About Margarete Isherwood
Margarete & John Isherwood bought this old barn at Les Fosses in 2000 & converted it into 6 cottages, 5 of which were sold - to other Brits as it happens. Margarete & John retained No. 4 and enjoyed wonderful times there, renting it out in summer from 2003, whilst also starting their next development project about 5 minutes away. This was to be the last development, as sadly John died in 2005, leaving Margarete with the 2 French country houses & lots of precious memories. Both houses show some of John's watercolour paintings of scenes of France which he loved to paint. Margarete now rents out both houses and spends at least a month in Spring & again in Autumn in this glorious area of SW France. Ideally she'd live in France year round being a total francophile for over 40 years

Why Margarete Isherwood chose Montignac-le-Coq
Margarete first saw Les Fosses in 1999 nestling in its gentle valley as an original old stone barn, L-shaped with that gorgeous red tiled roof, in a small hamlet with fields all around. Stepping inside was magical with a warm smell of hay & old animal mangers & a sense of peace. Margarete was convinced she had found the next development project. John agreed when he saw it. And so it turned out to be......................
What makes this cottage unique
A rural French country lifestyle with lovely views from every window and from the wraparound terrace. There is total peace & quiet, no light pollution (fantastic night skies!), no traffic noise & it's very safe for children. The fenced & gated pool always proves a great hit. In summer, there are usually neighbours if you feel chatty or wish to socialise, and other children for yours to play with. But there's plenty of space & privacy for all, if you prefer to keep to yourself. Best endorsement is when a 2 week booking one year turns into a 4 week booking the following year!
