I am a third generation Bermudian born and raised! I attended school from kindergarten to 12th grade, at Bermuda Institute. After graduating from high school I traveled to the USA to study Dental Hygiene. I received a degree in Health Science and in Dental Hygiene and work as a Dental Hygienist in Hinsdale, Il ,at Dentistry by Design. I also have partnered up with USANA, a Health Science Company that believes we have one body and we should take care of it, with what we put in it. Vitamins, meal replacements and minerals etc.
I have two beautiful daughters, Lauren and Jennifer whom I'm very proud of . Lauren is a social media specialist and Jennifer graduated with a degree in International business and Spanish.
Currently I live in Chicago and love to dance, read, workout. Most importantly having a relationship with my creator.
Heather Ysseldyke purchased this townhome in 2004
My mother purchased this townhouse in 2004 after my father passed away and lived there until her health started to fail in 2010. My mother passed July 2011 and left a big hole in my heart, but she left me the townhouse to keep the memories going of the love and laughter that was shared in this home. Her advice to me at the end of her life was, ' Live a peaceful life'...and you can in Bermuda!
There are beautiful memories that go with this townhouse. The walks to the town of St. George with my daughters to eat at the White Horse. The walks to Fort St. Catherine beach. Or, renting a scooter in St. George and riding to the beaches. Sitting on the sofa and having long talks with my mom about her growing up in Bermuda. Having family come by and talk about 'old times'. I love the quiet area and the memories of my dear mom...love you mom.!
Nowhere else in the world is there a town that has remained virtually untouched for over 400 years. The quaint town of St. George is Bermuda's oldest parish founded in 1612. Filled with rich history, natural beauty, and minutes from the airport, the town of St. George has something to offer for everyone. In 2000 the town of St. George was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List. Nearly all of the buildings are in their original condition. The historic buildings function not only as museums but also as houses, restaurants, pubs and shops. St. George is also home to the oldest surviving Anglican church in the Western hemisphere, St. Peter’s church, which can be toured daily for free. At its center lies King's Square, surrounded by the Town Hall and the Visitors Service Bureau. There are replica stocks in the Square, and also a ducking stool, a replica of one that was once used to dump gossiping women into the harbor. Nowadays, local volunteers recreate this punishment as well as celebrate Bermudian culture on Harbor Nights every Tuesday night in King’s Square. King’s Square also houses a replica of the Deliverance (one of the two ships built by the first shipwrecked settlers), and a life-size bronze statue of their commander, Sir George Somers. Other historic sites to tour include the ever popular Unfinished Cathedral, Somer’s Garden, Tucker House Museum, Bermuda National Trust Museum, and St. George’s Historical Society Museum.
For beachgoers, the town of St. George has plenty of breathtaking beaches to offer. Just 3/4 of a mile away from the townhouse lays dazzling Fort St. Catherine beach where you can sink your toes into the pink sand, let your skin be kissed by the sun, and let your body be caressed by our tranquil turquoise waters. For incredible snorkeling, Tobacco Bay is the beach for you! Located only 1 mile from the townhouse, Tobacco Bay has impressive underwater coral reefs which house a variety of unique and colorful tropical fish. With on-sight equipment rentals and Buzz Café and smoothie bar, one can easily spend an entire day at Tobacco Bay.
Other activities include horse- drawn carriage tours, fishing excursions, jet ski rentals, scooter rentals, delicious restaurants and bars, and plenty of shopping. With beaches, museums, bus stops, island ferry, grocery stores, and much more located within walking distance from the townhouse, The Summit is the place for you. So if you are looking for a relaxing, fun-filled, getaway in a picturesque tropical paradise, complete with your own townhouse, the town of St. George is your kind of town! So book now, your own piece of heaven is waiting.
