About Renee Andrews

We skied Big Sky and stayed in the Shoshone for the first time in 2006 and fell in love with Montana! The lower elevation was a huge benefit to us because we had experienced altitude sickness at resorts in Colorado where their bases were at a much higher elevation. We also spend much of our summer in Big Sky hiking, riding, white water rafting and enjoying 'God's Playground'! There are great day trips you can take from the condo such as the Grizzly Bear & Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone, Lewis and Clark Caverns in Three Forks or floating and fly-fishing on the Yellowstone or Madison Rivers. We enjoy hiking and some of our favorite hikes, Lava Lake and Beehive Basin are beautiful and very close. There is always something to do!

Renee Andrews purchased this condo in 2006

Why Renee Andrews chose Big Sky

The Shoshone is a perfect for for a family. The condo is a minute walk to the lifts, and equipment can be rented right on the mountain with the ski storage facility located as you exit the building to go to the slopes. After skiing enjoy relaxing (or playing!) in the indoor/outdoor heated pool. The Shoshone indoor/outdoor pool is the largest in the area and is a great place for kids and adults. The Yellowstone Conference Center is attached to the Shoshone so no need to exit the building if attending a conference. The mountain mall is small but it has everything needed from a small grocery store to great places to eat. For us the Shoshone still is the perfect fit!

What makes this condo unique

The Shoshone is in a perfect location with great views of the mountains. Our corner unit overlooks several ski runs and at night we sit back and relax and watch the snow cats groom the runs for the next day. Relax on the sofa or Murphy bed and look out the window and watch the fireworks shows on New Years Eve and the 4th of July. In the summer there are concerts and activities at the base of the mountain and we can just look out the window to see what's happening! The town of Big Sky offers numerous restaurants for outside dining and in the summer enjoy the many concerts, rodeos and weekly farmer's market. If you don't have a car there is a free shuttle that runs every half hour from the mountain to downtown Big Sky. The location of the Shoshone is great for skiing/boarding, snowshoeing, or for summer time fun such as hiking, mountain biking, rafting, kayaking or just relaxing. We are far enough away from Yellowstone to avoid the heavy crowds in the summer and yet we have the beauty of the mountains right outside our door. Big Sky is still pristine with no lift lines and with so much skiable terrain the runs are not crowded. There is something for everyone!

The large indoor/outdoor heated pool is always a big hit with adults and kids alike whether its throwing snowballs or just relaxing, there is enough room to accommodate everyone.

The Shoshone is attached to the Yellowstone Conference Center and connected to the Huntley hotel so if you are attending a conference you are right on the property with room for a family of 4-6.

Another AWSOME adventure at Big Sky

  • 5 of 5

This was probably our 5th time skiing at Big Sky, but our first time doing a VRBO there but it will not be the last. We have already booked the same unit for next season. The place is exactly as described and the owner Renee could not have been nicer, she even called and checked on us mid-week to make sure we were having a good time. And when I mentioned one small issue (the previous guest had apparently erased the electronic card to the recycling room), she saw that we had a replacement with in an hour WOW!!!

Like I said we really like Big Sky the skiing is awesome, and the Shoshone is with out a doubt the best location to stay in, right on the slopes and with lots of other things to do. You simply can not go wrong by going this route.

Great Condo

  • 5 of 5

This is an superb condo for ski in/ski out if you're renting during ski season. Great Location and has everything needed for your stay. The pool and hot tub are excellent for after ski relaxation. Even with the kitchen being fully furnished, there are many good restaurants in the resort and surrounding area to temp you and enjoy. Plenty of off hill activities to entertain all interests such as Yellowstone, horse back riding, sleigh rides , zip lining, etc.

Great accommodation and resort

  • 5 of 5

Great condo which is well furnished, fully equipped and has ample space for a family. It is only a short walk to the ski school where the kids lessons are of a good quality and the class sizes relatively small. Even though the snow was a little late in arriving there was still ample terrain to ski and there were very few lines, even at its busiest. We ate in a lot of the time as the condo is fully equipped but when we went out then it was easy to get the shuttle bus to the town centre and meadow village to try other restaurants. The facilities at the Huntley such as the buffet breakfast and the hot pool are great places to meet other families. We also visited Yellowstone which is well worth doing in the winter as it is much quieter than the summer. Overall the resort and the accommodation significantly exceeded our expectations and we are already planning (and saving!) for a return trip.

Great location and unit

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a visit to Yellowstone and Big Sky area - enjoyed whitewater rafting with Geyser Whitewater, horseback riding with Jake's, and ziplined in West Yellowstone, and spend 2 days in the park. This is an superb location for ski in/ski out if you're renting during ski season. Great space, everything you need for your stay in furnishings, and the Murphy bed was great for the extra sleeping space for our kids, and full sized mattresses/box springs on it. Convenient next to the elevator too!

Great condo

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed at this very nice condo for our annual ski vacation. It is a corner unit and in a great location with easy access to ski slopes. You walk a short distance to the base and can ski in almost the whole way as long as there is enough snow. The condo is at the base of the mountain with ski school, ski rentals and ski ticket purchase all conveniently located beside each other. The skiing was awesome!! We had snow almost every day and fabulous conditions. It was nice to be able to ski to Moonlight Basin and explore some of the great runs over there. The unit had a lovely view and was very neat with everything there you needed. There is a king bed in the master and a queen Murphy Bed and Sleeper sofa in the living room. With 2 bathrooms it worked very well for our family of 4. Thank you Renee for sharing your lovely condo with us.

This condo is fabulous! It's beautifully decorated, spotless, and nicely equipped. This was our first time to rent VRBO and I highly recommend this unit and the owners who are so gracious. The location is great. It's just a couple of minute walk to the lifts which makes it perfect for the family who wants to take a break from skiing in the morning for lunch in the condo then return to the slopes for afternoon skiing.
