After you’ve parked your car on the drive you may just decide to take a leisurely 15 minute stroll along the old railway track to the beach & pub at Wiseman’s Bridge. Hard to imagine as you follow the well surfaced path through trees along the side of the river that in years gone by the little steam engines would have hauled coal along the same route. Instead of heading left at the beach toward the Pub bear right along the back of the beach and through the three old railway tunnels into Saundersfoot.
The walled town of Tenby is about 5 miles west, if you have the stamina a beautiful walk along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and perhaps a bus home. There’s plenty to do – just a short drive and you could be standing in the dungeon of an ancient castle, aboard a boat for a trip along the coast to see the seals or Puffins or maybe riding the roller coaster. There’s also plenty of peace and if you know where to look a quiet beach can be found even at the height of the season!
