Spacious 2 bedroom apartment to sleep 6 in the centre of Carcassonne

Comprising of two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and living area, Chez George provides a spacious, comfortable place from which to enjoy your holiday in Carcassonne. You can enjoy a good night's sleep in our super king size bed, lounge around on our large sofas or chill out with a relaxing bath. We have a fully equipped kitchen, so make yourself at home! The apartment is located in the centre of the Bastide St Louis, so you will be within walking distance of all the sights of Carcassonne. La Cite is only a 15 minute walk from us and the Canal du Midi is only 2 minutes away! Surrounded by restaurants and cafes, you won't be short of places to enjoy a coffee or a glass of red wine with the local speciality of cassoulet.

Parking: The apartment is located at the centre of the part of town of Carcassonne known as the Bastide. Within the Bastide you have to pay for parking between 9:30 and 12:00 and 2:00 and 7:00 Monday to Friday, and from 9:30 to 12:00 on Saturday. The apartment itself is on a pedestrian street but you can usually find a space on one of the adjacent streets. For free parking you can park outside the Bastide. The closest free parking spots to the apartment are located at the Palais de Justice on Bld Jean Jaures which is less than a 5 minute walk.

Fantastic holiday. City location has everything we wanted & more. Apartment was spacious and fully kitted out, so much so we could have taken less with us. If I'm in Carcassonne, I will definitely be using Chez George, if not fully booked up!

FANTASTIC APARTMENT!

The most amazing, spacious and comfortable apartment. In a fantastic location, which was just magical with Christmas lights and a skating rink not 2 minutes away. Very easy to walk to the medieval city. The apartment was immaculate, beautifully appointed and we really appreciated the thoughtfulness of the little extras (coffee, tea, soaps etc.). Rory and Phillip are fantastic to deal with. Highly recommend Chez Georges for a wonderful stay in Carcassonne!

HUGE APARTMENT, IN THE MIDDLE OF CARCASSONNE.

We had a fantastic stay in this apartment. High ceilings. Huge rooms. Very well laid out. We can't quite believe this apartment exists. There is nothing I can fault about this accommodation. It was better than we had imagined from the description. We would stay there again (or perhaps just move in).

SCHÖNE WOHNUNG MIT RIESIGEM PLATZANGEBOT

Eine Ferienwohnung von überwältigender Größe, schön eingerichtet und perfekt ausgestattet. Da in einer Fußgängerzone gelegen, kann man nicht in unmittelbarer Nähe der Wohnung parken. Ausreichend Parkplätze stehen an der ringförmigen Hauptstraße zur Verfügung (Parkuhr mit moderaten Preisen; ca. 5 min Fußweg zur Wohnung). Durch die zentrale Lage hat man alles direkt vor der Haustür: Straßencafes, kleine Supermärkte, Bäcker, Marktplatz mit einem tollen Angebot an Obst und Gemüse sowie Livemusik zu Zeiten des Festival de Carcassonne. Auch die Festung ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar.
Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt!

SUPER APARTMENT IN A SUPER CONVENIENT LOCATION

My wife and her parents spent four nights at Chez George. We arranged to meet the caretaker at 5pm on the day of arrival. Phil gave us a tour of the apartment and left us his contact info in the event of an emergency. When you walk in, you’re greeted to a an apartment with very tall ceilings that creates a great sense of airiness. The spacious living doom / dining area is to your left and looks out onto Rue Georges Clemenceau – a great place for people watching. The square is only a couple of blocks south of the apartment. Directly below is the café / bar. What’s cool about the apartment is having the bedroom at the back of the apartment behind an additional set of double doors. We never had any issues with noise, which is a testament to the effectiveness of the apartment layout since there were a couple of light sleepers in our group.

My Wife’s parents had no issue taking the stairs to the apartment, despite being elderly. Once in the apartment, everything is on one floor. The owners have made every effort in making the apartment a true getaway. My mother-in-law turned 80, and it was her dream to celebrate in France. The apartment was one of the highlights making it a great experience.

Parking logistics: while there is no parking outside the apartment, the streets nearby have metered parking that is very reasonable. The cool thing about the metering is that it will roll over to the next day if you max out on the number of hours to park at the meter. So we never had any issues there. There were plenty of reasonably priced restaurants and cafes nearby. And it was a breeze to walk over to La Cite to see the incredible fortified city of Carcasoone.

Would we stay here again? Absolutely – no hesitation!

The apartment is located in the heart of La Bastide St Louis in Carcassonne. Situated on a pedestrianised shopping street, the apartment is very easy to access. Only a 30 second walk to Place Carnot, you can enjoy the many restaurants, bars and cafes. Down the many side-streets of the Bastide, you can find museums and old churches to explore. Within a 15 minute walk, you can visit La Cite, passing over the River Aude. There are many walks to take at the riverside and also on the nearby Canal du Midi. Here, you can also hire bicycles or take a boat trip. The surrounding area of Carcassonne has lots to offer also. A visit to the local lake / beach Lac de la Cavayere provides swimming, outdoor pursuits and beautiful walks.

  • The master bedroom is a very large room with high ceilings and a wooden floor. It is furnished with a 2m x 2m bed for a very comfortable sleep! The second bedroom has a double bed and a sofa bed which turns into a large double bed. In total, the apartment can sleep 6. Both rooms have double wardrobes and plenty of storage. The large windows have outdoor shutters for a very 'French' feel!
