Kieran and Patricia McBrien live in Australia and have rented properties on Home Away formerly Holiday Rentals since 2000, where we started with our first property in Tenerife, Canary Islands. We currently have two other properties for rent, one in Australia prop no: 64997 and the other, a magnificent Lodge on a Golf and Nature Reserve Lodge also in S.Africa prop no: 1068133 only 5 hours drive from Mjejane, which we have just bought in April 2013. We have used our years of experience to invest in only the most pristine properties in the most accessible and desired areas for holidaymakers worldwide.
We therefore assure you that your holiday experience with us will give you the opportunity of enjoying yourselves to the max, whilst our home on its own is a wonderfully relaxing place just to get away from it all. We will provide you with whatever information required, to insure that nothing is left to chance and you have one of the greatest holidays ever..
Kieran Mc Brien purchased this house in 2009
We fell in love with this property during our first trip to S.Africa, by seeing an advertisement for it in a brochure on our Singapore Airlines flight. We loved our first ever game drive so much that we wanted to invest in this beautiful country and on first visiting Mjejane, with its magnificent beauty and isolation, we immediately completed the purchase and knew that we could look forward to travelling there several times a year from our home in Oz. Here you can close yourself away from the outside business world, relax and enjoy each day at YOUR own pace. No matter how many game drives you do, you will always look forward to the next one as each one is completely different, you never know what you will come across as you turn each corner.
With such a huge living area, you can bring your friends and family to share this wonderful experience with you,but there is also plenty of space for them to relax on their own if required.
Inyatsi lodge has got the most superb architecture and quality finishing, with nothing left to chance. The beautiful thatch roof and unbelievable location on the bank of the crocodile river looking into the rest of Kruger National Park, makes it one of the most fantastic places in the world to spend even a little rest and relaxation time. It is also within short driving distance from the magnificent Highweld mountain range, with the third biggest canyon in the world, Bourkes potholes, sensational waterfalls and Gods Window - a days viewing never to be forgotten.
What a truly amazing one week stay we had at this wonderful lodge. We were seriously spoiled from the moment we arrived not only by the magnificent views from the balcony where we observed many wildlife including hippos, a pride of lions & my husbands favourite surprise on his 60th birthday was witnessing a lone rhino calmly walking alongside Crocodile river. Forever memorable....
We also enjoyed the daily maid service as well as 4x4 drives into the private game reserve & Kruger National Park & not forgetting our evening game drives where we'd enjoy sundowners whilst watching herds of elephants drinking at the river.
On site there's a restaurant but as the food's very limited & the supermarket isn't easily accessible, we would definitely recommend you to shop for the duration of your stay.
Before booking, I liaised regularly with the owners Kieran & Patricia McBrien who were absolutely charming & most helpful A MASSIVE thank you to you both for making our stay way above our expectations, so much so, next year we plan returning to this little hidden gem known as "Inyatsi Lodge"........

We stayed at Mjejane in February, with my parents, and my brother's family. The house is spectacular and fully equipped. Not only do you have all the comforts of home, but you are located on the banks of the Crocodile River, and can watch the animals from your balcony. Every day we saw countless hippos, crocodiles and other animals while refreshing in the deck pool.
The conservation officer assigned to our lodge was very experienced, and we maximized each of our safari trips seeing lion, white and black rhino, zebra, giraffes, elephants, etc.
We ate at the the lodge restaurants 2 nights and the food was very good. We preferred to cook ourselves, so we drove to a nearby city and bought groceries to last the week. I would strongly recommend that you rent a car from Nelspruit, so you have the flexibility to drive to town to buy groceries, see other sites, as well as for airport transfers.
One thing to bear in mind is that at the end of your stay you will need to pay a bill for electricity and fuel costs; the price chart is available upon arrival. Also a good idea to tip house cleaner and ranger at the end of your stay.
