Well-maintained accommodation for six guests, ideal for families or mixed groups

In the best location on sought-after development, an attractive villa with excellent views available for short-term rentals. It has a spacious, well-furnished lounge with small library, safe, top quality television with UK satellite and a large selection of DVD films for cosy nights in. An archway leads through to the dining area with doors to a shady lani, a secluded, sunny patio and small private garden with sun loungers, table and chairs. Ceiling fans keep the house cool in summer whilst there is a big log fire and panel radiators for winter evenings. Separate, well-equipped kitchen with oven, hob, fridge and pantry; utility room with dishwasher and washing machine. Three double bedrooms, two with balcony and all with panoramic views, served by three bathrooms, one en-suite to the master bedroom. Built in low-rise pueblo style with well-maintained gardens and two large communal swimming pools. Please check below that your dates are available and email for an e-brochure.

Activities: In the favoured south-west of the island, the main beach offers all kinds of water sports, whilst there is an excellent scuba diving school based in the marina. Mallorca's coastline is full of contrasts with many pretty bays, coves and clear turquoise seas. The house is ideally placed to discover the picturesque hilly pine clad south-west of the island, the rocky north coast, Deya, Valdemossa, historic Palma and many beautiful beaches. There is excellent hiking and cycling; one of our favourite days out is to walk or horse-ride in the hills above nearby Calvia. Santa Ponsa has 3 local golf courses which have hosted the Mallorcan Classic European Tour Event, whilst tennis is available at several local clubs. Children will enjoy the nearby attractions of Jungle Park, Marineland, Aquapark and go-carting. In summer the entertainment quarter offers a wide variety of restaurants, bars & clubs together with a very professional open-air stage show in the main square: it's a much quieter resort in winter.

Baby-sitting: A reliable and experienced baby-sitter is available.

Indoor swimming pool and 'Jungle Park': Whilst there are two swimming pools, more serious swimmers and winter guests will enjoy the brand new indoor public pool within five minutes walk. This state-of-the art installation holds a 25m pool with aerobics / gym section, and costs about €5 for a day pass. Very popular with children is 'Jungle Park', an adventure playground with tree-walks and exciting activities; this is near the marina, about a fifteen-minute walk.

We're always here to help you...: Santa Ponsa is a 20-minute drive from the airport and is very easy to find, with good, fast roads all the way. There are always plenty of taxis and the airport fare is about 40 euros. However, hiring a car undoubtedly adds to your enjoyment as there is so much to see around this lovely island. Car hire at the airport is inexpensive with new cars which can be booked ahead. I am happy to recommend excellent car-hire companies and will provide simple directions for driving from the airport. NB Keys are available whatever time you arrive.

Near to the house is an excellent and free drop-in health centre staffed by English, German and Spanish-speaking doctors. Although based in the UK we speak Spanish and English and my local english manager is only a phone call away should you experience any problems, need assistance or simply want advice to ensure you enjoy a great holiday on this magical island.

Great Relaxing Holiday

A great time had by the family. Great villa with the pool just outside the front door. We found the villa to be clean and just what we wanted for a relaxing holiday. The information pack Grahame supplied in the villa gave us great advice on places to eat and we used this every night, visiting some great restaurants and bars. Not a long walk to the main shops and restaurants but could be a bit of a hike on the way back although a taxi was only 4 euro. Told a few friends and family about the villa and we will visit again..

Fantastic family holiday.

We had the most wonderful holiday. We took our daughter, mum and a couple of friends. Loved santa ponsa, and perfect location as not too far by car for more livelier night life. Few lovely family evenings round the table were had on the patio with picturesque setting we are already planning our return. See you next year ! Thanks again to grahame couldn't have made it easier :0)

Fantastic Holiday!

Property exactly as described, spacious, homely and clean. We had a great ten days in very hot weather. The pools are lovely and clean and there was always sun loungers available. The kids mainly used the bottom pool but we used the top pool next to the property, literally a few steps from our front door. the fan didn't work in one of the bedrooms whilst we were there but this was rectified quickly with the provision of a free standing fan during our stay which we were very happy with. Santa Ponsa is a great place to take a family. The villas are situated up a steep hill but we found a short cut after a couple of days, there are steps next to Portofino Restaurant which cuts the killer hill out a bit. Portofino Restaurant was our favourite, good value food and very friendly waiting staff. The only critical thing I could say is that air conditioning would have been beneficial but this was only because there was a heatwave whilst we were there and it was over 35 degrees every day. We will be back, thanks again.

Ideal house in a good location and excellent value

I cannot recommend this property enough. The location is quiet but near enough to the centre of Santa Ponsa to enjoy the beaches and night-life. It's also easy to drive to other parts of Majorca. The house is larger than we expected, with a balcony, private terrace and small garden. There were six of us and we never felt hemmed in, not sure the photos do it justice and compared to other villas we have stayed in the rental price offered a very good deal. The children splashed out at the big pool, where they made good friends, whilst we preferred the peaceful pool next to the house. The house was well-furnished and very clean, however, not everything went smoothly. One of the three showers stopped working at the end of our first week and was not fixed until the following day. There were no instructions for the dishwasher or washing machine, although we worked them out. Nonetheless, the owners were really pleasant, gave us lots of information and all our communications were excellent. Niggles apart, this was a wonderful holiday and I thoroughly recommend it.

Sorry about the shower: these things do happen sometimes and getting a plumber out on a Sunday is nigh impossible. When someone is coming to somewhere they don't know good communications are paramount. Hence we always try to answer any questions or sort issues out as quickly as possible. beautiful and spacious villa with great views

a beautiful and spacious villa with great views of santa ponsa and beyond. situated about 30 minutes by taxi from the airport, and about 20 minutes from palma. santa ponsa is an ideal base for anyone wanting to discover the scenic and mountainous west side of mallorca,
the villa itself has all the unessential's needed, three bedrooms three bathrooms one on suite, lounge, kitchen, dinning room, kitchen and utility room, the upstairs balcony is a nice place to sit and watch the sunset, or enjoy your breakfast, and there is also a seating area in the garden, with sun loungers,
the owner was extremely helpful, providing guides and local information, all transfers and change overs where very smooth and simple.
the hill to town and back is quite challenging, but worth it for the views on offer.
we really enjoyed our stay here and would defo stay again.

2 families with teenage boys

Wanted to choose somewhere that was lively enough for the teenagers but where the adults could "get away from it" if needed and this was perfect!
The villa was just as described, very well equipped. It was lovely having a pool just outside the front door although it was sometimes hard to get a sunbed because they had been "saved" by other residents.
We breakfasted on the balcony, which had lovely views over the country park down to the sea and we ate downstairs on the covered patio .(walk to the cross on the hill for excellent views)
The villa is in a quiet part of Santa Ponsa but only a 10 minute stroll downhill to the beaches & marina.
We liked the small town beach as it was less crowded and there are a couple of bars there too!
It is a hard walk back uphill in the heat ! Just think of it as your daily workout! :o(
The boys enjoyed the nightlife in Santa Ponsa (not as mad as Magalluf!) so a good choice all round. We felt safe leaving them in town on their own at night.
They also enjoyed their own space, watching DVD's while we were up and out.
The owners' information folder was excellent and we took advantage of some of the recommendations and took trips to the lovely hill villages of Deia and Valdemossa (nb -warning : we stopped at a viewpoint and had a bag stolen from the car, so look after your belongings!)
The train from Palma to Soller is a must and from there you can get a tram down to Soller Port. We also visited Portals Vells beach as mentioned in the pack and took a drive to the walled town of Alcudia in the North.
Other excursions were a lovely 5 hour catamaran trip (€25 pp) round the coast, this included lunch and sangria, although the stuff you paid for from the bar was far superior! ,
the Western water park in Magalluf (€25 pp )
and the Pirates adventure (€52 pp) like the owner says, expensive excellent acrobatic show, mediocre food) My hubby didn't fancy it so he took himself off to the Casino and came out €17 up which just about covered the photo the boys forced us to buy at the show!
There are also very good crazy golf courses in Magalluf and Palma Nova which were good for a family challenge .
There are lots of restaurants in Santa Ponsa, 2 we enjoyed were Meson del Rei (lovely paella) and Crocs which is next to the Okay Cafe , another nice bar in which to sit and people watch.
For cocktails we liked the Golf Bar where you sit upstairs and have a nice view of the beach.

Santa Ponsa is a delightful safe family resort in the most popular and warmest part of the island. The extensive white sandy beaches and gently-sloping shallow waters appeal to all ages: deck chairs, sun shades, beach bars and cafes add to the appeal - as do the parrots living in the pine trees to one side of the main beach. In an established residential area offering panoramic views over the attractive bay of Santa Ponsa, golf courses and lovely countryside which forms the national park, the villa is a 10 minute stroll down to the two beaches, bars, shops and supermarkets. Restaurants in the area vary from budget family eating to 5* gourmet. There are three golf courses, a marina and a scuba-diving school. Cosmopolitan Palma with its cathedral, harbour, historic old town, superb shopping, wide variety of restaurants and sophisticated night-life is only 15 minutes by car or taxi.

Golf: Santa Ponsa has much to offer golfers. There are 3 attractive courses with a fourth, Club de Poniente, only a few minutes away; these courses are of a very high standard. Golf 1, for example, is a par-72 course at 6,106 metres and costs about 75 euros a round.

  • Large, comfortably-furnished bedrooms with quality mattresses, English pillows, extensive built-in wardrobes and ceiling fans. The master bedroom, with a huge king-size twin-linked bed, has it's own en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom contains a standard double, whilst the third has two single beds. Two of the bedrooms share a large covered balcony, perfect for breakfast, offering views of the national park towards the hills The third enjoys views over the upper pool and rooftops towards the charming county town of Calvia. We are happy to provide a cot and high chair at no charge but please note the maximum number of guests including children is six, since the small fourth bedroom is not available. A reliable and experienced baby-sitter is available. We're delighted to say that some of our guests have enjoyed themselves so much that they have become regular visitors.

Notes:
There are ample sun loungers and reed umbrellas round each of the pools and as this is a private development no reserving of the sun beds! The upper pool tends to be a peaceful place to read a book; the lower pool is more for families. Please note that because of their unique layout, the gardens include several small flights of steps but no disabled ramps. Coupled with a fair walk up the hill from the beach, this is really not suitable for people of impaired mobility unless you have a car. The development is, however, very secure, with gated access so is ideal for families. A cot and high chair are available on request at no charge. Smoking: To comply with our insurance we respectfully request our guests not to smoke within the house.
