WONDERFUL VACATION!

  • 5 out of 5
Just visited with my husband, our teenager, my mom and our dog. Nice quiet spot off the beaten path. A view of the goat pasture from the front porch! We walked through and took some close-ups with the goats... Very cute. Porch is great for morning coffee surrounded by pines. Very convenient to Asheville (about 10 minutes) and to Chimney Rock park (maybe 20 minutes due to curvy mountain roads). The Gate House is immaculately clean and has everything we needed. Owners Chuck and Sarah are friendly and helpful. This was a great trip for all three generations of our family and our pup. Thanks!

GREAT STAY

  • 5 out of 5
This was our second stay at this cabin. This is a great place for young families to stay. One bedroom has a queen bed, and another has twin beds. There is a small third office room, which is perfect to set up a pack and play for a baby. The kitchen is very well equipped. The kids loved the goats, llama and pond. It is very convenient to downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is where we will stay again in the future when we visit Asheville.

FANTASTIC ANIMAL-CENTRIC RETREAT FOR ANIMAL CENTRIC FAMILY

  • 5 out of 5
First vacation in ten years, so lots to live up to, but our stay at Moores Pond Farm lived up to expectations for fun and relaxation. Our 9 year old Cocker Spaniel just had surgery for a cancerous tumor, so we designed our holiday with her in mind. She led us, like a sled dog, up and down Mt. Mitchell, to the Amish store, the Troyer's place nearby with donkeys, pigs, chickens, and through Gorges State Park. We wanted for nothing in our Gate House cottage, save more time to spend in Asheville itself; we lived in AVL about 8 years ago...though much has changed, most established businesses are thriving as are the arts, crafts, locavore and agri-tourism life-styles. If you love the outdoors, and all things natural or hand-crafted, visit AVL and Moores Pond Farm!

GREAT SPOT!

  • 5 out of 5
This place is great, close enough to plenty of hiking, a couple winerys, apple picking, and downtown Asheville. We enjoyed meeting the horses and goats, and the pigs and donkeys next door, too! Clean and comfortable cottage, really felt like we were away from it all! Hope to return soon!

7 MOORES POND ROAD

  • 5 out of 5
This was a beautiful property with very friendly and accommodating owners. They have goats that they allow you to visit. We brought our dogs (leashed of course) into the enclosure with the goats and two horses. It was amazing to watch the animals interact. The goats and horses are so friendly. Great experience.

WONDERFUL. MORE THAN WE HAD HOPED. WILL RETURN.

Came from Ventura, Ca. to visit our son's family and be with grandkids. Gate house soon becomes your home away from home. Very clean, well furnished with a well stocked kitchen. Unique experience of farm life with goats and horses with pasture views. Grandkids loved to visit. Chuck and Sarah are so helpful and caring. Enjoy the animals, the views, the butterflies, flowers and if so incline watch TV in both bedrooms and the family room. Did not have to travel because it was all here.
