Fantastic adventure!

  • 5 out of 5
Ken and Diane hosted us at their villa and on their catamaran at the end of April 2014. It was just the most amazing trip, the catamaran sailing experience was like no other. They let my boyfriend and I do as much or as little as we wanted. The educated us so much about sailing in the Caribbean and taught us a thing or five hundred about the cat itself. We were welcomed with rum punch, Diane and Ken cooked a fabulous meal of fish they caught just the day before- and we snorkeled and swam and dove off the front of the cat. How fun! Simply an experience not to be missed and I feel comfortable to say I have recommended to friends who may travel to the area and will definitely reach out to them if we ever find ourselves in their neck of the woods again. =)

Our family had an awesome March break week with Ken and Diane. From the moment they picked us up at the airport they were accommodating to our family of 5. Our kids range in age from 16 to 8 and they all had a great time. Ken and Diane made us feel very welcome and we were able to plan our adventures based on their expertise of the area. We did a side trip to Martinique complete with a day tour of that island. Our oldest son did his first official scuba dive and was thrilled, we all snorkled, fished and swam. The catamaran was comfortable, relaxing and best of all we could do as much or as little as we wanted. It was so nice not to have to worry about all the "details" of sailing - Ken and Diane were on top of it all. Ken's focus on safety was very much appreciated and Diane produced some awesome meals from that small kitchen! We have recommended sailing with Ken and Diane to many of our friends - it will be a vacation that won't be forgotten soon. Thanks so much for your kindness and a unique adventure!

NOT TO BE MISSED - A PERSONALISED SAILING TRIP WITH THE NICEST CAPTAINS EVER

  • 5 out of 5
Our family of 4 (we have two teenage boys) had the privilege of spending one night and two days with Ken and Diane on their wonderful boat. I suffer from sea sickness and was a bit unsure of this trip but didn't want to miss out. I started with sea sick tablets which spaced me out, and after a peaceful night with the best sleep Ive had in years I seemed to be cured (maybe their Rum Punch has some special healing medicine for dodgy tummies :) )

Diane and Ken will listen to your preferences for what you want out of the trip, and then deliver. The food was fresh, fabulous and forthcoming (plenty of it) as were the drinks. My boys wanted to fish and snorkel and that's exactly what they did. Ken also encouraged them to help out with sailing chores so they learnt bits about what is required to sail the vessel.
We had such a wonderful time and it was great to spend such quality and relaxing time with my lovely family, we cant thank Ken and Diane for working so hard to make this a special time for us. They are a great couple and great company. We left the boat feeling like we'd known them for years. Ken is even going to take our youngest to a local rugby training session whilst we are on the island, as this is another of his passions. Thank you both so much.

It was truly a pleasure having you join us for a sail in St Lucia! From the moment you got on board, we knew we were going to have a great time, and catch a lot of fish! Thank you for bringing along all the interesting accessories and sharing with us! We certainly hope to see you back in St Lucia one day so we can do it again, perhaps venture to another island as well! Have a wonderful summer and thank you once again for joining us and for leaving such a kind review! Diane and Capt Ken!

A Fantastic Family Adventure!

  • 5 out of 5
Our family of five (kids 12, 10 and 7) had a fantastic week long adventure with Ken and Dianne on board Lost Our Marbles. We sailed, swam, snorkeled and fished as we explored to coasts of St. Lucia and Martinique. Ken was a safe, knowledgeable and fun captain who allowed us to get involved in the running of the ship. Dianne was the perfect host, feeding us with excellent meals and even baby sitting the kids one night so that we could have a date night on shore. We couldn't have enjoyed our time more and would highly recommend them to any adventure seekers who wish to sail. We feel like we made some new friends and some great family memories. Thanks Ken and Dianne!

Live aboard! tropical catamaran paradise

  • 5 out of 5
Ken and Diane are wonderful hosts, experienced sailors and great ambassadors for the island of St Lucia! We had been to several of the Caribbean Islands in the past, and had also done a sail charter out of the BVI in the past. However, this was our first visit to St Lucia and with just the two of us traveling, were not keen on chartering a boat on our own.

Ken and Diane to the rescue! We “chartered” 3 nights and 4 days on a live aboard on their catamaran “Lost our Marbles”. We had only a week and wanted to split our time on land and sea to get a flavor for the island. We stayed the first couple nights on the north end of the island, and were very excited to get out on the water. When time came Ken and Diane picked us up just a town away from where we were staying at the local marina. After brief introductions, we were off!

Wind in our hair (Ken too) sailing down the leeward side of the island, seeing the caribbean from the water brings a whole new appreciation for the beauty. Ken had lots to tell of us the island, sights, and area; Diane made us fantastic meals. We were mostly looking to snorkel, but Ken nearly converted us to fishermen on the way. We didn’t catch anything but Ken’s persistence was inspiring -- oh and the one that got away -- that counts if someone sees it!

Marigot Bay, Anse Chastanet, and the Pitons outside of Soufriere (which Ken explained is NOT named after the sulfur smell from the volcano, but for the word BROTHERS in french-- for the ‘Piton brothers’) All gorgeous movie set locations.

On a spur one night, i thought i’d like to scuba dive in the morning -- my mate having a problem with her ears, i wasn’t planning on it -- but within an hour or so Ken and Diane had the whole thing arranged with a local certified Scuba tour. They dropped Melanie off for some snorkeling and took me with on a outstanding reef scuba.

A fantastic sail down the southern side of the island, more great food, and then it was time to leave -- they even dropped us at the airport after. Fantastic hosts! If your interested in a 2 day to 7 day Caribbean live aboard in St Lucia, this is the one.

What a fun memory!

  • 5 out of 5
As my husband and I were flying into St. Lucia, the most beautiful rainbow was over the island. After clearing immigration, we walked outside and were greeted by Ken and Diane holding a sign with our names and smiles on their faces. From the very first moment, I felt as though we were meeting old friends. Diane immediately puts you at ease with her friendly nature. Growing up in Colorado, we had never sailed on the ocean (had only been on "stink boats" as Ken jokingly calls them).
As it was too late to sail the first night, we slept on the ship and I was gently rocked to sleep like a baby. Ken gave us a friendly orientation of what to do and not to do on the boat and we set sail the next morning. Diane had coffee and breakfast waiting and our adventure at sea started.
We just wanted some much needed R&R (rest and relaxation) and this sail certainly provided that. Jumping off the end of the boat and swimming in the beautiful blue ocean was so much fun. (One morning it was navy blue, the next it was turquoise). That alone was so peaceful. The sun sets added a beautiful colorful end to the night.
We also did some fishing and I caught a nice barracuda about 20lbs, 36 inches! And that was dinner for the evening and lunch the following day! The flavor was surperb as Diane used local spices and onions to cook the fish. No fishy taste here!
I also cannot forget my diving experience with Chester (Adventure Divng) at the Hummingbird Resort while we were anchored in the bay at Soufiere. Not only were the pitons spectacular, but under the water, diving the pinnacles and "supermans flight" was great. Visibility was 100 ft or better as Chester pointed out a number of different types of fish, corals and eels. Just a great divemaster in a great setting.
