You will return with black and blue marks from pinching yourself as you experience the incredible luxury and breathtaking experience of spending one of the best vacations of your life, whether it is marveling at the white powder beaches by foot or on horseback or the perfection of the velvet like grass of the world-class golf courses, with competition level deep sea fishing available, gourmet restaurants and nightlife at the nearby Punta Cana village. It is my commitment to make not only the accommodations but the entire experience enjoyable, comfortable and safe, I am US born and have vacationed myself in the Dominican Republic for several years, and I will insure the trip and stay surpasses your highest expectations.
I am a Californian that currently lives in Madrid Spain and 5 years ago was introduced to the paradise on earth that is the Dominican Republic by my close friends that live there. After enjoying year after year of wonderful vacations with them and my family, we decided to invest in a luxury property in Samaná and later purchased the penthouse apartment in Sotogrande at Cap Cana. As an engineer, I am a sticker for details and understand that vacations are meant to be fun and trouble-free. Let me know what you are looking to do and I will advise you of your choices, regardless of whether you decide to stay in our unit.
Jim Novack purchased this apartment in 2011
Cap Cana is a secure, access-controlled luxury resort that was built at the height of the tourism and real estate boom on a truly unique stretch of 5 miles of white powder beach. It is unlikely that such an opulent and well-planned development will be matched for decades to come. Cap Cana is the best of US-oriented luxury and convenience, but minutes away from all the natural and unspoiled beauty of the Dominican Republic. You can golf, horseback ride, rent quads or buggies, zip-line, dance, drink or just rest on truly virtual-reality perfect beaches that test your senses as to whether it is real or your imagination...
Punta Cana Airport is 10 minutes away by taxi, world-class Jack Nicklaus´Punta Espada Golf Course and Golden Bear Lodge, deep sea fishing, scuba, horseback riding on the beach, buggies through the Dominican countryside, night life, restaurants, and above all the sweetness and willingness to please of the Dominican people who routinely answer with a smile whenever you ask, 'A la orden' (as you order/wish)...
We were looking for a peaceful getaway. This was exactly what we experienced. The booking process was simple and efficient. The info provided was thorough. The condo was clean and the views were amazing. I highly recommend sand we hope to return.
We had a wonderful stay at this condo. The location is ideal making it perfect for rest and relaxation. My boyfriend and I enjoyed all the amenities of the condo. We cooked breakfast every morning and ate on the terrace looking at the beautiful view. The condo is a great size for a couple. Because it is located away from most of the other resorts, there is not too much to explore on foot but we walked to Juanillo beach several days. We did also drive into the main area of Bavaro but quickly realized that we preferred the peace and quiet of Sotogrande. Jim was extremely helpful and quick to respond to any questions that I had. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and would like to return again!
Fabulous, low key vacation Condo located on the "end of the beach strip". If you want to relax and enjoy excellent service this is the place to be! The resort is beautiful with very friendly staff. The property manager was awesome and most helpful. Everything I saw online was what I received. For sure a 5 star property that is perfect for couples with or without children.
This was our 2nd visit to Sotogrande.
Again, the skies and water were clear and blue, a balmy weather, a luxury accommodation - all you need to relax with calm & peace -for us it is simply the BEST place for relaxation and pure enjoyment.
It is deliciously quiet. You are completely surrounded by the sea breeze that brings with it the calming sounds of the beach waves; a place that inspires you to meditate, relax and let go.
We have stopped again for a relaxing vacation but we'd left treasuring and appreciating more the island’s rich heritage. The locals do everything possible to accommodate tourists while at the same time holding dearly to their own cultural standards.
By the way, our Spanish is getting better.
A la proxima Jim!
We spent November 6th to 16th at the condo. Jim was very easy to work with, responded quickly and answered all of our questions.
The condo is as lovely as depicted in the pictures. Open concept, airy, spotless and with a wonderful view from the terrace. We loved eating our breakfast on the terrace and at night enjoying a glass of wine with dinner.
My husband and I love to cook and we had no problem without an oven. I noticed on the amenities section of the condo description it lists that there is a dishwasher but there isn’t. That was no problem for us at all as Argentina the housekeeper cleaned up the dishes for us daily.
She is a gem and will come in the morning at whatever time you request and clean the condo, do the dishes, laundry as need be etc and leave when she is finished. We found her to be a great asset.
The resort itself is immaculate. The pool and beach are beautiful. As others have said, it isn’t busy, so if you want nothing to do but read and relax, this is where you need to be. I think there was maybe 10 other couples/families.
We stopped at the grocery store near the airport for our supplies. It is a large store with a very good selection and reasonable prices.
We ate lunch at the pool bar a few days and the food was excellent.
My husband suffered a very bad cut and required hospital care for 2 ½ days. The hotel staff was amazing in an emergency situation and in taking control. Cap Cana has its own ambulance and fire services and the ambulance was there very quickly. He received excellent care in the hospital.
We rented a car and were very glad we did as I had to travel back and forth to the hospital. The directions from the airport are straight forward but we arrived after dark and it was pouring so we opted for a GPS and we were very glad we did. Once you have made the drive it is easy to remember but at night in the pouring rain the GPS was necessary.
Overall it was a wonderful trip and I would definitely stay at Sotogrande again and highly recommend it to anyone
My wife and I were looking for a very relaxing vacation location to unwind from having a very busy June. We picked the perfect place. The condo was simply awesome and fit our needs and expectations to the tee. The unit has the most amazing view of the ocean and our evening cocktails on the patio were unsurpassed. Every night we enjoyed the view, the gentle breeze off the ocean, the great weather and a very relaxing glass of wine. We were unsure about making this trip in July; would it be too hot or too rainy. We had amazing weather. While it rained every night it did so well into the evening and it did not spoil one evening's dinner at the complex's open air restaurant. We would highly recommend the all inclusive meal and drink plan as it gave us several options to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner either at the condo complex or at the Sanctuary Hotel, a short walk from the condo. The condo complex staff is very, very friendly and we enjoyed daily room cleaning service. Food was very, very good and we can honestly say we were not disappointed in any of the meals we were served. Our favorites were the salads which were prepared fresh for each serving. We did not go into town to eat since, as I mentioned, we were on the meal plan, so I cannot comment about food at the Village restaurants. My wife and I are both golfers and golf in the Dominican is exceptional. We have played and stayed many times at Casa de Campo but were looking for a different experience this time. We played twice at La Cana Country Club (Pete Dye) and the course was in amazing shape. Greens were awesome and we had to look really close to see any imperfections in the fairways or around the greens. The price was right also, much cheaper than Punta Espada which was incredibly beautiful but I really don't like to pay $200-300 for a round of golf. The beach at the condo complex was experiencing some issues since storms out in the Atlantic had kicked up a great amount of seaweed and it was washing up on shore and created a major problem for the complex staff to clean up. They did an amazing job given the quantity of the stuff and it did not prevent us from enjoying the beach. The beach has the best shade covers I have seen and, since I burn easily, I found one the best beach locations for me to just chill out and read without worrying about getting cremated. Lounge chairs and towels were provided. The owner was so professional to work with. Gave us great information that was accurate and complet
Cap Cana is a secure, access-controlled luxury resort city that spans 5 miles of virgin Caribbean beachfront, with 3 golf courses and competition-level sports fishing facilities. It is minutes away from the town of Punta Cana, that is full of entertainment and restaurant choices, for the relaxed or adventure-seeking vacation, as you wish.
