Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in St Mawes - 17 the Bowling Green
Tastefully decorated & end of cul-de-sac property in the heart of the Roseland

17 the Bowling Green is our own holiday home that we regularly use. The house is tucked away at the end of a cul-de-sac in St-Just-in-Roseland. The village is conveniently situated between St Mawes and the King Harry Ferry, a short-cut to Truro and well known for its church set on the waters edge amongst exotic sub-tropical plants. The house and garden are ideal for guests with children or dogs as the gardens are enclosed. There is a lovely sitting room with open fire, TV , wireless broadband, dining room, new kitchen, new bathroom with powerful shower, one double (super-king size bed), one twin and one en-suite single bedroom. The single room also has a TV. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob and extractor, microwave, fridge and a freezer. Adjacent to it is a small utility room with access to a large kennel. Behind the house is a lovely sheltered patio and private garden. There is ample parking space for 2 cars. Well-behaved children and dogs are very welcome. No smoking.

Why you should visit: A visit to the Roseland Peninsular in Cornwall is like a time trip to Britain in the 60's. Things move in a much slower and relaxed pace and the public toilets stay open all night without vandalism. Leaning against the harbour wall of St Mawes with a pasty or a clotted cream ice cream in your hand watching various types of

boats moving in and out, you will feel all the stress going as well. Or enjoy walking miles and miles of unspoilt beaches with your family or dogs. And yet, if you hop across to Falmouth or Truro via a short but scenic ferry ride, you will be spoil for choice with wonderful shops and tempting eateries. Or, if you would like to make a pleasant day out to Padstow for Rick Stein's sea food restaurant, gallery visits in St Ives, the Eden Project, wind-surfing in Newquay or St. Michael's Mount, 17 the Bowling Green is an ideal base. You can reach most of the destinations in Cornwall within one hour.

St-Just-in-Roseland is a little village 2 miles north of St. Mawes on the Roseland Peninsular. A quiet, little village but also well known for its picturesque church which stands on the waterfront amongst exotic sub-tropical plants. Roseland is a haven for those interested in sailing and it is full of nice beaches; some small, some long and some hidden waiting to be discovered by those who seek a relatively quiet and relaxing holiday. Most of its coastline is part of the Southwest coastal path and/or protected by the National Trust. The garden lovers will be spoil for choice with Trelissick, Trewithen, Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. The village is also conveniently situated with access to Falmouth and Truro, where there is an abundant choice for shopping and restaurants. Both can be reached within 20min. Yet, if you prefer to stay on the Roseland, there is a good choice of grocery/farm shops/restaurants.

Great Cornish Holiday

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 28 August 2012 Date of Stay: August 2012
The ease with which the property was leased was only an indication of how lovely a destination this property is. The owners have furnished and equipped the house to a very high standard, even down to soaps etc. It is most certainly a home from home. We rented it because our son was being married at St Mawes Castle and it turned out to be the perfect place for us to stay and our son to leave from to get married.

The location is perfectly placed for touring, walking etc.

We would recommend this to any and all future interested holidaymakers.

An excellent holiday home

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 07 April 2012 Date of Stay: March 2012
This really was a great find and exceeded all expectations. The house was spotless and had so many extras not found in others we had visited over the years. Our main concern was making sure we kept it as tidy and clean as it was left for us!

The dogs were completely at home and were so exhausted after each days walk that they hardly moved each evening. The weather could not have been better and we did not see a single cloud until a day before having to leave. Each day we tried a different walk and there are many nearby, from the doorstep or a short drive away and with the added bonus of an internet connection at the house, this made mapping out the next days activities very easy - especially when looking for pubs at the end of a coastal walk which served good food and welcomed dogs!

All in all it was a fantastic place to stay in and the owner could not have been more of a pleasure to deal with. If anyone is looking for a home from home with all the facilities and in a good location then I cannot recommend this place more highly.

A fantastic holiday home.

A fabulous house in a beautiful, peaceful location.

Everything one could want in a rental property was provided.

The house is located only 5 minutes drive from delightful St Mawes, from where you can take the ferry over to Falmouth. Highly recommended, as is the King Harry Ferry.

Would certainly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

We did really enjoy our stay in this comfortable and well equiped house which make you feel at home.
The place is nice and very quiet, as described, and well situated to visit cornwall (very close to Saint Mawes)
Price is reasonable too.
We warmly recommend it.

A great find

Review Submitted: 26 April 2011 Date of Stay: April 2011
The house is just as described, and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay convenient, and comfortable. The property is very well maintained, and well laid out. Bathroom fittings are all new - and everything is clean and in very good condition (including new mattresses, sheets, duvets - high quality). The garden is a fabuolous addition.. It is beautifully kept, and we really enjoyed spending time in it when not at the beach! The house is conveniently located - very close to a footpath for rambling, and easy to jump in a car - to be in St Mawes in 5 minutes, or Pendower, Portscatho etc in not much longer. Customer service was exceptional - professional, efficient and pleasant. Would happily recommend to anyone wanting a reasonably priced (in fact, we found it much more reasonably priced than places we have stayed in in St Mawes that aren't half as good)and return.
