About Mike Giguere
After having vacationed in Oqunquit for almost 20 years, we decided it was time to consider buying a home in OGT. Our 2011 summer vacation included a significant amount of time looking at possible properties that we could purchase. While this involved a trade off which kept us off the beach a bit more than we had hoped, it allowed us to find this wonderful property, albeit in need of a bit of repair.
Mike Giguere purchased this cottage in 2011
Why Mike Giguere chose Ogunquit
When we spotted 'the Buddha house' as we named it because of the laughing Buddha statue the former owners had in the front yard, we knew that this property had the potential to be both a place for us to vacation and a home that could also be a rental property. The home's location amongst the trees offered the privacy and quiet we desired in a location that is a short distance from the restaurants and beach that draw us back to OGT each year. In December 2011, we purchased this property from its former owners and then set out to make plans to hire a contractor that would be able to work with us in renovating this property.
What makes this cottage unique
This 1929 cottage reflected the charm that is Maine although it was in need of a bit of renovation to return it to its full potential, we knew that this location was the right place for us. After the renovation effort that started in the Winter of 2012 and concluded in the Spring of 2013, the property is fully renovated.
The summer of 2013 was the first summer where the property was available for summer rental enjoyment. Those guests that stayed with us had a great experience as reflected in our seven 5 Star reviews
We hope if you do join us and that you find the house as charming as we do.
