THE BARN, BIRDHAM

The external views of the barn do not do it justice nor do they give you an appreciation of the tranquil setting or the attractive living space inside. It is a lovely, light, spacious building with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.The accommodation is on the first floor and is reached by two short flights of stairs. The bedrooms are a reasonable size and the beds are comfortable with nice linen and towels provided. There is one bathroom (no bath) with toilet, sink and shower cubicle and a separate toilet on the ground floor. We had been concerned that it may be hard to heat such a large living space with high ceiling, but the many electric heaters are very efficient. As well as the fenced garden in the photo, there is a large paddock (home to a huge variety of wildlife, which we loved watching) where we were able to exercise our dog, which was great! The local footpaths took us on lovely walks in all directions-many with views of the South downs and river estuary. The owners very kindly organized a change over on Easter Sunday for us and were friendly and helpful. We had a great week at 'The Barn' and would definitely consider booking it again. Many thanks!

Excellent accomodation, plenty of space with all mod cons and lots of comfy sofas! Warm and welcoming, with lovely views over countryside. Some of our party enjoyed cycling and walking, and it was a good base to enjoy some retail therapy and good restaurants in Portsmouth and Chichester! Would definitely recommend to family and friends and would hope to re-visit ourselves in the future.
