Airport Transfers and Boat Rental: Guests have the option to transfer by taxi boat directly from the airport to the villa mooring (or Milna Town - 3km away). Rental cars can be delivered to the villa by prior arrangement. Villa Duboka has negotiated with a selection of local charter companies to deliver skippered or dry hire boats to the bay. Exciting day excursions to Hvar and the surrounding islands for up to 11 people are also available.

The sleepy village of Milna, just 2 km from the villa, comes alive in the spring and summer with yachts from all over the world. Local olive oil, wine and port tastings are a must in the village. Visit the local vegetable and fruit market, bakery and wine cellar and buy your fresh fish directly off the fishing boats in the morning.

Open air cafes line the harbour and the local restaurants serve Dalmatian specialities including Brac lamb, local grilled fish and peka made in traditional stone ovens. Milna Harbour is the bay of a thousand ships - safe harbour to ships large and small for over 400 years.One of the original coastal villages on Brac, Milna has always been a centre of culture and commerce.

Magical holiday at Villa Duboka BRAC, CROATIA

Two families from London ( 6 children ranging from 11-15 years)

Our first visit to Croatia exceeded all expectations. Flights to Split with EasyJet incredibly reasonable if booked in advance, an easy drive to the harbour and only a 50 min crossing to BRAC. Top tip - much better to arrive on a Sunday. Ferry busy with long waits on Sat. Beautiful, unspoilt destination and amazing value for money which helps when feeding 4 teenagers! A capuccino in a lovely cafe overlooking the harbour in the pretty village of Milna 80p! Fresh fruit and vegetable market open all day and fish available on the quayside direct from fishing boats made self-catering easy. Also lots of local delicacies to try.

We had the most amazing two weeks in your gorgeous home - what a special place you are lucky! Thank you so much for fitting in with our dates. The weather was incredible - hot and sunny every day and we fell in love with Duboka Bay. The children spent hours in the kayaks and the two 11 year olds became very confident which was lovely to watch. We did some exploring on Brac and went to Hvar for the day (hired a large rib which was a huge success and kids water skied for the first time) but spent a lot of our time in Milna (charming place great choice of bars and restaurants) and at your house because it was so relaxing and beautiful. The house was brilliantly set up for 2 families - you have thought of everything. The outside space was perfect and we loved the wood BBQ - it became a real focal point at the end of the evening. Having two terraces meant the kids could have their own space after supper to chill which was ideal. Ali was great so helpful and easy going - nothing was too much trouble.
We all had a magical time and by the end of the holiday we felt well and truly settled and had no desire to come home! We promise to come back.

Our family of 5 stayed at this villa from 5/27/12 to 6/4/12. The villa was exactly as advertised. The villa is very spacious and well thought out. Of note is that most rooms including the guest house have their own separate keyed entrance which is great when vacationing with more than one family. The villa is also very airy with several large windows and huge sliding doors that give the feeling of vacationing al-fresco. Another refreshing feature is that the house runs mainly on solar power which for those of us green consumers is a nice bonus. The master suite was breathtaking with its private terrace and huge sliding doors which opened up almost a 180 degree open panorama to the warm Med. breezes. The surrounding land was abundant which made exploring the flora and fauna very fun for our girls. The staff and property management were extremely friendly and professional which made us feel right at home. Lastly the people of both Brac island and Croatia in general some of the kindest, most generous people I have met anywhere in the world. I have already recommended both the country and this villa specifically to our friends and give this place 5 enthusiastic stars.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Duboka, thank you. All the information you provided prior to our arrival was excellent. The coordination of the transfer from Split airport by sea taxi, subsequent meal at Milna, delivery of the car by Vanja, and then meeting with Ali before travelling to the Villa, all made a super start to the holiday. That part was much appreciated as we realise the alternative route by ferry etc would have taken a great deal longer especially in an area unfamiliar to us.

Having the initial shopping delivery was also a significant help.

Nina kindly coordinated our sailing day which we very much enjoyed.

We decided to take the sea taxi from the villa to Split on on our return journey, Vanja travelled to the villa on the sea taxi which enabled him to collect the car from the villa and again made for a hassle free method of travel and maximised our time in Split on the Sunday. The sea taxi dropped us off close to the ferry terminal where we were able to store our large luggage bags for the day before getting a taxi to the airport. For groups staying for a week I feel our arrival and departure method really made for a good use of time. You clearly realised that and your offer to include the sea taxi for the arrival was very kind.

The villa itself was perfect for our family.

The hire of the extra kayaks proved a great success. We tended to kayak in the mornings, before the wind increased, and then lunch in Milna before returning to the villa in the afternoon and cooking there in the evening. We had two trips out, one with the sea taxi to Hvar and Paklini islands for the day and one on the sailing boat. We did not explore the island as the villa and Milna proved ideal for a relaxing week.

I have just come back from my third visit to this villa. It is my favourite holiday and my children love it! The swimming pool is a welcome addition for the children but I still prefer the amazingly clear sea. I even took my parents this year and there is definately room for larger group who want to do different things. There are three large terraces and the views are stunning.
The owners seem to have thought about everything that you want to do, snorkling, canoeing, cycling, and swimming- with a lovely spot by the sea.
My children are 11, 8 and 5 and my parents are in their seventies and I would recommend it for most age groups.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
