enjoys great access to Lake Roosevelt, Two Rivers, Banks Lake, Grand Coulee Dam, and the Fruitland Valley. It's also a reasonable commute to Spokane, Gonzaga, EWU, and Whitworth. There is something for everybody anytime of the year. With a family oriented feel, we offer all the ammennities you'd expect and more. The home will comfortably sleep up to 9 guests, but can easily accommodate up to 12 (if the pull-out twin bed combo sofa and blow-ups are acceptable). Open concept on the main floor includes a full kitchen, family room, dining area, and large island bar for those that love to cook. Also, a huge stone woodburning fireplace and big flat screen tv can be enjoyed from anywhere on the main floor. Main flow locates two private bedrooms and the laundry room. Upstairs has a large loft, which can be closed off for privacy, and includes 4 bunk beds and one single bed, along with the upstairs 1/2 bath. Use the dimmers on every light switch to set the mood. You will appreciate hand-scraped hardwoods throughout and the solid hardwood cabinets, doors, and countertops which give this 'cabin' a cozy but lvery uxurious feel. An outdoorsman's dream... with mostly local species tastefully displayed thanks to the award winning taxidermist, Peter's Taxidermy.

About Tyler Gillis

Our Family resides in Tacoma, WA but frequent Eastern Washington. We love boating on the lake in the summer and chasing around the animals in the fall and winter.

Tyler Gillis purchased this house in 2006

Why Tyler Gillis chose Hunters

Our family really digs the outdoors and we wanted to be on Lk Roosevelt ever since we saw it for the first time in 2002; it IS the hidden jewel of Eastern Washington. We chose this 40 acre property to build, because it is close to town, 1,000 of miles of state land, and Two Rivers. It has unbelievable views of Lake Roosevelt to the West, Sherman Pass to the North, the Huckleberry Mountains to the East, and the Hunters countryside to the South. The deck off the main floor has 180 degrees views that will blow you away. You will find something new to be amazed with every time you look. At night you will see stars and more stars.... It's gotta be seen to believe.

What makes this house unique

IN THE SPRING AND SUMMER: Bring your ATV's, your boat, and some seadoos. If you like to watch or photograph wildlife, maybe go for a hike; after that you may not want to leave the property at all. But if you do want to hit the water - The Hunters, Wa boat launch is 5 minutes down the road. You can chose any number of sandy beaches to call your own for the day. Attention Golfers! Pack your clubs because Chewelah CC is really good and really tough. It is 45 min away from the cabin, but only minutes away from Colville (the 'big city'). IN THE FALL AND WINTER: Bring your ATV's, cross-country skis, and snowmobiles. You will enjoy the property and 'cabin' in a different way. This is our favorite time to be there. The animals are active so go for a walk and try cover all 40 acres plus the adjacent 250 acres. Typically the weather is great; cool and clear most of the time. Get the indoor, and outdoor, fire roaring as you watch the sun set before taking in your favorite movie. Prepare a feast to eat for dinner, you'll be hungry after all the fresh air. Repeat!

Great family vacation!

  • 5 out of 5
My family of 12 (ages 9 months to 63) had a wonderful time in your home! It was clean, well stocked and very spacious. The kids had their own space upstairs and the adults on the main floor. The air conditioning units were very appreciated when we would return from the lake and the 90 degree days. We are hoping to make your home an annual vacation. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home! We made wonderful memories!

Thanksgiving Getaway

  • 5 out of 5
What a wonderful experience our family had at this property. The location provided for incredible scenery. We were more than comfortable in the spacious home, our 2 boys loved the upstairs loft area. The weather was beautiful and it even snowed the last day we were there. We will definitely return and recommend this property to others.

Awesome place minus the bugs!

  • 4 out of 5
This home was perfect for our vacation getaway. The kitchen is the best stocked VRBO kitchen I've experienced and the beds were quite comfortable. The view from the house is AMAZING and you can see EVERYTHING. Binocular -IS A MUST-.

The only part that frustrated us the entire time was the bugs. There were bees surrounding the house and made it extremely stressful to hang out outside. Frankly, you couldn't spend time outside without one landing on you. If you're allergic to them I recommend keeping your epi close by!

Other than the insects the place is amazing and I highly recommend it.

Owner's Response: Thank you. We love it too. Yes, about bees. It has been a great summer- if you're a bee. We, along with the rest of the Fruitland Valley have been working to keep up with them this year. It has been an unusually bee-busy fall. Hopefully you found a great spot in the yard to enjoy the views and the property.

Amazing home!

  • 5 out of 5
This home is absolutely amazing. The view is incredible and the sunsets...wow! They have everything you need to have a fun time and relax. We woke up every morning and made pancakes on the griddle and ate at the breakfast bar while discussing what we would do that day. After swimming all day at all of the neat, little lagoons and beaches, we would return to the house and play Uno on the front, covered porch enjoying the beautiful view and sunset. The hikes are fun and driving around seeing the wildlife is a treat for the kids. Definitely visit the little espresso/lunch place that is part of the hardware store. She makes a mean espresso drink and good burgers! Note that the grocery does not offer that much, so it would be wise to bring in at least your meats, fruits/veggies and bread. Last note about the house - it was so much fun to look around and see all of the thought that went into decorating. It is really nice to go on vacation and feel at home!

Good Times

  • 5 out of 5
We have visited Roosevelt every summer for the past 20 years. We had planned on camping but because of the Lake level we were not able to. How lucky were we that this beautiful home was available. Very comfortable and spacious for our group of 11. Extremely private and the view and star gazing was amazing. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the kids enjoyed playing in the yard. Thank you hope to visit again next year.

Notes:
AT THE CABIN: The 600 sf covered deck is suited for large groups and big fun bar-b-que's while you watch the horseshoe pits, the deer, and the sun set. There is a swing set for any little ones and a large climbing rock to conquer... all in the yard. Make sure to pack binoculars! OFF-CAMPUS: World-class fishing awaits you on the Lake for Walleye or further north at the Upper Columbia nicknamed the 'Jurassic' for its legendary trout. Summer guests will love a 'real' 4th of July celebration. The little town of Hunters does a great show and it feels very American. Family Fun! For the younger crowd, you need to experience the Poker Run (August) down at Two Rivers and up the Spokane River. It's been called Lk Roosevelt's version of Seafair. 90 degree weather, gambling from your boat, people watching, it's crazy! Finally, you can pick (or buy) fresh Huckleberries- they are the best, and only in season for a couple months. Make some jam for back to school lunches.
