Self catering ground floor apartment, sleeps 3, near River Thames in West London

Once inside the Darwin apartment you enter into a chic and spacious living area which is bright and tastefully furnished with two comfortable sofas (one a comfortable sofa bed), dining table with four chairs, coffee table and a 32' flat screen HD TV. The bedroom which overlooks the patio garden offers a king size bed, built-in closet space, chest of drawers, dressing table with mirror and hair dryer and bedside tables with bedside lamps. Throughout the living area, hallway and bedroom new wooden flooring has been fitted in keeping with the age of the property and deep red soft silk rugs have been added to compliment the flooring. The new kitchen offers all appliances you would expect to find in a very well appointed holiday home and a stable door leads out to the sunny patio garden with table, chairs and sun umbrella in the summer months. Off the kitchen is the utility area housing the tumble dryer and immediately off this area is the new contemporary fully tiled bathroom with shower-bath, overhead power shower and hand held shower, WC, sink and heated towel rail. The apartment has two large storage cupboards giving additional wardrobe space and also offering a handy place for hiding suitcases.

My name is Vanessa and I run my own company marketing short term and holiday accommodation in London and mainly in West London where I live. I was born and raised in Kent and went to school in Bickley. My father was a General Practioner and my mother a designer for Marks and Spencers. I am the youngest of three and my sister lives in Toronto and my brother in Johanesburg.

I bought this property in Spring of 2009. Sadly it had been neglected over the previous years so it needed a great deal of TLC. After an extensive refurbishment programme including a new bathroom and kitchen and new flooring throughout the apartment I am very proud of the high standard we achieved and since welcoming our first guest in November 2009 we have received such kind and complimentary comments from every one of our guest. With the excellent location and terrific public transport links in Ealing it is the perfect place to stay whilst visiting our capital city.

I personally greet every guest on arrival, show them around the apartment and demonstrate how each appliance works. Living only five minutes away I am always on hand should there be any queries.

What I particularly love about this apartment is the sunny private patio garden. In the summer months a garden table, chairs and sun umbrella are provided for al-fresco dining.

With the apartment being on the ground floor there is no issue with mobility which is a huge bonus.

I was stranded in London when British airspace was closed by the Icelandic volcano! I stayed a few days here in a very relaxing apartment. Vanessa was very helpful , and the place is well decorated. Comfortable bed, great shower, nice kitchen, easy-to-understand laundry machine. It is a residential area with some quick walks nearby, and not far to the tube station. Small grocery around the corner, fast internet. Hopefully I will not be stranded again by a volcano, but if so, I will head straight for South Ealing!

My husband, my daughter and myself spent two weeks in November at this flat and we very much liked our holiday. The apartment is newly renovated and beautifully furnished. The kitchen is brand new and has every appliance and the bathroom is modern with a new bath and overhead power shower. It is within walking distance to shops and the underground making it quick and easy to access all areas of Central London. We will certainly visit again as we all very much enjoyed our stay.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway

Ealing Broadway, Ealing Studios, Kew Bridge Steam Museum, Richmond, Chiswick, Kew Botanical Gardens, Public Records Office, Brentford Football Club and the Thames River are all nearby. Ealing Jazz Festival is held every summer in nearby Lammas Park.
