Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday home in Topanga - Modern Malibu
When you walk into our house, the din of the traffic on Pacific Coast Highway is absorbed by the soundproof walls. All you are left with is a full view of the ocean, and with the tide coming up under the deck of the main floor, it feels that you are miles out to sea. After taking your shoes off and feeling the soft teak floor on your feet, you might actually start to think you are on the deck of a ship, but as you move through the 11ft glass doors in the living room, the beach appears below you, a reminder that you are safely planted on land.
The house has many amenities you wouldn't find at sea, including 4 full bathrooms, 2 of which have rainhead showers and massaging rocks underfoot. The master bath boasts an ergonomically-shaped bathtub to soak all your cares way. The bathrooms are in short reach of 5 bedrooms that can sleep up to 13 people. The design uses space wisely as each room renders privacy, but doesn't feel cramped.
With private access to the beach you can paddle out to catch a few waves on the private surf break in front of the house, take a kayak for a spin, or just walk along the sand. If you're looking for a more urban adventure, you are only 7 miles from Santa Monica or 1 mile from the Getty Villa, making shopping or sightseeing a short trip. When you're tired and hungry you can head to the hot tub for a quick soak before making dinner in the fully outfitted kitchen. Taking advantage of the kitchen's 2 sinks, 2 ovens, full refrigerator, and beverage fridge, you could feed an entire army if needed. After dinner you can watch the stars while listening to the waves from the top deck, which features a massive patio area with seating and a copper fire pit, and an elevated view of Malibu.

I grew up in La Canada, outside of Los Angeles, and my family has been in the building business for four generations. I built this house, and the house I live in currently in La Canada.
We love this house because it provides us a quiet getaway, and yet, you're at arms reach of numerous bustling cities. We also love it because it allows our active family a perfect vacation full of activities. The house has a history too, newly constructed to withstand an 8 point earthquake, replacing a burnt down cottage.
