Located in Fairview, only 11 miles southeast of downtown Asheville (6 miles from city limits) and 6 miles from I-40 and the Blue Ridge Parkway, this private residence is in the country, yet very convenient to the many attractions of the area, including the Biltmore Estate, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock State Park, and (of course) the mountains with their spectacular views, waterfalls, and tourist attractions. Every season has its gifts, from summer festivals and craft fairs to fall color, winter holidays at the Biltmore House, and spring blossoms. There is an Amish market (bakery, fresh eggs, and other goodies) next door...Across the pasture.

The mountains of Western North Carolina, near Asheville, are one of most beautiful and relaxing places in the world, if you exclude pulling weeds.
The views from the 50+ acre property and lake are wonderful. The birds, horses, goats and other animals are a joy to behold.
I could not have been happier with the Gate House! Comfy, cozy, private.......absolutely wonderful. We cooked for a small crowd and had everything we needed for a great family gathering. I will definately be back in the spring to see the new babies! Guard Llama Velvet is so striking standing in the field that you can see from the house. And all the goats are so adorable. The fresh eggs for breakfast were a hit! Can't say enough about this jewel. The only thing I would mention is if you have elderly people visiting the front stairs can be a little challenging. Other than that.......perfect!
Nice, quiet location in the woods. Just what I needed. Close to Blue Ridge Parkway & Asheville. Nicely stocked kitchen. Enjoyed trail on the property. Appreciated the toiletries, etc. Most places do not provide those kinds of things. Hope to return sometime in the future.
We stayed here for seven weeks while transitioning to the area and this was a wonderful place to be. The owners are fantastic and committed to your experience. The home was comfortable and inviting for our family of three. We loved sitting out at the firepit gazing at the mountain view and taking our evening stroll through the goat pasture. Our son was even able to "help" milk the goats a few times! The amish farm within walking distance was a fun treat on Saturday mornings - coffee and sticky buns - yum! We loved the entire experience and would highly recommend this vacation to anyone!
Just a short drive from Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, yet quiet and peaceful. The house is clean, well furnished and stocked, and totally comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and the goats are so much fun to interact with. We want to go back!
Just visited with my husband, our teenager, my mom and our dog. Nice quiet spot off the beaten path. A view of the goat pasture from the front porch! We walked through and took some close-ups with the goats... Very cute. Porch is great for morning coffee surrounded by pines. Very convenient to Asheville (about 10 minutes) and to Chimney Rock park (maybe 20 minutes due to curvy mountain roads). The Gate House is immaculately clean and has everything we needed. Owners Chuck and Sarah are friendly and helpful. This was a great trip for all three generations of our family and our pup. Thanks!
This was our second stay at this cabin. This is a great place for young families to stay. One bedroom has a queen bed, and another has twin beds. There is a small third office room, which is perfect to set up a pack and play for a baby. The kitchen is very well equipped. The kids loved the goats, llama and pond. It is very convenient to downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is where we will stay again in the future when we visit Asheville.
