‘Fortunato’ is a very charming and child-friendly houseboat. It has a terrace, where you can enjoy breakfast or play games while sitting next to the water. Next to the boat is a garden available that you are welcome to use.
Jan, the owner of the houseboat, has a few special offers: First, he rents out bicycles. By bike, you can easily get to the centre of the city in about 5 minutes. Jan would also be glad to take you on a bicycle tour through Amsterdam, or, if desired, a boat tour through the canals of the city. Further, Jan offers the services as a personal chauffeur for tours to other cities in the Netherlands worth visiting. Also, cities in Belgium, like Antwerp or Brussels, or Cologne and Aachen in Germany, can be arranged.
The boat is not shared with anyone else so your privacy is assured.

we had a wonderful time in Amsterdam. The house boat was clean, well equipped and nicely decorated (the shower is amazing!). It accommodated four adults with ease. The location, away from the main drag, was peaceful but a choice of two trams and a bus stop all nearby meant that getting into down town Amsterdam was a breeze. The boat has a beautiful patio area into the canal, we ate breakfast here in the morning and enjoyed afternoon drinks as the sun went down. The resident swans, heron and ducks on the canal provided the wildlife! The micro brewery in a windmill nearby was a lovely hub of local activity with some pleasant beers to sample. Jan the owner went above and beyond to help us, organising our arrival and departure was a breeze and he was most accommodating. I would thoroughly recommend the house boat if you're looking for a real taste of life in Amsterdam, will definitely return.
My 3 friends and me went to this house to have a relaxing weekend as we have just turned 40! The house was freezing cold when we arrived at around 7pm as the heating didn't work. Nevertheless, the owner was really kind and returned our money back, looked for a hotel and paid our taxi. We can't say much about the house as we didn't stay enough time.
a very nice boat and Jan was very friendly. The swans next to the veranda are so beautiful. The weather was rainy, but We enjoyed the view to the River on the veranda. Everthing was clean inside the boat and it was a perfect weekend in Amsterdam.
Great place to stay. Ideally located for the city. A lovely houseboat and we had a relaxing stay. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
The booking process was easy and hassle free. Jan was super to work with, and accommodated us with an early check-in after an overnight flight. We needed rest, so this was the perfect place to unwind. It was further out-of-town than we anticipated, but once we got our bearings, we figured it out. Jan also took us to our river boat on the day we were leaving, saving us another big travel hassle with luggage. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean, our 2 primary concerns when traveling. Definitely enjoyed our low-key houseboat in Amsterdam!!!
Great location, nice accommodations, very friendly host A few more cooking utensils and kitchen towels. And hot pads (for hot pans, etc.)
My wife an I had a pleasant stay at Amsterdam on this nice little boat. Sitting in the sun while having breakfast was one highlight of our trip. Jan is a gentle and helpfull host We recommended the accomodation to our friends
The houseboat is located in Zeeburgerpad in a pleasant and quiet neighbourhood. It’s close to the centre of Amsterdam, easily accessible by car or public transportation.
Nearby, you will find the Funen windmill and a microbrewery called “het ij”. Latter has an open tasting room from Wednesdays to Sundays.
Within a 15 minute walking distance you will pass by Artis Magistrallis, the zoo, the former VOC warehouse, and the Waterlooplein, where you can find Amsterdam’s most famous flee market.
Close to the houseboat you also will find nice cafés where you can relax and enjoy yourselves.
Busses and trams pass by every 10 minutes, the closest stop is within a 3-minute walking distance.
