THE COTTAGE AND VILLA SET IN BEAUTIFUL MATURE PLANTATION GROUNDS

These 3 units are set amongst the 2.5 acres of tropical gardens surrounding Pollards Mill, one of Barbados’ hidden gems. The plantation dates from 1712 and is nestled in a corner of the leafy parish of St. Philip. Also set within the grounds is a stunning 18th century sugar mill. The Cottage has been lovingly restored to offer luxury self-catering accommodation for 6 people. The property hosts a variety of plants and wildlife and any early risers might enjoy watching our resident family of monkeys taking their morning stroll and breakfast!

There is a large size pool available for guests use and parking. The cottage boasts a large terrace with furniture, perfect for outside dining or just enjoying the sun.

The property is approximately a 5 minute drive from Crane beach and approximately a 10 minute drive from the beautiful secluded beaches of Bottom Bay and Foul Bay.

This property is situated on the idyllic and tranquil eastern side of Barbados a short drive to six roads you can find banks, post office, supermarket, gas station and good shopping.

A 5 minute drive will take your to the beaches of Foul Bay and the renowned Crane Beach (one of the top 10 beaches in the world ).

If you want to visit our personal favourite beach beach on the island, then Bottom bay is a 15 minute drive. Take the BBQ with you !

A 20 minutes drive will take you to the popular St Lawrence Gap which is renowned for its thriving night-life, including numerous bars and restaurants.

It might be tranquil on the East coast, but its only a 30 minute drive to Barbados' busy capital, Bridgetown, where you can enjoy a catamaran Day Cruise, visit the Mount Gay Rum Tour and enjoy the Atlantis submarine. and much much more...

Beautifully interior designed apartment, french doors open into Large living room comfortable sofas, side tables and lamps. Dining area looks on to terrace with fantastic views of the garden and the ocean. breakfast bar with bar stools, fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs Master bedroom suite french doors to the terrace, king size bed, side tables with lamps 2 comfy chairs, 2 large bright windows look on to the garden. sitting area with sofa looking onto the large terrace. En-suite spa bathroom, bright and airy spa tub, separate shower, enclosed toilet, double sinks, mirrors and lights above.

I am the mother of 5 grown children and have 2 lovely grandchildren, who live in the UK so I don't see them as much as I would like!! I am an animal lover and have been significantly involved in helping The Hope Sanctuary here, which is about 15 minutes from Pollards Mill. I love peace and tranquility, but I also like to meet people. I very much enjoy entertaining and often have my guests for a drink or to dinner, cooking, walking, swimming especially in my pool, which is large and quite secluded. I like reading and belong to a book club here on the island and the members are from different walks of life and differing ages and sexes, which makes for very stimulating discussions!!

I bought Pollards Mill, because of the beautiful setting, the peace, tranquility and its history, which I am still trying to obtain information about. Also it has been a tremendous project for me, as I have done extensive renovations to the property in the grounds and with the buildings.

Views, peace, privacy really it is in it's own little world. I am a great fan of the book 'Gone With the Wind' so when I came here I knew it had to be mine because of the old plantation bell outside the front door, which has now become my logo. So I now feel I am really living the dream. When I leave I cannot wait to return here. The Mill, which still stands within the grounds is also very inspirational and is in very good condition. I love to sit on the lawn in front of my patio and just drink in the view whilst relaxing sunbathing and reading my book. There are many little corners in the grounds to escape to as well as some amazing old trees. On the bottom lawn there is what I would call a 'fairy ring' created by a circle of palm trees this is very magical!

Notes:
The luxury holiday apartment 'Plantation View' has been recently built for the use by honeymoon couples. However, it would be equally suitable for that romantic break or a couple with their first baby. It has been decorated and tastefully furnished to a high standard. The living space is light and airy and has easy access to the beautiful gardens of Pollards Mill. The swimming pool is within a few yards of the accommodation. The apartment is located on the far end of the main building with its own gated entrance. The double doors open out on to a lovely tiled area. Upstairs there is one large master bedroom with a very spacious bathroom, which includes a 'his' and 'hers' basins, a large bath standing on its own platform and a separate shower and toilet. The double doors open on to a shaded balcony, which enjoys the evening sun a great place to enjoy that end of day 'sundowner' looking out to the sea and the wonderful sunsets.
