We chose this place because of the location. All of us having lived in New Orleans before and wanted to be in the Quarter, but not smack in the middle of Bourbon Street. To give you a background on us, our ages ranged from 26 to 62, two picky hospitality professors, a chef and a couple real estate executives – we are all very picky as we travel quite frequently. Having worked in the hotel industry in New Orleans, it was great choosing this location because you are literally 2 blocks from The Ruby Slipper Café and 3 blocks from Frenchmen Street. For those of you that don’t know, Frenchmen Street is ground zero for all the music acts in New Orleans, there are several bars and Jazz venues along Frenchmen. In addition, it is 5 blocks from the shops at Royal Street & 7 blocks from the French Market. The funky neighborhood of the Bywater is also nearby. Now that we have hammered down on the location, the house in itself was great. It was clean and decorated elegantly with classic New Orleans wall hangings. All beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were nicely done and had a lot of towels. The rooms were amazingly spacious with a well-designed kitchen with easy access. The back deck was great for enjoying a drink and catching up with friends. Although a car is not necessary, the private parking was a bonus.
My group had an outstanding stay at this perfect house in the Marigny. We came down to New Orleans for a long weekend (4 nights) for the NOLA marathon as well as a 40th bday celebration and sibling get together. I am thrilled we chose to stay here. Alex made everything so easy and provided us with all the information we could possibly need. The house is well equipped (plus, a nice welcome package of beer, coffee and king cake awaited our arrival), the back deck is great for hanging out (spacious, private and great for alfresco dining), and the sound system is stellar. A lot of care has obviously gone into this house and it shows. With this nice neighborhood a quick little walk to the quarter (Pauger essentially turns into Bourbon), I would highly recommend staying here to anyone. I know I'd love to return!
I stayed here with 3 friends and it was perfect. Alex met at the house and gave us a quick tour. There was local beer in the fridge which was a nice treat after traveling all day. The house was clean and spacious. We were fortunate enough to have beautiful weather and started each morning with coffee outside on the lovely deck. The location cannot be beat. You are within short walking distance of the french quarter (this street turns into Bourbon Street), Royal and Frenchman which have numerous restaurant and music options.
I cannot stop talking about this past weekend and the unbelievable time that we had in New Orleans and the absolutely, unbelievable, most amazing house we got to stay in for our trip. It is brand new, everything is so gorgeous, so clean, super stylish, and in a great location to be away from the madness but close to walk everywhere. It was a 30th Birthday Surprise trip for my husband and our best friends. Alex was such an unbelievable host and greeted us at the door with my husband's favorite band playing in the house's surround sound! Alex showed us the workings of the house and kept us up on key details of the location and had local beer in the fridge and cookies on the table. It was a weekend filled with memories and just absolute perfection and Alex was a very big part of that happening. We can't wait to visit again and stay in the house again! Alex we are coming back! Thank you so much!
Very nice house in a very fun part of town. The owners are friendly, helpful and accommodating and the housing and amenities far exceeded our expectations. We all had a wonderful time and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I went down to New Orleans with my wife and a few other couples and let me tell you, this house will not disappoint. The bedrooms were spacious and cozy, the patio was amazing (pictures don't do it justice), and to get to Bourbon you take 1 street for the short 8 minute walk, which is nothing in LA weather. The house has all the amenities you could ask for including a full house and patio stereo system. The doors even work off a password which makes it keyless entry! This house carries all the charm of New Orleans, but with updated amenities. The neighborhood is quiet so it allows you to get away from the craziness of Bourbon and finish your night on the patio with a cold drink! I will stay in this house again when I go back to New Orleans!!! Alex is the man and delivered on EVERYTHING he promised us.
