I am a third generation Bermudian born and raised! I attended school from kindergarten to 12th grade, at Bermuda Institute. After graduating from high school I traveled to the USA to study Dental Hygiene. I received a degree in Health Science and in Dental Hygiene and work as a Dental Hygienist in Hinsdale, Il ,at Dentistry by Design. I also have partnered up with USANA, a Health Science Company that believes we have one body and we should take care of it, with what we put in it. Vitamins, meal replacements and minerals etc.
I have two beautiful daughters, Lauren and Jennifer whom I'm very proud of . Lauren is a social media specialist and Jennifer graduated with a degree in International business and Spanish.
Currently I live in Chicago and love to dance, read, workout. Most importantly having a relationship with my creator.
Heather Ysseldyke purchased this townhome in 2004
My mother purchased this townhouse in 2004 after my father passed away and lived there until her health started to fail in 2010. My mother passed July 2011 and left a big hole in my heart, but she left me the townhouse to keep the memories going of the love and laughter that was shared in this home. Her advice to me at the end of her life was, ' Live a peaceful life'...and you can in Bermuda!
There are beautiful memories that go with this townhouse. The walks to the town of St. George with my daughters to eat at the White Horse. The walks to Fort St. Catherine beach. Or, renting a scooter in St. George and riding to the beaches. Sitting on the sofa and having long talks with my mom about her growing up in Bermuda. Having family come by and talk about 'old times'. I love the quiet area and the memories of my dear mom...love you mom.!
Our family of 4 stayed at Heather's home over Easter break in early April and had a wonderful time. Her kitchen is as well stocked as mine at home and we had no problem preparing meals, including Easter dinner. The townhouse was very comfortable and well located. We walked into the Town of St. George's each day and really enjoyed this quaint historic village. We also walked to Fort St. Catherine and Tobacco Bay for the beaches - beautiful! The bus at the top of the hill took us into Hamilton on the most scenic ride ever. Heather was lovely to deal with and she arranged a wonderful driver in Michael. Since we arrived on Good Friday and the stores were closed, she even arranged for milk and eggs to be left for us. House has a washer and dryer, good wifi and ample towels/beach towels. We'd love to return to Bermuda and stay here again.
We stayed in Heather's home in the beginning of June. We would give this vacation rental and Heather more than 5 stars! She is a joy to arrange your stay with! She made the process seamless! She had amazing suggestions of things to do and places to see! The home itself has a great deal to offer! Big bedroom and bathrooms! (Great for a family!) She has a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, stove/oven, and WiFi! The location is great! Close to St. George & everything you need! We highly recommend staying in this home! Thank you Heather for making out first of hopefully many trips to Bermuda!
We just returned from our stay and the townhouse was perfect. We took our four children for a family vacation for my oldest daughters 16 birthday and the townhouse was exactly as shown it was clean and had everything we needed. Heather was a pleasure to deal with and was always prompt and helpful in responding to my inquires. St.George was a beautiful part of the island and there were beautiful beaches all within walking distance of the townhouse. Michael picked us up from the airport and he was such a pleasure to deal with. Thanks Heather!
First I would like to say that you can rent this property with 100% confidence! There is always that element of risk with the unknown but have no fear if you decide to stay at Heather's home away from home.
The airport pickup was nice and hassle free. Addison is polite and professional, he gave us a quick tour of the town and beaches as well as a stop at the grocery store. The fee was around $60 US. The ride from the condo directly back to the airport for departure was under $30 US with tip.
The condo itself is in a small concave of two buildings, with Heather's in the back. While the views getting to the condo and from the kitchen window are spectacular, it is a little disappointing that the back patio looks at a higher condo instead of the Ocean. It is the only thing that keeps this property from being 6 stars but it won't effect your stay as Bermuda is beautiful!
Master bedroom is downstairs, which was nice if people want to stay up, you have privacy. The bed is comfortable, AC works great and the en suite is super convenient.
The second bedroom is cozy but it also has the main door going outside in it, which is a little inconvenient when people are on different schedules. The bed is OK but maybe not for someone who is fussy on what they sleep on. For young kids no problem, the teenagers were trying to kick me out of my bed.
Main floor Pull out sofa was more than adequate and my 6ft teenage son slept very comfortably as would two adults. It's nice for someone who likes to stay up and watch some tv, world cup was on!. WIFI too
Kitchen was excellent with pretty much everything you needed including a dishwasher. There is a water cooler and I would advise that you pick up a jug on your first day as you are asked to leave a full jug, I carried 3 from town.
There are tons of beach towels and it was nice to have the washer and dryer. Here are a couple of items that would add to the already excellent supply available for use.
Small beach chairs & beach umbrella, second rain umbrella as these items are very expensive to purchase and leave behind.
Its too bad the bus does not run in front of the condo anymore but it is a 5 min walk. There are 3 beaches within 5-20 min, for a real private feel go to the beach below the beach house rest. Use the buses, we bought 15 adult fares for $20 & 15 Student for $7.
It was our first time in Bermuda and I can honestly say I would send friends and family to Heather's home.
We enjoyed the townhome immensely. Beautifully and conveniently located. Walking distance to St. George's and the beach. The home was extremely well equipped and the owner was very accommodating. We definitely would choose this townhome again and recommend it highly.
We came to Bermuda on a last second whim- thanks so much to Heather for working with us! Michael received us at the airport, showed us around and took us for groceries which was a huge help. We came with two babies under two- so the space was perfect for us. We can't wait to come back one day!
Nowhere else in the world is there a town that has remained virtually untouched for over 400 years. The quaint town of St. George is Bermuda's oldest parish founded in 1612. Filled with rich history, natural beauty, and minutes from the airport, the town of St. George has something to offer for everyone. In 2000 the town of St. George was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List. Nearly all of the buildings are in their original condition. The historic buildings function not only as museums but also as houses, restaurants, pubs and shops. St. George is also home to the oldest surviving Anglican church in the Western hemisphere, St. Peter’s church, which can be toured daily for free. At its center lies King's Square, surrounded by the Town Hall and the Visitors Service Bureau. There are replica stocks in the Square, and also a ducking stool, a replica of one that was once used to dump gossiping women into the harbor. Nowadays, local volunteers recreate this punishment as well as celebrate Bermudian culture on Harbor Nights every Tuesday night in King’s Square. King’s Square also houses a replica of the Deliverance (one of the two ships built by the first shipwrecked settlers), and a life-size bronze statue of their commander, Sir George Somers. Other historic sites to tour include the ever popular Unfinished Cathedral, Somer’s Garden, Tucker House Museum, Bermuda National Trust Museum, and St. George’s Historical Society Museum.
For beachgoers, the town of St. George has plenty of breathtaking beaches to offer. Just 3/4 of a mile away from the townhouse lays dazzling Fort St. Catherine beach where you can sink your toes into the pink sand, let your skin be kissed by the sun, and let your body be caressed by our tranquil turquoise waters. For incredible snorkeling, Tobacco Bay is the beach for you! Located only 1 mile from the townhouse, Tobacco Bay has impressive underwater coral reefs which house a variety of unique and colorful tropical fish. With on-sight equipment rentals and Buzz Café and smoothie bar, one can easily spend an entire day at Tobacco Bay.
Other activities include horse- drawn carriage tours, fishing excursions, jet ski rentals, scooter rentals, delicious restaurants and bars, and plenty of shopping. With beaches, museums, bus stops, island ferry, grocery stores, and much more located within walking distance from the townhouse, The Summit is the place for you. So if you are looking for a relaxing, fun-filled, getaway in a picturesque tropical paradise, complete with your own townhouse, the town of St. George is your kind of town! So book now, your own piece of heaven is waiting.
